I have unlocked the mobile with Chevron and have installed TouchXplorer.
How can i see the explorer of the mobile through the PC (WIN7), not with zune.
What program can i use for that.
I want to put the navigator program in it (not install but copy/paste), like the old times...
Search other post first before making new thread please

omg dude google it !!!
No hope
I can't find anything.
Give me a trace plz!
using Google/Bing and typing... "windows phone 7 as usb drive"... second link... http://pocketnow.com/windows-phone/use-windows-phone-7-as-a-usb-drive
i hope you realise that none of the windows mobile 6.5 stuff will actually install onto windows phone 7...
only things that will work on it is what you can get out of the market place, and what homebrew apps have been made explicitly for windows phone...

Sorry if this sound a very stupid question.
I am new to Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista.
I've installed some programs and don't like some. I removed them from my PPC, but I can't seem to find a way to remove the installation files on my computer. I remember I used to be able to remove the files in Activesync before (I am referring to the Add/Remove Program list on Device Center)
Any one knows?
Thanks for your time.

You really need to look harder or just try and experiment...
Now that I've fired off the mandatory chastisement, let me try to be somewhat helpful....
When your phone is connected to your Desktop, Right click on your active sync icon in your Desktop Windows taskbar. Select "Explore". You'll get a windows explorer. You can just drag and drop the CAB file from your Windows Desktop to that folder, and viola! a Cab file is now on your PPC.
From there, explore to that same directory from your PPC using File Explorer (if you haven't figured out how to get CABs installed on your PPC yet, you probably aren't using Resco Explorer yet, either ). From the the PPC explorer, just click the CAB file and it'll install.
I hope that helps.

Ah see, mine is having issues as I am on Vista Ultimate... and well it isnt Ultimate with syncing, Guess if I use the XP comp I may have seen this with no issue.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH THOUGH! That was a big help!
obcviously your new to ppc's, Welcome to xda-devs and a world of a love and hate relationship!
just keep in mind .cab's install within the ppc and .exe's usually install with activesync while your device is connected to your pc. If you have a .exe give you a Win32 error, that means it runs on the ppc as well.
You could also send the CAB file using bluetooth OR by e-mail. Then simply receive the mail on your ppc, detach the attachment (the CAB file) and proceed from there.
By the way: after you install the CAB, you can delete it from you ppc, to save space.
Oh, and should this thread not be in the general forum in stead of WM6?

WINRAR.... is installed on my machine and cab's were viewed as RAR's (I figured everyone rar'd or zipped em, so I was unpacking them and trying to install that way of the setup.xml But I put one unpacked on the PPC and it looks like an executable so I confirmed and then installed, I am no tracking... MicroSD card... Nokia carries mainly Mini's I have 3 minisd's with only a little need for any of the three...
CANT DELETE (tried top thread normal BB Code spot in advance, admin or mod if you see this please delete I figured it out with help from the fine board members you have.)

There is a tutorial around here somewhere that someone created to explain how to get AS working or at least to change the drivers for the tool that Vista uses to the AS drivers so that you can sync in Vista.
I haven't read it myself as I am still using XP Pro and haven't needed to, but have heard several people say that it solved their Vista nightmares as far as their Hermes devices go.
The technique is described in my guide HERE give it a go, however if it doesnt work this technique is the same as described elsewhere in the forum and as such you should try to get access to an XP machine until vista is conquered.
Ive had many PMs saying it works fine so it is definatly worth a shot
In Vista, the process of copying a cab or other file from the PC to the WM device is even easier. Vista has default USB drivers that show the WM device in Vista File Explorer and you can drag and drop items from one system to the other when they are connected over USB.
If you connect a WM device and then run Windows Update, the Vista Mobile Device Center update will automatically download and you will have all the features of ActiveSync automatically.
The procedures described by Mr Vanx are of course if you want to use your Vista PC to upgrade the ROMs on your WM device and other such advanced technical things that you should avoid until you've gained some experience!
Hope this helps.

If you having problems with Vista you could install the cab file onto your memory card if you have a card reader, and then run it from your device by tapping on it. I can vouch for the Vista fix that mrvanx pointed out as I have used it myself, it is all clearly described with full screenshots and I think you should give it go, just follow each step and do exactly as it says!
Please lower the volume down. I'ts a little bit noisy. Thanks.

I tired to install windows 8 by way of usb flash drive method. I got as far as to which drive i wanted to install windows 8 on i have 2 hard drives 1 tb and a 1.5tb i formatted both drives thinking this program was gonna install then the install failed said something about being unable to install. I was pissed off then i had to reinstall windows 7 Ultimate all over again. My flash drives are 16GB and a 4Gb and the 16GB had the windows 8 software on it.

That never worked for me. I always look for an easy way of doing things but it keeps failing so I end up doing the long way, but I think it's much safer and at least you know what's happening.

Man .. at least think of what happened first then try to do it all over again, try different flash drives, make a 2 copies and use the other one if the other one failed. Some files might be corrupted while you're on the process of transferring files from the ISO to flash drive.
Making a video is more frustrating than installing.

I never had that problem though. I have my windows 7 installed on SATA 1 with two partitions and installed on partition 1 and windows 8 on SATA 2 with also 2 partitions.and w8 is installed on partition 2. quite a complicated drive setup.
thanks guys will try this later on tonight when i get off from work.
I'll try to use the old Win7/Vista method (format thumb drive to FAT, write to the boot sector using bootsect.exe then copying the installation files from the ISO) to install the RTM (still downloading it, will need at least 3 days to finish it).
BTW, I used Windows 7's native burner to create the installer DVD. Windows 7 can natively burn ISO's and retain the bootable info from the ISO.
I can put the ISO to USB drive with Windows 7 USB Tool (or something like that), but the win8 won't boot at all after (halfway) installed. looks like display driver issue to me ... d*mn ....
OPEN CMD
1. diskpart
2. list disk
3. select disk x (où x est le numéro de votre clé USB)
4. clean
5. create partition primary
6. active
7. format fs=fat32 quick
8. assign
Put the file inside from CD or ISO.
Restart your PC and tape touch to run option boot, check your usb drive...
and install it...
Hey guy's, I brought a new HTC 8s on our independence day replacing my explorer. It is too good to see but many issues in it (possibly will be fixed in next updates). The only thing I want on it that to use the non-store apps. I have tried but the downloaded files are showing unsupported error message. As windows support .xap files (as .apk in android as we know), so I don't think it will create any issue by using non-store apps.
please suggest........

Hello, I don't know but I think that Windows Phone is the same of iOS ecosystem: you can download Apps only from Windows Phone Store.
Even though you can manually download xap file, store it on Sd-Card, the installation procedure will look to the Windows Phone Store to verify it. No way to install application without the Store.

but no developer is interested to create apps or games as compared to Android

Hi guys,
I am currently selling my Lumia 920 with Windows 10 Mobile installed thanks to a guide somewhere on xda. I have a buyer but he insist on having Whatsapp on the phone. On my Microsoft account I installed the app on the Windows Store without any problem. After restoring the phone, when he puts his account, he can't install the app because it says the device is not supported... I guess it is because the app was on my download history but not in his.
I tried to install the file via the XAP file but it doesn't work (I guess because it comes from the store and it is protected somehow). Is there a solution for this issue ?
Thanks !
Wait.

1. install whatsapp with your account
2. make a installation backup of whatsapp
3. Install it using wpv xap deployer on his account
