Hello,
Way over my head again, just a question:
Is there an official update for my CDMA HTC Desire? I am using it with Open Mobile in Puerto Rico. 2.05.10.08.11 is the baseband, 2.1 update1. It does not want to update anything, says it's all updated.
I saw a thread with a US Cellular (CDMA) RUU but I'm not certain my phone will work with Open Mobile if I flash a ROM designed for a different carrier.
47 reads, no replies?
I've spent some time looking on the forums... I wouldn't have posted if I found what I was looking for.
Anyway I'm putting Alpharev on a CD - since I couldn't make a bootable USB with it.
I made a custom CDMA 2.2 ROM, it's somewhere in ROM Development

Hello.
I got my Desire in HK but did not think of having an Asian ROM on it.
Can I just flash a European ROM on it or will I run into problems?
I found a page with stock ROMS in the forum (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667) - which one should I use?
I would also like to change to an European ROM on my Desire from Asia. Is it possible to use one of the offical ROMS?
I just successfully flashed a WWE ROM and haven't run into any problems as of now.
I used one of the official ones available on xda. However I used a goldcard even though my device was unbranded.

Which ROM did you use? I am not so much into this, so what is a goldcard?
Did you have to set the phone up once again or did the settings survive? How about the installed apps?

This is the ROM I used. You can find it in the post you shared above. The second WWE ROM.
Preparing a Goldcard is a relatively easy process and you can find tutorials and in the android development section of the forum.
My settings didn't survive. As far as I know there is no complete backup solution for unrooted phones.

I guess I then will just wait for the next release - no point in spending hours to flash the same firmware version with no other benefits.
I am a proud owner of my new HTC Desire HD. I have to say it is impressive thus far. I bought it factory direct world unlocked. I know that it is the Android Froyo 2.2 operating system, not sure of the radio. This is my very first android phone as I have switched over from Windows Mobile when I had my HTC Rhodium. The Questions I have are these:
1. If it is world unlocked from the factory to work with any GSM carrier do I have to worry about unlocking it to add new roms?
2. This phone is not available in the US as they do not support the towers, but it will still work on the 2G/EDGE mode. Is there a radio upgrade to make it work?
3. I know that Android 2.3 and 3.0 have come out, is there a factory version of either of these available here or anywhere for the DHD?
4. What is the best course of action I can take to get the most out of my new android phone?
Thank you for all of your help, this site has been so great to me in the past!
I recently installed a custom ROM on my CDMA HTC Desire for USCC and i forgot to back up my phone and now im stuck on the cydongenmod rom and i cant get back to the original htc 2.1 sence UI, does anybody have the files so i can restore my htc desire back to stock!!!!!!
All I could find were RUU's. Here and here. I know that USCC haven't released their RUU yet.
You should link to Shipped-ROMs directly, those threads are out of date:

CDMA Desire RUU (there's only one)

No, they got up to date CDMA roms, well only one like but still. I don't know much about CDMA anyway.
Hi I am planning to flash a custom ROM on my HTC desire A8181.
One of the prerequisites i found is that i keep a copy of my Stock ROM ready.
I couldnt find the specific froyo RUU for my Bravo -HTC Desire on shipped-roms(dot)com website neither on XDA.
My Build number is 2.13.720.2 and Baseband Version 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 . Is it necessary that i should use the exact same custom ROM or can i use one that is with the same baseband version.
Sorry if i dint make sense but i am jus a beginner and really energised to try out the latest ROM.
Pls help.
will this be sufficient ??? [2.13.707.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2]

The number A8181 means, the phone is for europe and asia. So this could also be the right one:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe
Furthermore, this one is newer. The ruu you guys give him is older than this current version.

Thanks for that updated one MatDrOiD
so one can install the latest Stock RUU for his/her device provided it is one that belongs to a device from the same region.
Jus to make my understanding clearer ..what sort of dependency (in version) does a Stock ROM have on a Device ?
HTC-A510a, that is the marvelC correct? It's the Wildfire S purchased from virgin mobile canada, and all signs point to yes this is the less supported version, does HTC Dev properly unlock it? (can't find confirmation of that anywhere) and then I guess I know I can only flash the MarvelC compatible roms on it sadly, so would probably just flash CM9 or an old sense 2.1 ROM but either way, mainly want it for using the SD card for internal memory.
Thanks in advanced!
I'm not so sure that A510a is the Marvel C.
A510c is the Marvel C (CDMA), but the A,B versions are also 3G devices, they just communicate on differenct frequencies.
