Hi Everybody
I flashed on my DHD the Revolution HD ROM (v.3.2) and I find it much better than the stock one, but I can't understand why they decided to remove some of the stock skins. In particular I've always used the "Metal" one, so I was wondering if there is a way to install/flash it.
Thank you

Try RCMix ROM this one is faster and has the Metal Skin.
Revolution HD doesn't get it all out of you DHD. You'll be supriced how fast your DHD can be with RCmix or Coredroid.
Thank you for your reply!
I'm sure that coredroid and rcmix are fantastic ROM's, btw I prefer the Revolution HD because it looks exactly like the stock HTC ruu. Maybe i'll flash them once, but at the moment I'd rather keeping one that is similar to the original one... but a bit faster
Any ideas?
Metal Skin
Try installing this file. It worked fine for me.
I extracted it form my Original DHD rom v1.32 and installed it to Revolution HD 3.3. You should not have any problems.

That's all really.
I don't want to move away from HTC Sense (even though I hear Cyanogenmod is very good) but would like the latest version of HTC Sense and Gingerbread. A few questions please:
1. Where can I find the Desire S GSM ROM for the Desire GSM? With installation instructions. I've already rooted.
2. I take it this is the best HTC Sense ROM to install? HTC Sense 3 (HTC Sensation) looks to be in it's infancy.
3. Will this ROM allow me to remove some of the preinstalled bloatware so I can install more apps?
Reasons for wanting to upgrade:
1. Increase storage, so I can install more apps. I'm always running out of storage.
2. Increase battery life.
3. Latest HTC Sense + Android.
Thanks
I should add:
1. I've tried searching but it drew a blank. All I could find was stock Desire S ROMs. I don't have a Desire S, so am guessing these won't work on my Desire.
2. I've never installed an Android ROM before, please bare that in mind when replying but have rooted my HTC Desire without trouble and also years ago installed TomTom on a cheap Chinese (Windows CE) satnav, again without much trouble.
Thanks.

Is this what you're looking for? Sense on Gingerbread based on Ace S (Is that Desire S??) Anyway , it is Gingerbread and Sense , as long as it works it should be fine whatever it is based on right?

All custom Roms are found in here if you wanna take a look.

Thanks 71baker. Yes that's basically it but I understand the Desire HD roms are safer.
Any idea where I can find a Desire HD (with Gingerbread) rom which works with the Desire and has installation instructions?
Try this one m8 i think you will find its what you are after.

there are some bugs in these roms at the present as they are early versions.

Thanks. That looks like just what I'm after. I'm not bothered about losing the video camera. It's absolutely rubbish.
720p is totally pointless when the lag is so bad, with even the slightest movement. My ancient VGA digital camera produces better videos (much lower res but perfectly fine motion).

There isn't a decent Desire S ROM available, better looking at a Desire HD one (or my normal Desire 2.3.3 ROM )
Well you are right when thinking you can't use the desire s roms, as they need to be fitted to the hardware.
And if you want more space, i will suggest you stay on stock desire rom, as desire s roms fills quite a bit more. You should start looking at some a2sd scripts instead(those are also used to make desire s rom fit into desire).
If you want the new sense and gingerbread, we have a forum just for roms(development) in there you will find 1 thread for every rom. The one you will be searching for is "rcmix s" and yes as eddyos states try to go with desire hd instead.

Thanks for this Eddy. Can you point me to the link or what to search for?
It looks like you're running an HTC Desire HD ROM with Gingerbread. I'm pretty sure the Desire HD officially still runs Froyo. Cool.

Thanks for this Mortenmhp. I'll have a look, instead of muddying the water in this thread.

Got it thanks. It sounds like I want the Desire HD ROM instead. Does that have the same version of HTC Sense as the Desire S? I thought it was newer again, no?
I'm not running a DHD ROM - I'm using an original Desire 2.3.3 ROM
Look for SuperDuperAwesomeROM in ROM Development if you wanna look

Funnily enough I've just been looking at that thread. If I was to flash a new ROM, I'd definitely want the newer HTC Sense and Gingerbread. Any idea where I can find the ROM for this (I'm guessing Desire HD)?
Cheers
Hope someone can point me in the right direction here, I have a rooted Telus HTC Desire HD. I have tried several ROM's and so far none quite fit the bill. I am looking for a ROM that is basically a rooted version of the stock rom. I only rooted my phone so I could use a clockwork recovery and be able to backup my device. Also Sense is needed as I use google calendar along with pure calendar to display my appointments, contact birthdays and facebook contact birthdays. Facebook for sense seems to be the only way to easily do this. I have RCmixHD which is supposed to be a port of Telus stock rom & I like it except that it does not have Canadian or US English options. If anyone has some ideas on where to look next I sure would like to know.
Hi jmc7895
Since you like sense.. you can try Android Revolution HD and LeeDrOid. Well you can try the Gingerbread version of them, you also have the option to try out the Froyo version.
Cheers. =)
I have to say I am no Android freak, I just started to use Custom Roms for 3 weeks.
But I could honestly recommend Android Revolution HD 5.1.x to everybody.
stable, fast, almost a rooted stock Rom, no trash inside, no problems until you do not install any "Sense 3.0 Addons"
only follow the guides and you will be happy with that rom.
I am currently using Revolution HD.
First custom rom i've tried, I love it. Looks exactly like stock Gingerbread, only waaay faster and with better battery life. Plus there's 24/7 support on the rom's thread
Just follow the tutorials, you'll be fine !
The only downside I could think of is that the rom is not directly available in ROM Manager. Not a big problem anyway =)
Hello everyone!
I own a HTC Desire HD.
Yesterday, I downgraded my software version of the HTC from a 2.3 GingerBread to 2.2, and rooted my phone. Then, I installed RCMix3D KINGDOM v1.9, the HTC Sense 3.0 graphical user interface.
However, now I want to go back to my old ROM, the original one, with GingerBread.
Or a 2.2 version, then I'll update to GingerBread myself.
My phone is rooted for the moment. I want everything back to normal.
Is there any possibility to do this?
Thank you!
Follow my Sig.
An excellent stock ROM, on the latest build. You won't be disappointed.

Flash an ruu file of what ever version you want (sorry no link since I'm not on my pc), that should unroot your phone.
Next I THINK you need to perform a radio s-on and eng s-on.. Please have a look in development section you should find your answer for sure..
And to point out try the Rom in my sig, interface same as the stock just improved performance...

I managed to make it work and downgraded from RCMix3D KINGDOM v1.9 to 2.2 ( GingerBread to Froyo )
I found a .zip of stock ROM and a program called "atb" or something here on the forum, along with some instructions of how to do it.
Thank you!
Hi all,
I'm running Android Revolution 6.3.1 on my Desire HD, I've used Cyanogenmod 7 but prefer Android Revolution. However I do love the lock animation on Cyanogenmod whereby the screen reduces to a white line and disappears.
Hope that is clear enough
I was wondering if there is any sort of mod or something that I can flash to my device so I can have the lock animation on Android Revolution?
Many thanks,
Matt
Yeah it's possible.
Have a look at This one: Mods for Android Revolution HD 6.3.x, exactly "CRT Screen On/Off Animation".
Flash it and you'll be fine.

EDIT: Seems to be removed from first post - Doesn't matter, I dropped it into my dropbox, grab it here - Feel free to hit the "Thanks"-Button
I believe he removed it for a reason. Not sure if its compatible. With 6.3.x so make a nandroid before you apply it
Do always a Nandroid
Working like a charme here - should work fine on yours as well.
