I just put the new gingerbread rom for the Droid x on my friends x and I really like the portrait to landscape mode animation. Is there anyway to port that to cm7? It makes the transition seem much more smoother. I will see if I can find a YouTube video link.

I'd like this too. Is it a Gingerbread feature, or a Droid-specific feature?
I think its a motoblur feature from Motorola. I can't find a video of it but its pretty much the same animation adobe reader uses for the transition.

im tired of the same old boring cm7 lockscreen, i want something new, but is pretty much all the same, sliders side to side or upside down, and such, im in the look for something like the Samsung galaxy x lockscreen that looks like you are turning a book page, or something different, any ideas? I've been looking but no luck.
thanks people!

Liquidvillian rom for sure is one of the coolest lockscreens.. or miui, I use miui mostly for the lockscreen.. but still the "up and down" slide you refer too.. still mixes it up a bit.

Yeah liquidvillian lockscreen is awesome and that's something like I want, and miui is cool too and differs from the ordinary, but I could never get the lockscreen working it kept the normal lockscreen

Liquidvillian is nice but pointless for all the pages cause widgets you can't fully utilize.. and idk anyone that wants 5 screens for their lockscreen.. just different I guess. If your talkin about miui 2.3 then update to the latest build by g4rb4g3 and it should have the latest miui lock screen. I just came from that rom..

Ive seen this on the new Dual Core Motorola phones. Is there anyway we can get this on the Epic Touch 4G? More clarity..The screen ui rotation like the iPhone. That would be super sweet!! Thanks..

With all the fancy transition effects with the Go Launcher I'm running, I'm surprised there's no rotation transition effects.
On the OGEvo MikG has adopted this in his Tom somehow. Maybe someone can ask him on how we do this for out phone.
any updates?

Talked to a buddy of mine about this...
There's an app called spare parts that lets you add different animations and transitions to the phone.
He commented that for android 1.5 and maybe 1.6 you could add fancy rotation animations, but for later versions it won't.
It's also not an option in go launcher, though there are tons of other animations.
Maybe this no longer exists in stock android? Maybe HTC had to reinvent the wheel and add lots of custom code to make this happen for their sense UI?

Its in ICS, so I'm sure it will be ported over when we get a rom.
Bump.
So more "Spin" and less brash.
I hope we can get it ported over, looks sweet.
Does anyone know of a way to get screen rotation animations on our phones? (sort of like how the iPhone screen rotates when you rotate the screen) I would much rather have that than the screen just rotating.
Also if I remember right there used to be an option for this in spare parts for android 1.5 but it now seems to be gone.

Wait for ICS.

What he said. It hasn't been supported since Cupcake or Donut, probably because it wasn't smooth enough at that time.
Well, you could try to port the animation over from MotoBlur. It would probably take longer then just an ICS port, considering all the framework hassle.
Oh alright but does ics come with the animation stock or are you just saying that people will make it for ics builds?
ICS will come with it stock

I prefer wallbase to be honest, use it on my phone and desktop.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
These are much better quality and have every resolution you need. I've tried Wallbase, but after saving and setting as my wall, the quality is not as good as I expect.

All seem to be landscapes though, as much as I like landscapes on my desktop, my android I like abstract and CGI stuff.

Zedge is ok, but they don't do high quality portrait pictures. I prefer portrait to landscape and IFL does that.
I appreciate different opinions, but I thought the community would benefit from this site. No harm done.

Wallpaer of Samsung Galaxy SIII
Hi everyone. I would like to have the wallpaper of Samsung Galaxy SIII. The flower wallpaper. Can someone suggest where I can get that??
I made a patch that changes the transition animations when opening and closing apps to the one from ICS. I hated how laggy the close animation is especial in portrait mode. The jellybean switching between two apps animation is still there. The recents one is as well. Trebuchet still uses the open animation as that seems to be coded into the launcher. It used the Ics animation when closing an app or hitting the home button which was the one that was generally laggy with the jellybean animation. Nova launcher has the option to use the ICS transition when opening apps. This patch extends that to make it across the entire operating system and not just the launcher.

Yeah, I don't know why Google switched the opening and closing animation. The close one is really laggy.
