Microsoft is holding a live developer conference today on building apps for WP7 and on using their Azure platform. Thought it might be useful for developers interested in learning more about the platform and hear about any updated information.
It starts at 9.00 AM PST, and they will provide the recordings the next day I imagine.

Free Xbox 360 Game
with Windows Phone 7 Smartphones
Microsoft is giving customers another reason to choose a Windows Phone 7 SmartPhone from AT&T.
From 12/17/2010 through 12/31/2010, any customer that purchases a Windows 7 Device (Samsung Focus, the HTC Surround or the LG Quantum) can choose from four Xbox 360 games.
• Fable III
• Halo Reach
• Kinect Joy Ride (requires Xbox Kinect sensor)
• Kinect Kinectimals (requires Xbox Kinect sensor)
Customer Steps:
• To receive their free game, customers must visit wxwxw.myfreexbox360game.com[/url] to review redemption instructions:
o This offer is not redeemable in stores.
o The web site goes live at midnight on December 17, 2010.
• Customers must mail the redemption form, a copy of their purchase receipt, and a copy of their UPC within 45 days of purchase.
• Customers should receive their games within 6-8 weeks from the date their submission is received.
They are also giving out a free WP7 xbox live game, ilomilo.
that game is horribly addicting!!! I just wish they would announce these things though because I bought my surround and quantum on the 12th. I emailed microsoft though and hopefully I don't have to return them and buy again just to get my free games.
When is ilomilo coming to the general WP7 public again?
its under the AT&T apps, not the games section, its the top app under top free. Took me a minute to find it
Holy crap, is this for real? 1,000 free Internets to you kind sir for informing me of this deal. My family got two new Samsung Focuses last week so this is additional icing on an already full and delicious cake.
I received an email from them today directing me to THIS PAGE. Just in case the other one stops working for some reason.

Supposedly in Jan.
Also this deal is also offered with Tmobile.
I need some help from xda-developers and other tech blogging sites/communities. The question is relatively simple - how old were you when you first bought your windows phone 7 device? I am doing a class assignment on this and I thought why not do it on windows phone 7, so I am a bit curious of the age demographic breakdown between users that bought windows phone 7 devices (or users that are looking to purchase it within the next year) and users that are not interested.
Just vote
[edit]
Also preferred if you list your occupation or educational level as well. If you think its a bit too much information you don't have to participate. But trust me when I say this, it could help me a lot, like a whole lot so I ask you xda-developers FIRST

Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Marketplace is off to a strong start, according to a new analyst report, suggesting a solid future for the smartphone platform.
Microsoft may be reluctant to reveal early sales numbers for Windows Phone 7, but at least one analyst believes the new smartphone platform has a solid chance of establishing itself in the marketplace.
“The Windows Phone 7 Marketplace reaching 4,000 apps two months after launch has to be one of the most rapid ramp-ups in recent times, reaching this milestone faster than Android, which took from October 2008 to March 2009 to reach about the same level,” Al Hilwa, an analyst with research firm IDC, wrote in a Dec. 19 research note.

The Windows Phone 7 marketplace is ramping up faster than Android, and even when compared to the iPhone App store (red line) it does not look too bad.

You mean PanoramicSoft. They have many apps there but apparently MoTweets is missing.
I love their WM client....
While there quite a lot of shovelware in the market, there are some truely excellent apps already
It's true. I have about 50 installed on my phone already. The Seymour/Yelp/OpenTable combo was a lifesaver in New York City last weekend. I initially thought the list of programs would get cumbersome, but I kind of like it. As long as you can remember the first letter of the program name, the scrolling fluidity and ability to stop immediately makes getting to the right spot super easy.
Once again, another week another milestone. Today, the Marketplace hit the big ol' 5,000 for available apps. What's funny about this number is on December 25th, WebOS also hit 5,000 official apps (unofficially, it's over 6,000). As we mentioned last time, WebOS has been out for 18+ months, whereas Windows Phone, just two.

T-Mobile’s newest promotional contest is for all your Twitter fiends out there as T-Mobile wants you to enter the “4G Tweet Race,” and a chance to win a HTC One S. So how do you win?
How to play
Registration is simple. Just connect your Twitter account and follow @TMobile. When the race is on, you’re free to tweet! The racer who receives the most unique retweets during the race wins.

What counts?
Racers are free to personalize their tweet for their followers. However, all tweets must include @TMobile, #4GTweets, and http: //t-mo.co/4G Tweets.
