Title says it all.
Yep, blocked or somethings gone wrong.
Market enabler says it is working and access is ready. Go into market, select all apps and then change view to paid.
Getting message "no matching content in Android Market"
Killed tasks, started phone from scratch and still the same.
No problems here...
anyone got any help here please?
I can still see paid apps with my rooted while unlocked hero using market enabler.
Fixed it.
Market enabler was defiantly blocked/or bust in on my phone. Reinstall of app failed, everything failed except for....well PM me for details because I ain't posting it here. I have a feeling it may have been a deliberate act either by Google or Netcom though I cannot see how the later could have achieved this.
Same here.
Worked a couple of days ago.
Not anymore.
Have Onecall and that uses telenor and network Norways net.
Not netcom. Is Google that is ****ing us over again.
Same here , since yesterday , i cannot see paid aps in Market with ME

Basically it says that 3.0 beta works if you set it to o2-de.
And I can confirm that it works (for how long, who knows)
Right now I'm buying out the market in case someone at Google decides it'll be a good idea to remove paid apps again.
I just wish I could actually locate CoPilot GPS....

Just tried,
It works when installing 3.0 beta like you said. I can also see CoPilot on the list of top paid apps.
Can you tell me if this:
http://www.cyrket.com/package/com.alk.copilot.marketplace.na.full
shows up?
Or if the North American one from here shows up:
http://www.alk.eu.com/copilot/android/
I tried both using all 4 profiles in ME3 and none show up.
Calm down, calm down.
As I said, I have sussed the problem and it is not the blocking of T-mobile. It is your operator resetting your location and there is a simple fix.
I have reproduced the problem and a a workaround. Think about it, how can the operator block you if you are on wifi? The market enabler spoofs the location of the phone so the operator sends a message to the unit to reset location back to the home country provider. Google then blocks that as it was before the phone was Market Enabled. All you have to do get the phone back into a position of spoofing its location.
They could not block access for the T-mobile spoof as that would piss of all American Android users on T-Mobile who are not spoofing but have it for real. Therefore country id, in the marketplace, must be a combination of two factors. Google has just found a way of resetting one. I worked out a way of putting it back.

Ummm, I guess you're right. It doesn't show up. I guess the US T-Mobile profile is blocked?
OH come on read please.
For the last sodding time it's not blocked! I am on the T-mobile spoof address after resetting my location!
or if nothing works anymore you go the easyest way like i do since yesterday..... takeout my Orange Swiss simcard, put it in my X1, make it as a router, put my german Simyo simcard into my hero and go online by wifi over X1 if im on the way or use my wify at home...... if using a german simcard oder another one from an activated country everything will work wherever you are
Those of you who already have the DHD in your hands, could someone confirm or reject the following about the GPS software?
- I've read that the software included with DHD is on a subscription basis so, you need to pay monthly or yearly fees to use it. Is it true?
- What software is included for GPS?
- Can anyone confirm if maps with street names for Cyprus are included?
- Finally, in case that the included software is either unavailable for Cyprus or the subscription is not cheap enough, could we install MLS destinator which is alerady working fine for Cyprus?
I don't want to bother the GPS software original come from DHD....
I rather use CoPilot.... more better...
The google GPS not really good enough compare with others GPS Apps...
I use Google Maps with Voice Navigation, no charges for that. There is another Nav app on the phone where the maps are there but not the voice (I think) you have to pay for the extras.
For me Google Maps are fine.
You have to buy features for the software. Turn-by-turn navigation, speedcams, traffic info, etc. The software and maps are free.

2 applications are included:
1. Google Maps and you can download Google navigation (maps are not on the phone so you need a connection at all times).
2. HTC Locations. This is using the well known Route 66 software as a basis. You can download all of the country maps worldwide for free on your phone. And you can use it for free.
If you need added services, such as navigation, speedcams & traffic info you have to pay a sub.

You can install any navigation sofware that works on Android.
Personally, I use Navigon.

My friend, I appreciate your interest to help and I thank you but what you just said here is a big foul. Just think.
Hey andreasy!
I live in Cyprus too, and as far as i can tell, the HTC software will NOT work in Cyprus cause there aren't Cyprus maps, which is really unfortunate.
But "iGo My Way" does, and it has a Cyprus map too. I have it on my computer here and it works on the android emulator. pm me if you need some help.
Thanks. Do you by any chance know about MLS destinator availability on Desire HD and if iGO can compare to MLS? I use it on a PNA and I am quite satisfied.
Does iGO have all the street info and POIs like MLS (ATM, Gas stations, etc?)
to be honest i haven't heard of MLS. I google'd it and it looks like there is an android version so it should work with DHD.
As for iGO check your pms.

Are there not supposed to be maps stored for the 'Maps' app already on the phone?
I was under the impression that I could use pre-loaded maps on the phone, at least thats how HTC made it sound, but it seems I need to be connected to Wi-Fi or network data to use this app, am I doing something wrong or will it only work in the 'locations' app you mentioned?
NVM caught the answer in this thread.
There are preloaded maps for the Location app. You can download more maps for free. However it is only for Locations app. Google Maps needs internet connection to work. If you don't have data plan or in roaming, you can use Location app without any data being transfered, however your GPS fix could take longer without AGPS.

I have the DHD in Cyprus. Google maps works and it has street names. However Google cannot give you driving instructions. It is possible to download country maps from Android market but Cyprus in not included. Basically you cannot use driving instructions in Cyprus but you can view maps and see street names.
I am not sure if MLS has released an Android version but I know that there are other GPS software you can install. I will try and find out which software works for Android and I will let you know
Thanks, I have been using MLS destinator 7 & 8 and I am quite satisfied with the software itself and the included POIs but the maps are outdated and no updates are provided for Cyprus.
If any of you find any good software that gets updated, let's have recommendations. I know that Garmin is the best as a software and in terms of updates for Cyprus but they have locked their software on their devices and on specific phones only so this is out of question.
Im using Navicom now, i did use Copilot before but i feel that Navicom is better and the voice guide have great timing now, my taste it has a better layout. Anyways im happy with it so far.
Does anybody know how much the navprog that came with the phone will cost after the 30days trail ?

What HTC is advertising is that you can preset your route from home where you have Wi-Fi and the phone will download the maps needed. When you are on the road the phoen uses the pre-downloaded maps. However if you decide to change route or go on another trip you need to use your data plan to download new maps.
Thats why its better to have a dedicated navigation program like IGO with all countrry maps pre-installed on the phone. No need to download from home or use your data plan.
In addition Google maps Navigation is not available for all countries Cyprus is one of the Countries that are not supported.

Use the gps all the time, which works very well to be honest, i have co pilot live 8 installed (£25) works perfect, no extra bills as it comes off the data allowance you have.
Google maps is pre installed as far as i could see but compared to co pilot it fails.

Press update in the Locations menu and you will get the different prices for different length of subscription. It's differs from country to country..
It's frustrating that everyone tells a different version of the story. Here goes my version which I think is accurate as I actually have a DHD and have done for 3 weeks...
The phone comes preinstalled with Google Maps, and HTC Locations.
Google Maps: Downloads data as and when it needs it. Therefore for every route, you will have to download data on-the-go. It works pretty well though and has a nice enough interface. All text is TTS, so sounds a bit jerky. Will do postcode lookup.
HTC Locations: This comprises of 2 sections. 1: Maps; which is free for everything, works just like Google Maps but has the funky compass functionality. 2: Navigation; This is the SatNav part of the product. You have to pay for a license for a map, which allows you to use turn-by-turn nav. Once you have the license for your country and have downloaded the map, then you do not need to download any more data. At this point it functions exactly like a regular PND (TomTom etc). Text is pre-sampled so sounds a lot nicer (but can't read road names). It can be supplemented by live traffic and speed camera alerts, which are both extra subscriptions.
With locations, you can download as many regular maps as you like and all you pay is data connection fees (if done over 3G etc) to get them.
With the Navigation part of it, you have to pay for all of it. Nothing is free (though you do get a 30 day trial of one map)
Also the HTC app doesn't do postcode lookup, which is probably the biggest problem with it.
In my opinion, neither are really up to scratch and do not form a decent replacement for my TomTom (on my old Touch Pro2!).
I have Navigon on my phone, and that is a better solution, but the interface is quite horrible (i.e. you can't display time, arrival time and speed on the screen at the same time) and also I find that entering addresses using the on-screen keyboard doesn't really work properly (when holding the top row for a number, it doesn't work - I have to select the number section of the keyboard and press it from there).
I'm thinking of giving CoPilot a try to see if it's any cop...
I hope that helps clear things up.
All those info are great but they would only be helpful if we lived in a large country. It's still helpful though so, thanks.
From a very thorough research I found out that no matter which is the best navigation tool, for Cyprus things will be totally different. So we only have 2 options: iGo and MLS.
They are not the best tools but they are the only ones you can use on Android and they are the only ones that have Cyprus maps (with street names and spoken instructions), even if the maps are outdated and cover only the 80% of the island.
I have MLS on a PNA so maybe I give iGO a try in order to compare.
Thanks to everyone.
My question is, will i be able to buy/download apps for a WP7 phone (lets say from the US[samsung focus]) in countries that don't have windows phone 7 yet?(lets say Israel)
Hard reset my phone and booted it up in airplane mode, market works just fine that way with wifi so I don't see why not.

if you can buy a windows phone there at present, then yes you shouldn't have a problem. if it isn't available there at the moment, you may have to do some dodgy things and make it think you're from US.
Works fine in Norway, but I'm not sure if I can get all programs available in the US or just a subset...Hard to tell, really
Unless the marketplace is available in that country no.
For instance, they sell WP7 phones in Sweden but they haven't launched the marketplace here yet. Which is idiotic.
You can get around it though by making a new windows live id that has the country set to a country with the marketplace available.
Check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=830701 for more information.
wow thats cool i just change my PC location to USA and i got my Zune Marketplace i never had before thats cool, i see the windows phone marketplace now...
is there a way i can make my pc think i have a windows phone phone conected so i can try to download free apps?
and for payed apps i have an AMEX card so i think im set.
You can download free apps if your Windows Live is set to a country with marketplace support. However, to buy apps you need to set your credit card details in Zune with an address in that country. I have a Netherlands Mastercard but put in my parents address in UK and its working great.
Hmm so I assume it will not NORMALLY work in Poland without setting another account which is set as UK?
I mean I use Hotmail for 12 years and probably it's set as polish, so...
Without this workarounds no chance?
On offical MS polish page they invite to buy 3 WP7 devices in polish stores....
So looks like official....
Any clue?

Which mastercard are you using. I have got one from ABN AMRO but it is not working. Only thing different is that I'm trying it with the US marketplace. I read somewhere it only worked a few days after launch day. I tried it btw on the zune desktop. Keep getting a error message saying that my creditcard details are wrong.
There is a service called global shop for AMEX card owners that gives u an address in the USA in Miami, so I can register to any us retail and give them the global shop Miami address that’s just cool
And as for changing the Live, takes only a sec to do and I have my account for like 5 years.
but i still wana be sure, so if any of you know of any virtual WP7, or if any one tried in a country that don't sell phones yet.
Setting up your WP7 device with a US live-id works fine, but you won't be able to buy apps without a US credit card also. Downloading free apps works fine, though, but when WP7 is launched with all services and the marketplace in your own country you will have to reset your device and set it up again with a local live-id to use these. Any apps downloaded from the US marketplace will then be lost.

So all that makes buying a WP7 device NOW nonsense.
Whether you don't have access to all the features or you're screwed later....
Discouraging.
at present, perhaps, but i think over time as they support more and more languages they'll open it up more.

ING Mastercard (Netherlands), In Zune add credit card UK address with Netherlands card number, Windows Live UK account.
I did this two days ago and already bought some apps. I also read somewhere this is the official method endorsed by Microsoft Netherlands so maybe give them a call if its not working?
So Zune pass finally have came to Australia and i am not to sure how to get it to work on my phone. I am able to transfer music from Zune to my WP7 and it plays fine but when i open Music + Video App on my WP7 there is no zune option to search.
On there site it says if you go to new and click zune it works but it simply takes me to a webpage. Anyhelp would be great.
Same with me. I have no trace of it on my phone yet
Guys, it took us Canada guys a week for it to show up. Hold up there and it'll show eventually.
Same deal here, no Zune marketplace on Omnia7 (Optus) even though I have a Zune Pass.
You need to try this method by Chris Walsh.

From the looks of it it seems to be for the Zune desktop client but not for phones?
Ah yes. Forgot to mention. On Phone it will be almost impossible unless somebody is really good with Registry stuff
Still no Zune Pass on my phone. I assume it will come eventually i wonder if we will now have access to the music search function in bing ? P.S who is trying the free 14 day trial as well ?
Just saw this from @ZuneSupport on Twitter:
The marketplace may not show up right away on your WP7. Let us know if it doesn't show up by this time next week. ^SM
You can get most of the new Zune features by doing a hard reset. Unfortunately though, it doesn't look like Bing Audio works just yet (it does when you access Bing for the first time, but exiting and entering the app again the music icon will disappear).
If you're willing to reinstall your apps, resync your music and start your games again then go for gold.
I confirm this works. I just reset my WP7 (HTC Mozart). It took a couple of minutes but the music marketplace is now available on my device. I am using Telstra Prepaid.
I have had a Zune pass for years in Australia using the US address trick and setting the computer to location US. I have a hotmail email address that is registered to the US and now that Zune pass has finally come to Australia I would like to use it here....... the question is can I transfer my details to australia as I have purchased heaps of apps under the US windows lie account? If I use my Australian windows live account I will have to buy all the apps again. Has anyone been able to transfer purchases to another live account.
What if you moved from the US to Australia, would you have to loose all the purchased music and apps?
Why not keep your old one? I mean the $15 music pass you get to keep 10 songs don't you?
I had already changed my plan to the new one as I never used my free songs. I have paid up for a year on the US zune pass so its not an option to restart again in Australia.
I found a little info on we should see market place on our phones. Should be 24 - 48 hours from the 16 Nov

I did a hard reset and it all works bing music and all
I talked to Microsoft and they said there was no way to change regions. So I cancelled my Zune subscription and they credited the remaining two months and said I will not be charged for the year subscription that was order as the zune pass has been cancelled.
I have created a new Zune pass for Australia and I have to reset my WP7 phones and enter the new Australian windows live on startup and I loose all the bought apps that I bought on the US Live ID. Microsoft said that they would ask the senior team to look into giving me a credit on all the apps I bought on the US Live ID, I will let you know if that happens.

What phone do you have?
Thats nice of them, I always thought it was too bad
Finally got access to the marketplace and Zune pass on my phone. Looks really nice
I will be in Germany, Austria, and Hungary.
I will have Verizon activate my SIM number before I go.
Will my GPS work there? What do I have to do?
Here I use standalone GPS.
Thanks, cb
GPS works off of satellite - so it is fine anywhere phone can see the sky. Problem is that the maps you are used to using are not kept on your phone. Therefore GPS, but no maps = blank, useless screen. Verizon phone and data service is VERY expensive overseas. I had a friend come back to a $400 bill he did not expect. Remember unless set up properly, phone is always transmitting even without your knowing it. But you must have data service for most maps on GPS.
Options - 1. Buy map program with offline maps for phone ($60-$100). OSmand+ is ~$5, but needs your involvement to download offline (i.e. stored on phone) maps, but works fine. Google Maps can store some maps on phone, but is generally too limited in that capability to be of real use.
Option 2 - Buy local SIM card with data after getting to Europe. Note: You MUST contact Verizon to unlock phone so it will accept non-Verizon SIM (They do it free for good customers). This works fine, makes phone calls and data use much cheaper on your trip.
Option 3 - get/rent new phone overseas with local service. Not really expensive.
Recommendation - Get out on the web and learn about what you need. It's too lengthy a subject to spoon feed you. There is plenty of information.
Good Luck
Mostly need it for walking. I'll take a compass and print some maps before I go.
Thanks, cb
