Hi,
I have noticed my phone charges much quicker via the USB on my PC. It takes about 2 hours to charge fully, while the wall charger takes 3-5 hours to charge like 40% or something.
The specifications for the wall charger are:
INPUT: 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz 0.2A
OUTPUT: 5.1V=== 850mA
I do'nt know what the specs for my USB port are? Can I check it in the BIOS? I have googled and found it's something around 5V 500mA, so technically my phone would charge slower...
This is how the wall charger looks like (you can unplug the USB-cable and use it on the PC since it's not a standard USB-mini connection).

Well the 500mA is the minimum spec for USB, basically they say its at least 500mA so that manufactures know how much power to expect and can design devices to run at that amount of power or less. That being said, USB can be anything above 499mA, I have seen a laptop put out 2000mA before even. So yes it is quite possible that your computer could put out over the 850mA of your charger. It probably won't say what its capable of delivering in your BIOS, if you really want to know you could try to find the specs for your computer/mobo/usb chipset. All that being said, you could always get a different USB wall adapter if you wanted to charge faster w/o a computer, just because it came with the one you currently use doesn't mean you have to use it (it is just a powered USB port after all).

I could not find my GT10.1 wall charger the other day, so on a whim I tried my Fascinate's wall charger (with GT 10.1 cable). This wall charger seemed to charge the GT 10.1 with no issue.

As should any USB type charger. My iPhone charger and my Jawbone Icon headset charger worked as well but takes longer to charge due to the lower current rating.
Agree with MisterEdF.
I have the same plug with my Nexus S and my Epic. Both WILL charge but it's slow as hell and there's definitely the Red X letting me know that it's not the 5v2a charger the tab would like to see. Can't see why the Fascinate charger would be any different...
I believe that is a .5a charger and our tabs come with a 2a. The most it really can do is slow the battery drain. It'll take at least 4x the amount of time to charge.

I dunno. Over a ~couple hour period the battery went from 24% to ~50%. Not as fast as the stock charger, but certainly not zero.

It will slow the drain if you are using it but if you simply want to charge it over night it should be fine in a pinch.

And so will the B&N Nook Color charger. Essentially, any one will work but the standard, lower capacity ones might take forever to charge. The Nook Color charger provides ~1.9A @ 5 Vdc in place of the more standard sub-1 Amp chargers.
There have been quite a few people that have come into one of the IRC channels for this phone with complaints of very slow charging batteries. There have been a lot of theories regarding the slow charging, but after testing for about a week I think I may have a possible solution.
Many stated that they were using USB ports on their computers or USB hubs, while others stated that they were using the wall adapter's from their old phones. The problem with this is that, although USB 2.0 ports have 5v output (the same as a wall outlet), they only MAX out at 500mA (milliamps) or .5amps. USB 3.0 ports output at 900mA, so this is almost twice as much as 2.0...but still more than half as low as the wall charger. Also, not all wall adapters will handle the same electrical output. They range anywhere from .5amp through 2amps. The one that Samsung bundles with this phone is 2amps.
So, if you are experiencing extremely slow charging while connected via USB to your computer or hub (or even using the wall adapter for your old phone) then you may want to charge your phone via the supplied wall adapter. I realize that its probably inconvenient as most like to connect their phone to their computer while they are at it, but you can't have it both ways. And for anyone that thinks that their USB 2.0 ports are somehow magical and their phone charges more quickly than others through this method, it's not possible as 500mA MAX is the industry standard.
I tested my, and my girlfriend's, phones for the last week, and this is indeed very much the case. Laptops can put out slightly more amperage, but it is negligible.
Charging tests were performed on 2 different laptops and 2 different desktops (one through a hub and one direct to the USB port on the PC itself).
Charging from dead via USB took ~8 hours (one actually took about 12 hours during one of the laptop tests) to fully charge from dead.
Charging from dead with the supplied wall adapter on either phone took ~2-3 hours.
Charging from dead using the wall adapter from the HTC Evo 4G took each phone ~6 hours.
I realize that this will vary in some degrees from user to user, but I think for the most part it will be correct. I also had two friends run similar tests (one used the Evo 4G charger and one used the Evo 3D charger) and their results were very similar.
Most of this is probably common knowledge to many people, but for those that didn't know, I hope this helps.

i have no charging issues, what i have found is that the charging light wont go on after low battery warning unless i power off phone and then reboot.
and to stay on topic..
2-3 hours a/c charger
4-6 hours usb or d/c
light use gets me 2 days on battery - stock / no root

I do have different adapters but its not the same like the real one, most of them don't fit. Moreover i use a EzoPower travel international wall charger but the speed of charging is less then half of the real charger.

I use all sorts of third party chargers and they pretty much all work, What you need to look for is the rated amperage. the GN needs a 1 amp charger, most chargers out there for cell phones are rated at 750 mA or 500 mA.
You should also check to make sure the phone is in "AC Charge" mode, as this will indicate that it's trying to draw the full power from the wall charger, if it's set as "USB Charge" it will only draw 500mA regardless of what it's connected to. You can cheat this by shorting the two data pins, this will force the phone into AC mode.
something like this would do the job, at 2 amps, it's overkill, but I assure you, your phone will charge *Very* fast.

The trick, look for chargers designed for the Ipad that have a USB port, then use your own wire.

So I was wondering, When I dont use My dash charger the OP3 only charges with a maximum of 1.5A eventhough im using the Dash cable.

1.5A is limit of most cables so.. u can change it with the chance of a melting cable.
I would be quite unwise to go higher.

While it can likely be done from the kernel side, I would advise against it. Some of the OnePlus 3 charging circuit has been offloaded to the Dash charging brick so we don't know how the phone/battery would react to a higher wattage standard charge. Could damage the board/battery or cause a fire.

Exactly - this is the reason OP3 charges fast only with DASH and nothing else (except VOOC which is the same thing).
It doesn't have the necessary internals to handle other fast charging solutions. And everything above 1.5A at 5V is considered fast charging.
If it could be done safely, someone would do it already; the device has been out for months and there are many custom kernels and ROMs.
We have enough burning phones already *cough*Note7*cough*, please don't try to detonate our beloved OnePlus 3 ?

USB-C can support far more (As is the case with the Nexus 5X/6P doing 3A) so the cable is not the issue.
the fast charging circuitry being offloaded to the charger itself is likely the main reason the phone can't do more than 1.5A, and if so, SW mods can't change that since it's a HW capability the OP3 lacks.
Honestly, there was no reason for this phone to have USB-C at all in terms of charging speed - this could have been done the same with microUSB.
Mines in the mail, I got it from Ali, gsmarena (I think it was gmsarena...) says its QC3 AND PD at 33w.
Fairly certain the bundled charger won't natively work in my countries power points even though it will come with an adapter.
Can anyone tell.me what specific charging protocols it uses, is QC3, QC4, FC2 or PD? I wanna get a single port wall wart that does the top speed charge to leave in my man bag

Looks like, but I'm not an expert. Have not tested many adapters. I know one thing about it though. Huawei adapters didn't fit my Poco F1 in the past (they were too strong maybe, or had another standard).

What cables are you using? I tried charge with xiaomi powerbank 45w pd or 45w aukey max I am getting 46xx with following cables

To achieve full charing speed you need mi turbo capable charger. You will see mi turbo instead of quick charge icon (attached ss) I tried official xiaomi powerbank 3 pro 45w pd using type c to type c (100w capable cable) it doesn't show mi turbo. So it's not full speed.
Update you guys it's using 11v3a I think, it's going to be harder to find one. Their faster charger uses 20v3.25a if not mistaken i seen a Huawei powerbank that has this. Can it give out mi turbo I don't know. I attach spec of their 55/65w charger and Huawei powerbank spec. I am atm looking for a mi turbo capable powerbank. Apologies in advanced for any mistake.
