I recently flashed CM7 and setup voicemail through google voice. I wiped and restored a backup of my Myns Warm 2.2 and now voicemail doesnt work. Im getting emails that they are coming through google voice but I want it back through stock voicemail. How do I fix it?
Go to a sense rom, verify the voice mail works; have someone leave you one. Then backup the app and data with titanium back; flash back to CM7, the restore the app and data only. If that doesn't work, google voice is just as good, if not better [personally like it] or use another third party app.

No I'm not on CM7 anymore. Im back on my Sense Rom and the stock voicemail app isn't receiving them. Im getting emails that google voice is receiving them but I don't want it too anymore.

Have you tried a full data wipe, then reflash the rom? That should fix it; just backup with titanium prior to. Also, in your voice mail settings, it set to carrier, not google voice?

Glad you got it working.

ok so I have been on cm7 for a while and love it. Except I still haven't been able to get the sprint VVM to work. I have installed the gapps 5-9-11 with voicemail and the voicemail is app is there but it is not recieving any voicemails.
Any questions?
I have had google voice installed before, but I will be coming from a fresh install... would this mess anything up?
-on a sense rom, verify the app works
-backup the app and data with titanium backup
-flash back to CM7
-restore app and data with titanium backup
here ya go.
this should save you a little bit of time

I've tried all of the "fixes", and always get the annoying 9016 text. Google voice IMO is a much better app for voicemail and has alot more features than Sprint's VVM (and the VTT is free).
Just updated GV and get fc. Cleared data, uninstall/reinstall and still fc. Any ideas?
Also getting "server error" in Market.
Also tried fixing permissions, and clearing google services framework. Still no luck?

Interesting because i updated and got the fc as well. Not sure if its b/c o the recent update or not since i switched from beta cm7 to bonsai, then started getting fc when i installed gv.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same fc. Cleared data didnt work for me.
Oh and the error i am getting is the java.lang.nosuchmethoderror
Uninstall updates and uncheck box for automatic updates. A lot of people are seeing this.
I recently put the phoenix rom on my phone after having probs with hawk v. 2 for whatever reason. As a noob, phoenix is great as it is everything i could ask for and more. However, I put google voice on my phone. When I used google voice on stock, everytime i would dial a number it would ask if i wanted to use google voice or my number. After I put google voice on phoenix, it would automatically just use my google voice number by default and I could not keep it from doing so in the setttings of the app. Consequently, I deleted google voice and it seemed to have left a scar on my phone. Everytime I call someone, it calls from my gv number. Anything i can do have my original number pop up on peoples phone? And is gv simply not compatable. Messages are also not showing up in the sprint voice mail. Instead I am getting transcribed texts.

I manually updated it. Luckily had a TI backup. Clearing market data gave me back the market.
I'm on Bonsai.... so I don't know why the update fc's!

I'm having issues with Google Voice syncing the conversations done on the website onto my phone.
Here's an image of the texts I sent on the GV website a few minutes ago: http://i.imgur.com/X3fp2.jpg
Here's the same conversation when I open up the GV app on my phone: http://i.imgur.com/Go3dK.jpg
I've attempted to refresh the Google Voice app several times and it just does not sync and show my texts. I also did a full refresh of everything in Accounts and Settings and nothing. Background data is enabled. I am running a stock Galaxy Nexus with 4.04 and the newest Google Voice version.
Anyone have any ideas? Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks
Mine syncs just fine. Even clears notifications on the phone when I view on the web.
Did you go into Google Voice > Settings > Sync and notifications and make sure the app's background data and everything is set up?
Could always try signing out of GV app (which wipes its data) and signing back in to "sync it up".

Yup, that's all setup. It's weird because it syncs the messages I receive, but not the ones I sent myself. I'm going to uninstall/reinstall the app.
Edit: That seems to have done it. Cool.

I'm having the exact same issue. Unfortunately uninstalling/reinstalling didn't work for me. Any other ideas I can try?
I enabled Voice+ for my account when I installed CM10.2 and it really screwed up my texting. Now I only get texts through the default messaging app. I don't get texts anymore when I check voice.google.com on my computer which really sucks. I did all sorts of variations of clicking disable in the Voice+ app, deleting Voice+ from /system/app, and so on. The worst part is is that all my Google Voice messages go straight to the stock messaging app on other roms too. I installed Paranoid Android and this Voice Plus nightmare followed me there too.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I enabled Voice+ once, but quickly disabled it. If you have the app installed, you can just set it to disable and then reboot, at least that's what i did. If you don't have the app/icon in your current ROM, i don't know if there's any way besides reflashing CM temporarily.. Or at least pulling Voice+ from a CM ROM zip and installing it on your current ROM..

I had this same problem. Voice+ royally screwed up not only my phone, but my Google Voice account in general. I couldn't get texts on my phone, on the website, or via the Google Voice app on my tablet! In fact, I couldn't even log out of the app on my tablet, even after disabling Voice+ on my phone! I had to uninstall the Voice app on my tablet, and do a full wipe/reinstall of CM on my phone. Then reinstall Voice on my tablet, and now everything seems to be working the way it should! *knock on wood*
Delete Handscent Next SMS APP
I had the same issue with CM 12.1.
I Had the Next SMS(Handcent) app and after removing it the problem resolved.
I did not have the Voice+ everyone is talking about and I have Nexus 5

Hi there to the best community of developers! :good:
I’m having an issue with Google Hangouts SMS notifications. I don’t know if it has to do with my phone or not but I have a Galaxy S3 T999 and when I receive an SMS, hangouts doesn’t notify me. On the other hand if I receive a hangout chat I instantly receive a notification. I have turned on the SMS notifications in the Hangout's settings. I also turned off the notifications in the stock Messaging app and in Go SMS app which I was using before moving to hangouts. I thought it might have to do with a conflict with other SMS app notifications, but that neither has resolved the issue. I’ve read through the forum but haven’t found anything related, so I will really appreciate any help on this.
No SMS alerts
I am also experiencing this issue.
When I go into the settings of Google Hangouts there is a section for SMS in which the only options for notifications is for sounds.
I will receive both a icon in the notification bar, my notification light will blink, and an alert will go off when I receive a Google Hangouts message, but nothing for SMS.
I am running 4.1.2 on a Galaxy S3 - SGH-I747
Freeze GoSMS and Stock SMS. Wipe data for Hangouts and then reboot. Login to Hangouts and set all the preferences all over.
No luck

How do you mean "freeze" the apps?
I cleared their cache and did a Force Stop. I wiped Hangouts and rebooted, set my preferences and still nothing.
I also set Hangouts as my Default Messaging App.
Still no notifications.
Titanium Backup will freeze the apps.
Thanks!

Thanks Perseus71 for your response! I did as you suggested and it indeed solved the problem. I wonder though if someone with a non-rooted Galaxy S 3 T999 could solve this issue since Titanium Backup is for rooted devices only. But again thanks for your support.

They can still do it without freezing, all you gotta do is uncheck the option in gosms to disable other SMS app notifications

Yes its possible to do for Non-Rooted devices. In Settings > Apps , you can hit disable for the given app. If you had any updates, then you will have to remove them first before you will get the Disable button.
