[Q] Youtube Upload - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, I have been looking around. It seems that I can't upload YouTube videos from my phone anymore? The camcorder icon from the YouTube widget is not longer there, the option is not in the menu, and I can't share the video to YouTube from the gallery. I recently updated from DK28 Bonsai to SyndicateROM Frozen 1.1.0 on EC05 and everything runs great except the option to upload is gone. Does anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions? I am logged into my account and have tried adding a new YouTube account but the option still doesn't exist. I have also tried uninstalling YouTube and reinstalling without success.

What app are you using to look at your pics? If your not using quickpic then get that from the market and see if that has it on the option to upload it yo YouTube

I experience the same issue. I have found 3 others who have posted this exact issue in the SyndicateRom thread. Quickpic did not workaround the issue. If I knew where to file a bug report, I would.
All other issues I have with SyndicateRom Frozen 1.1.0 are known bugs.

YouTube issues?

Anybody having any YouTube issues? I'm using the YouTube widget and when I go searching for a particular video ('lookin' ass nigga houston' don't ask, haha) it says 6693 results for 'lookin ass nigga' and then where video results show up it says 'No videos found.' This was really embarrassing when my buddy with an iPhone was able to look it up and I was not. I'm running DamageControl 3.0 right now but when the problem showed up it was using OMJ ROM. The problem shows up on both ROMs. Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on? When I look up offroad unicycling I get videos but this one in particular, not so much.

[Q] YouTube rarely(read: almost never)plays videos...please help me! Thank you

Ill do anything to fix this.
More often than not, YouTube will tell me 'there was a problem playing the video. touch to retry'.
This is unacceptable. Also, when a video does play, it will play halfway, stop and do what seems to be loading the rest of the vid.
Please tell me there is a tweak or something or other that I can apply, hopefully via EPST or a modified YouTube app.
Really looking forward to fixing this problem. Today I was attempting to show a very interested barnes and noble employee a video of honeycomb on the nook...the video would not play. Needless to say, I was a little embarrassed.
Please help!
Thank you thank you
Have you tried un-installing and re-installing the app?
-Update flash player
-Using the modified flash player?

Please elaborate on the modded flash player. I was using the YouTube app to attempt to play the videos. Even if I go to the youtube mobile site, it launches the youtube app and then...you guessed it, it doesnt play. Ive applied various tweaks in epst. tomorrow, ill be able to try real world 3g action, playing vids via the youtube app. i could actually try it now...
ive applied tweaks such as:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922978
also: http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/1960/63/ (which is currently back to default)
This is very disheartening. Thanks for your help!
Ah I see. Well they do seem clear, but I can't personally tell you any results because personally haven't had to use them. Though for the flash player go to te thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688054 download the zip in the first post. Put it on the root of your sd card and install like any other app. THOUGH you need to uninstall your current flash player for this to work. Also, DO NOT update your flash player after you install the patched one. Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure is the 3G hack for faster speeds messsing with YouTube It happened to me before you probably changed something that you shouldn't had, do a nandroid backup and flash the role.clean and if YouTube plays then you did something wrong with the hack, male sure you only put the 0 and the 0.0.0.0 on the HTTP wtv proxxys only no the one on top, that's what I did wrong and my YouTube would only play in wifi
You don't need to flash the clean rom you can check the setting first

Note2 not updating video library..

Hi guys,
im also a proud owner of a note 2 since yesterday, stepping up from a s3.
But i have a little problem witch i cant solve or understand by my self.
The problem:
When downloading, lets say an episode from a tv show threw aTorrent and it had completed download i cant find it in the video player app, it is like it is hasnt updated it yet.
When i go manualy threw my file folders i CAN find.
So it is in there.
The only way now to update the video player is to, or reboot the Note2 or wait for 30 some minutes before it shows in the video player library.
I didnt had this problem with the S3 as it updated the library almost instantly.
Is this a known bug? Or am i doing something wrong?
Is there a solution to this?
Thanks allot guys!

Never had this problem, i throw my episodes (arround 1gig each, HD) just on my External and Internal SD and its instantly in the video player, try force closing the video player and reopen it, maybe it does refresh then.
When I download picture messages, sometimes it takes a minute or so to show up in the gallery, so I know what the OP is speaking about. Not sure how to fix it though. I just clear RAM and check the gallery until it shows in there.
I have the exact same issue .

I have the same issue since s3 and I feel it's a bug from jelly bean. Bug is that media is not updated in the gallery. The only solution I found is to run the media scanner again. The easiest way is the "scan media" app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5kY2Quc2Nhbm1lZGlhIl0.
Just run it once after you download anything, after a couple of minutes, media will appear in gallery.
Thank you so much guys!
Glad to here it is a bug of some kind.
Now with the scan media app as sohebq has mentioned i can directly update the library with succes.
Lets hope this bug will be fixed in the next update.
Thnx again fellow geeks

[Q] Roku app update.

So Roku updated their remote app yesterday. They added to the "Play on Roku" feature to allow us to now play videos on the Roku like the iPhone. I have the option within the app to play pictures and video. But no pictures or video are listed.
I can go into gallery and share my pictures to Play on Roku. But none of my videos give me this option. Tried recorded videos and downloaded videos.
Anyone able to stream videos with the updated app? The support.roku.com site is pretty out of date, and figured I would get a quicker response here.
Edit: it seems they removed the share feature from the new 2.3 version. So you can only play videos via the app. Can someone who hasn't updated dump the 2.2 version for me? Apparently play on video was added in 2.2, but wasnt in the change log, so i had no idea the feature was there. You could share via a file manager or gallery. And I already have and use juice, but would rather use 1 app than 2 for the Roku.
Edit2: here you go. I found the 2.2 apk.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_2NNDoNW6ejR0VtY25JMVR3Tjg/edit?usp=docslist_api
**fixed the link permissions. It is now public.
Edit3: talked for a bit to a live rep and sent them a bunch of screenshots. Hopefully will hear back from them today.

Try a different video player app from the playstore.
What about vevo, YouTube, dolphin, bleacher report app? Tried any of those? Flash isn't supported by anything but dolphin and that's still unstable.
