Does anyone know a app that allows you to set certain applications to auto rotate, and others too not auto rotate? I know about all those toggle Widgets, I'm looking foe something that can control the apps ...(something like app protector pro)

10 minutes is the maximum that the display timeout can be set to through settings.
Is anyone else not happy with this?
I use Google Maps in my car sometimes and this makes it unbearable. Yes, I know Navigator is available but prefer maps for some uses. I also use a few other apps that I'd rather leave the display on as well.
It's under developer options.

Yes, as long as you're on the charger, you can use the Develper Option "Stay Awake" to prevent the screen from timing out (though I believe it will still dim).
Alternately, there's an app in the market called "Stay Awake" that will remove the screen timeout entirely.
Hmm. Thanks.
So all we have are half fixes and work arounds? It would be nice if it was simply an option.
Shame I have to run an app to turn that off but I guess I will.
I just told you what the option was.

That only works when charging, though.
Check out the application 'screebl'.
I haven't yet tried to put it on my genex yet but it worked flawlessly with my Droid x. It works with the angle and orientation of your phone go keep it on.

I seem to be having issues running Tasker on CM10. It doesn't crash and it says the profiles are running but it doesn't do anything.
Is anyone rocking the Tasker on CM10?
Thanks.

Works fine over here on CM10. Enabling/Disabling GPS doesn't work, but silencing the phone on a schedule and opening Spotify when headphones are plugged in works just fine.

Interesting... I'm trying to increase the brightness every time I use YouTube and gallery. I will double check.
Thanks

Create a Profile that activates when the app is started, ending when the application exits. Start task should be auto brightness off, set brightness to 255. End task just turns auto brightness back on.

How is your task set up? And it also works to enable lux auto brightness at night so I would assume it can adjust brightness overall.

If your screen is set to auto brightness, you need to turn that off before it can be manually adjusted. Your profile should look something like this:
Starting YouTube:
Auto brightness: Off
Brightness: 255
Ending YouTube:
Auto brightness: On

Thanks,
I did what you said and it does not work. I even turn the auto screen off and ran it with no success.
I should try other profiles to see if it is me not knowing how to create them or the app or something.
What other profiles do you find yourself running.

I haven't made one yet but I'll probably make an auto sync toggle profile to sync mail, etc. I've been looking for some battery savers but last time I tried to disable data a la JuiceDefender I stopped receiving texts for some weird reason.
That's odd. I know for a fact the brightness adjustments work. I'm using the latest CM10. I just built a profile for the YouTube app and it works as expected.
Check attached images. Also, be sure the profile is enabled (green check mark), and that Tasker is on (On button, bottom right corner of screen).

What bothers me is that when I open YouTube, Tasker says that is running the profile but the screen brightness does not change at all. I will reinstall and see if it works and let you know.
I'm running CM10 8-14 version as it runs smooth with no flickering. I'm also running Justin bean inverted g apps, could that be the problem?

In your latest post with attachments, post #11, here is what you are telling Tasker to do:
1: When YouTube app starts, Autobrightness Off (don't know what this task contains, as there is no screenshot of it).
2. When YouTube app closes, Brightness set to 255.
Your profile still doesn't match my attached pictures on page one (or you haven't uploaded new screenshots). Make it identical to mine.
If it still doesn't work, I suspect its your version of CM10. Update it. I know that's not the answer you want, but if the above doesn't work, that's the only one left.

That's for all the help but it didn't work and I did exactly as you suggested. Take a look. It shows as running but it is not turning off the auto brightness. I have tried turning it manually before running the Tasker with no success.
I guess I'll just give it another try once I update the cm10 but I'm happy with the older version and wouldn't want to risk getting all the problem(flickering, echoes, call delay) present on the newer versions.
What version are you on?

Does the Gallery Brightness profile do the same thing? Does that one work?

Always running the latest version. Echoes and call delay were fixed last week. The only flickering that bothers me, is that when I exit certain applications (like Apparatus), the screen has a brightness seizure for a couple seconds. The other flickers look like a redraw; nitpicking. You can always nandroid the current install.

yeah in my GPS on/off profile it always spazzes out at random intervals. and even though i have the profiles connected to cell towers and not GPS or Net, im pretty convinced it's somehow draining my battery. i had no real issues with CM10 (aside from the documented flicker and call delay) until i installed and started trying to use Tasker. now the GPS is glitchy, the vibration turns on/off at random times, so does the wifi and worst yet, actual cell reception gets knocked out altogether. i've triple checked my settings and i know it's not the profiles themselves. i really hope the stable version of CM10 will play nice with Tasker because its such a sweet app.
For GPS, install Secure Settings. It's free and in Play Store. Never have an issue with it controlling GPS from Tasker.

im looking for an app that can concentrate a number of actions to one button that i will be able to put on my Homescreen as a widget, thus saving time by not forcing me to do each and every one of the actions.
for example - i would like to open "waze", turn on bluetooth, turn on the gps and turn off the wifi with just one click
is that possible?
dose anybody know an app who dose that?
(im using an unrooted Nexus 4 and i am aware of the NFC technology - just looking for a different solution.)
thanks a lot!!
Edi.
I thinks Tasker can do this

If you get Tasker right now I believe its on sale. It can definitely do this. You would create a profile for the application Waze, and add tasks for each thing you want to happen when you open Waze.

Has anyone got the default nexus 4 camera app that auto rotates even with screen rotation off.
I can't seem to find one that allows this.
If it works on your current Phone, please post it here for me to try.

Sorry I had it, but I lost it.
It is easy to do this using Tasker app. Let me know if you need the profile.
Profile context: launch app (camera)
Task: auto-rotate (off)
+1 on using Tasker for this.

From my experience (stock rooted), even with rotation off, the pictures get saved in the proper orientation depending on how I hold it. The bets part about having rotation of is that you don't get the whole screen to rotate, which delays the camera a lot. Try it!
This is something annoying that Google should fix, normally, its just the buttons which rotate, not the whole screen
