How about Camera + Camcorder??? is these work or not?

very interesting, thank you for the contribution.
I might actually take a look at this.. all that is needed to "dissect" this would be the standard Android SDK, correct?
EDIT: re-read the post.. dev-tools included. Thank you
Also for the last guy, it's not a stable ROM. It's a port that needs to be ported, so to speak.

This ROM is already leaked and also ported to HD2.
The Camera doesn't work and some others.......

I know this, but it's hard to find some sources. This is the ORIGINAL ROM and not a ROM which could flashed and used on HD2.

Update with GB Vision 2.3.3

Would like top take the opportunity to Hijack this thread (Kidding) and ask how to port a rom for usage on HD2. I managed to the kitchen for customize ready made HD2 Roms but never got to know how to port a Rom from another device to HD2 (is it just the kernel change or something else). I did search but surely didn't utilize correct search terms thus was unable to find resources and information so would highly appreciate it if someone guided me to info on how to accomplish that.

For more info on Radio Upgrades and roms please visit Modaco's website or just follow the links posted below thank you!!!
Thanks Modaco!!!
ENSURE YOU DO A NANDROID BACKUP SO YOU CAN 'ROLL BACK' IF REQUIRED!
A 'wipe' is MANDATORY when installing this ROM and you MUST do this BEFORE applying the update zip (as the update zip puts files on the data partition)! I also recommend you install the latest radio from my 'update zips' topic if you have not done so.
Please note that first boot may take a little while, especially if you have a lot of apps on your A2SD partition. Be patient! If you want a real clean start or you have issues with your existing A2SD installed apps when you boot, you need to wipe your EXT3 partition on SD too by executing 'adb shell rm -r /system/sd/app', 'adb shell rm -r /system/sd/app-private' and 'adb shell reboot'
The ROM is in an update.zip format for installation via the custom recovery image HERE , I also recommend installing the latest radio (63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18 at time of writing). As always, do a Nandroid backup before you do anything... just in case! LATEST RADIO
For the complete newbies, these are the steps you need to take with a 'virgin' Hero:
- Download the patched recovery image linked above and install as detailed in that post
- Download this custom ROM, and copy it to your SD card
- Enter the recovery image (if you're not in it already) by powering on while pressing 'home'
- Select 'nandroid backup' from the menu to do a backup
- If you copied the custom rom as update.zip, select 'apply sdcard:update.zip', else select the option below.
- all done
If you would like to remove parts of the ROM that you do not use, see this post. HERE
Feedback / feature requests welcome!
Wow, gonna try this.
Is it necessary to wipe when coming of Modaco 2.2?

I tried The Rom.. Unfortunately, all the same problems exist.
1>search in browser in landscape mode, keyboard bounces.
2>sms delivery report time shows 7 mins. later than actual.
3>Advanced task manager does not show memory inso and system tab force closes (the 3rd problem is what i dont like),
I'm quite sure there is some problem in these modified roms(even the modaco one, Ive tried them all) because when i install the rooted unmodified rom from modaco the 3rd problem is solved it works fine(not that i really need this app. its just that some where in the back of my head i feel something is not right in the rom that causes this, which might later on be a problem with some other apps also). and i also added a2sd later on which worked fine. and the 1st and 2nd problem exists in all the roms(modified, unmodified, rooted, and unrooted stock roms). if you could please solve the 3rd problem it would be gr8.
I'm very keen to try this rom...
Could anyone explain how to make the 3 partitions which are required.
Just to confirm: a partitioned sd card is not optional for this rom? When fiddling with the modaco Rom I never bothered.

How do I import a ROM into the kitchen to use as my base?
From a shipped ROM:
First, find the shipped ROM for your device, usually from htc.com or from searching xda-developers (check the Wiki or sticky posts under your device's sub-forum).
This link may help: Various devices
Please don't ask me for links, as I don't know everything or own all devices. ;-)
The shipped ROM can be found in three different formats. Identify the type you have downloaded:
If the shipped ROM is in a .ZIP format, then simply copy it to the kitchen's original_update folder.
OR if the shipped ROM consists of system.img and boot.img files, then copy those two files to the kitchen's original_update folder.
OR if the shipped ROM is in an .EXE format, then do the following:
In Windows, run the shipped ROM's .EXE file till it gets to the first dialog. Stop there but don't close the window yet.
Go to Start->Run and type: %TEMP%
When the folder opens, search for Rom.zip (use the "magnifying glass" Search button)
Copy Rom.zip to your kitchen's original_update folder
OR from a cooked/custom ROM:
Copy the update.zip (or equivalent ZIP file) to your kitchen's original_update folder
OR from a Nandroid backup (under /sdcard/nandroid) [NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NON-STOCK ROM BACKUPS]:
Copy the system.img and boot.img files from the backup folder to your kitchen's original_update folder
NOTE: The Nandroid-backup method of ROM customization is not the best method, because the kitchen may not account for various advanced options that were added outside of this kitchen (these options are in the update-script file which was in the original ROM but is not in the backup. The kitchen needs to re-create this file and 'guess' those options). However, it will support Nandroid backups that already have basic features like root, busybox and /data/app functionality.

Nice to know that an arabian is cooking
Waiting your builds because i'm sure you will be incorporating arabic roms and full arabic support by default!
This error sound of something wrong in updater-script, in this kitchen you must:
1. convert updater-script to update-script for working on it
2. convert it back to updater-script before make the zip process.
Anyway fore me it worked at 1st shot and this is what i made and in Dsixda thread there is a good tutorial and a video that explain all.

Thanks for your reply, I did convert it back and forth though but still same error. The tutorials are very nice and I did follow them to the letter. Will try again today after I get back home from work and will try to get another base to start from.

if you wanna say to me what build you are trying to mod and what mod you want to do, i can give it a go and see if i get the same error.

Will test again in an hour or so when I get home and report back. Thanks for your interest.
Just a reminder -- if you have a boot.img in your ROM's working folder, and it didn't get converted to "boot" folder after building the ROM, then you have to do the conversion manually.
1) Select option 20 - "Unpack or re-pack a boot.img"
2) Select option c - "Convert boot.img into NAND boot folder"
Then you can build.
If you are using a custom HD2 ROM then this step is probably not necessary, as the kitchen will aready have created the boot folder and removed the boot.img. To make sure, just open the .ZIP file that was created by the kitchen after building.
Thanks for info Dsixda,
I'm facing a couple of problems with the Kitchen, here they are:
1. In the Kitchen Rom info app2sd are not installed but it still in init.d

So you don't have an "a2sd" file under /system/bin or /system/xbin or anywhere else? What options did you select for apps2sd (e.g. runparts?).

You need to be specific.. what is the error? And when you say 'installation' do you mean while the kitchen is adding the data/app folder, or while the ROM is booting?
Nope, there is nothing in there but there is the script in init.d " 10app2sd", though i'm speaking of original update.zip.

Is it really apps2sd (apps to ext3) or is it just that hack that is used to move all apps to the fat32 partition of the SD card (the option that is in Settings of Cyanogen ROMs)? Can you paste the contents of that file here please (in

I don't know anything about that, probably your device's or ROM's issue because it works elsewhere. When the kitchen adds /data/app to the working folder it only sets the permissions for that folder when flashing.

[ Mod ] Arabic Support Patch for Verizon’s latest OTA v5.10.605.9 for Incredible 2

[ Mod ] Arabic Support Patch for Verizon’s latest OTA update v 5.10.605.9 for Incredible 2 ( VIVOW )
DISCLAIMER
I am not responsible if flashing this Mod results in bricking your phone.
Flashing this or any rom is on your own responsibility
Full Credit goes to madmack for his Great work in developing Arabic Support for Android (shaping texts in android )
thanks goes also to andybones for Rooting the OTA and his excellent Rom
This Patch offers Arabic support , and solve all the Problem of shaping texts in android ( broken Arabic letters ) , this Patch will Solve the Problem for All ( Browser , Gmail , file managers , …. Etc ) , except for adding Arabic Menus .
I am not a developer , I Just Prepared that Patch for People who need it and don’t know how to do it
Anyone can prepare Arabic Support Patch by himself for any Custom Rom ( Visit madmack ) as long as it meets the following requirements :
1. Your device needs to be rooted.
2. Your Android version is 2.1 or newer
3. Your ROM needs to be deodexed ( Usually manufacturer Rom would be odexed which is better . Custom Roms or Rooted OTA usually deodexed for development flexibility )
4. Your rom is not based on MIUI ( closed source )
5. tip : to determine the Rom type , navigate to /system/framework on your phone or the Rom. If the file is called framework.odex then it is Odexed , if its Called framework.jar then it is deodexed.
This Patch worked for me without any Problem , tested on Andybone OTA Rom
How to Apply :
Your device Should be rooted.
It is Always good to Do a NAND first
Enter Custom Recovery CWM and apply the Patch
Sometimes permissions and xml data doesn’t get updated correctly resulting in corrupted data entries. If you receive a bunch of Force Closes after a reboot, you’ll need to Factory Reset

Support for Arabic Menus :
There are some APK’s in the market like More Locale 2 , and similar
( More Locale 2 APK ) adds complete support for All Arabic menus . I did a very brief Quick review for More Locale 2 , i fell into FC with grouping contacts , this is a Bug in the APK itself ( More Locale 2 APK )
maybe I'll try to add menus later
Hope that would help

[Q] Root / No-root

I have a weird kind of "error"
A Quick Explanation:
So i flashed this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1533332
then this kernel : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1172885
then the modules..
Now i have a modded kernel and rom.
kernel: Doomlord v19 1.9Ghz
Rom: Gingerchaos v3.9
but now my root is acting all freaky..
first of all: if i run it i get the pop-up of the last version 3.0.7 or so
then i look under preferences and the version is : Superuse v%1$s(%2$d)
I cannot update it
Tried the fixer / normal update / market update / re-rooting through CMW
And i cannot use a single "root app"
could anybody help me out please?
EDIT: Fixed dont know what i did, but i reflashed stock 4...62 , rom , kernel , modules and it worked ..
Though the superuser ( Superuse v%1$s(%2$d) ) has not changed .. it works ..
Congratsss
