Where can I find a good overclocking kernel for EC05? All the kernels for froyo under the wiki are for EB13
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
In the development section look for the vision kerenel, twilight kernel, and genocide kernel. The twilight kernel goes to 1.3ghz, vision and genocide go to 1.4ghz. Genocide 1.0 is the least noob friendly.
I'm sure that twilight kernel is already for the EC05. And vision kernel. The developers of some kernels are updating theirs in the meantime.
Genocide kernel is very good I had issues with the other ones and then I flashed this kernel and smooth. I'm on bonsai 4.0.1

What is a good kernel for Syndicate Frozen ROM?
This is from another forum, and if someone could answer it, that would be awesome
"I'm a bit confused on what kernel is included with it(Syndicate). I am able to overclock the phone to 1200, so it's definitely not stock(and Voodoo app works), correct? I'm a newbie to rooting, so I appreciate the help."
Thanks
The twilight kernel is build from the acs team so i think that would be the kernel to with syndicate rom.

You're right. Thank you.
I am running the Twilight Kernel with the ACS Frozen 1.1.0 ROM and all is well on my device.

Vision is also made by ACS for SyndicateROM.

I want to use the "Deck ROM 1.2", and I need to know what's a good kernel to use with the Rom please. TIA.

i have been using deck's since way back when 1.0 was released. the cm kernel it comes with is perfectly fine for most things, and i personally like to stick with it because its easier to modify CPU settings, but if you don't wabt to muck around with that i'd recommend tiamat, either 3.3.7 or 3.3.8 - hope that helos.

I recommend the Tiamat kernel.

Yes, the thread is started by Cayniarb; should be within the first 3 pages.
Has there been a release on a Overclocked Kernel for EG22, 2.3.4 rom ?
I'm loving the feel from 2.3.4, but i'd love the speed i had using genocide on EC05.
Thank you all ahead!

No, can't be a kernel without source code. Source code usually is not released until official is released. Some have had success with Tegrak an overclock app in the market.
dag, your right didn't even think about that.
Thank you!
I'll give the app try!

You can use Tegrak (in the market). It will OC the EG22 kernel from here:
http://chris41g.devphone.org/EG22PlusKernel.zip ACS Ext4 Kernel, I've run it and it does make EG22 run much faster. BUT - I noticed significant battery drain.
Hope that helps
The app also works with cm7

A little battery drain is a given with over clocking, lol

Yes Tegrak is awesome.

Yes it gives you a good feel for what Gingerbread will be like with custom kernels. i am running 1360 max on CM7

does anyone know what kernals are compatiable with metamorphisis 2.0 tryed genocide 2.0 no go i would like to be able to o.c. to at least 1.2 but 1. 4 would be nice.. thanks btw i did try searching as well before you guys jump down my throat!!
Not sure about kernels if Genocide doesn't work. You could always grab Tegrak if you are just looking to OC.

Ill give it a whirl thanks movie time wife is getting mad lol...

I can't find that kernal anywhere
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
So I installed tegrak and o.c to 1.1 my quadrant score was like 2600 litle amazed I might say
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I answered this in your other thread, but tegrak is an app in the market. Urban metamorphasis is an EH17 rom, genocide kernel is for EC05 roms. The kernel included with the rom should be able to overclock with the aid of tegrak.
Edit: glad to see you got it working while I typed that lol

Do you know what the safest frequency to overclock with terak on metamorpisis is right now I am at 1.1. Would like to hit 1.2 but don't want to fry my cpu

It depends on your processor. They are all different. Do not click set on boot. Set it to 1.2 and run Quadrant while it is doing the stability test. If it freezes you will have to pull the battery so make sure journaling is enabled in your ROM or find and flash the journal on zip. Mine made it to 30 seconds left until it froze. So just went back to 1.1.

I am running RandomROM el22 (THUNDER HAWK III) with shadow kernel 1.06+. this morning, I just noticed that sprint managed to update my modem to el30. Can and should I update the kernel to a el30 version? RandomROM does not yet have a el30 ROM, so trying to see what pieces
I can upgrade.
Thanks

RandomKing is working on EL30 update to my knowledge. You could wait for him to update the rom or move to the couple of EL30 roms that's in the devs. section; there's EL30 kernels too

There's really no overall benefit right now. You should stay on what you have until some deep reworking of the EL30 kernels are done.

You shouldn't mix kernels and ROM versions. If an EI22 ROM should stay on EI22 kernel. Modems are independent of everything and can be mixed.
Thanks all. No idea I had the modem upgraded. Thought that was something I have to do, not something sprint pushes.
