My GPS doesnt work on cyanogen 7 rc1. I tried to flash to cyanogen 7 rc3 but it was same and the system restart itself.
Do you have any suggest?

Try this. Flash radio .27, then wipe all the cache (and leave GPS on) and then reflash RC3. Once you do that, flash back to radio .26 to see if that works. It solved my GPS issue..
how can i flash the radio ?
i tried to flash it to cyanogen rc3 but it was very unstable and restarting.
i found how to flash radio here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970809
but which one is radio .27?
thx
This is probably a dumb question, but I'm still learning.
I never flashed the eng HBOOT, is that necessary for flashing a new radio? I've rooted a few G2's and by the time I got around to this one I didn't see the point.
Also is it safe to flash the eng HBOOT with cm7 running using a terminal emulator?
i Flash radio to .27, then wipe all the cache but the GPS is still not working.
Do you think that new Cyanogen 7 RC4 will solve the problem? i have still RC1
Can you help me somebody with the GPS ?
You should update to at least RC3. After u make sure ur radio is .27, revert back by flashing a .26. Do whatt I said.

I recently flashed my Radio aswell and it worked... not sure if this is a reason but someone posted on the forum that it helps if you turn on the gps turn off the phone and than do the radio update, so when you boot the phone back on the GPS will be on right away. Not sure if it worked But i had GPS issues on RC3 not RC1 and still had the issues till i did this right b4 flashing to RC4. Try it if anything.

ok i've been flashing roms for over six months and have been able to fix every issues i've ever had until now..
was running cm nightly 21, tried to update to 23 a couple weeks ago and all i got was a boot loop on the white htc evo screen. ok so i re-download the nightly, clear cache dalvik data and reflash. same boot loop occur. so i waited a few days and new nightlys appeared. so i download and tried to flash. same results with the boot loop.
i reverted back to cm nightly 21. tried to flash savage zen 2.1 kernel. reboot. same white htc evo screen boot loop. flash savage zen 2.0 with cm nightly 21 and it works flawlessly. flashed cm rc2 with savage zen 2.0 and ran flawlessly but boot loops with sz 2.1-1.0.
problem: cm nightly 23 and up (23-30), cm rc3, savage zen 0.2.1 and up, and tiamat's latest kernel (3.32?) all would install properly but when phone boots it is stuck on boot loop at the white htc evo screen.
my remedies: wipe cache davik data 1x,2x,3x to no success. used caulkins all format zip plus the wiping of cache, etc to no success. i've tried wiping and flashing with ra mon 2.2-2.3 recovery and clockworkmod 2.5-3.0.5 and still no success. i've unrooted my phone, reroot, wipe and flash and no success. i've even tried to not wipe cache/dalvik and just flashing nightlies 23+ and rc3 and still same boot loop at the htc evo screen.. worth a try since i've done everything else i could think of..
here's my system: latest radio, wimax, prl, pri, hboot.. latest everything update. hardware revision 003. baseband 2.15.00.07.28. S-off. what else..
my thoughts: cm 23 and up, savage 2.1 and up, and tiamat's latest all incorporated hdmi into their builds. i've never used nor have the ability to activate hdmi on my phone. so i'm thinking it's something to do with hdmi? every other rom from cm 21- and rc2- and sense roms seem to work perfectly fine.
i am currently running cm rc2 with savage zen 2.0.. are my days of flashing the lastest and badarse combos of cm and savage zen over? please help if anyone have any ideas and thanks in advance..

Strange indeed my friend. There have been many reports of bootlooping with cm7, and many can't recover. See the thread titled bootloops and no recovery. Its odd that older cm builds and sense work fine for you, and newer ones don't. Its interesting, your observation about the HDMI kernels. I wish I had some suggestions for you, but it appears as though you've exhausted all the things I would've suggested to you already. You've even ran ruu and rerooted. If that didn't work, I'm not sure what will...

going into recovery is fine. i've tried reflashing with ra mon 1.8, 2.2, and 2.3 recovery but still end up with the white screen boot loop. than i would switch to clockworkmod 2.5 and 3.0 and reflash the roms. they would all install fine with the recoveries saying "install from sd card complete". but when i reboot, it gets stuck on the htc screen! strange indeed..

Sounds like you tried everything before you even posted! At least you can run sense roms and older cm in the meantime, while you try to figure it out. Do other newer gingerbread builds flash and run for you? Or is it just cm7? I wish I had more to suggest, but like I said, it seems like you've covered your bases..

i've ran miks, myns, and fresh before from the sense side and all worked fine. from the gb side i've ran evolve, kings? (can't remeber right now), and cm starting from cm gingerbread 4 through 6.1.2 to cm7 nightly 21 where i got stuck. i have not try the newest gb roms outside cm. am downloading the latest from evolve now so will give it a shot.
f.y.i. to those afraid of cm roms, my current fig is rc2, sz 2.0 cfs wimax gb, with dark horse v1.0 cm7 rc2 theme and everything (minus hdmi) works flawlessly. i mean gps tracks and follows without drops, wifi works great, absolutely no issues with bluetooth, no random reboots, wimax connects quickly and doesn't drop, 3g hotspot works great, even 4g wireless hotspot works!! i swear it. tested it out the other night and it connected right away and started working. we used it on 4g for about 20 mins without drop.
if everything is working so great, why would i want to update roms? because the cm dev and team are badarse and i love their work (many thanks to you guys). plus titanium backup doesn't work...only app i use that gets fc. biggest irk though is that it just doesn't feel right not being able to flash the lastest builds..

I will also say that I had good experiences with cm. It always ran smooth for me, and as you stated, everything worked. Same with all the other recent gingerbread roms have been flawless for me too. All the boot loop and no recovery issues, take it for what its worth. To each his own. I like all roms, but ill be on sense for a little while.

Guys, this is all over the forums now. Something in CM is causing these major problems that people are not able to recover from. One theory is that it's causing a bad block in the internal memory, which apparently, the Evo can't recover from.
I think I got lucky when it happened to me last month, where I suddenly white screened for no reason, while running a CM ROM, and I RUU'd my way out of it, but the problem has gotten much worse, obviously.
I loved CM, but at this point, I'm not stupid enough to try and run it anymore.
I hate to sound rash, but I'd lose any CM Rom's you guys are running until the Dev's can figure this one out.
Ok so here is my issue I hope some of you will have some incite.
I've been running CM7 7.0.3 for a while now but have been experiencing some issues so I wanted to go back to a sense ROM. I've flashed Skyraider 4.0 and Redemptive rEVOlution. Both give me the same problem after it flashes I reboot and get only to the 1st splash screen, HTC quietly brilliant. I've been using CWR 3.0.0.8 and RA_GNM 2.2.1, I get the same out come no matter what. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.
Thanks

3.0.0.8 has a known issue of not completely wiping. Do it 3 times or flash 3.0.0.7. You need to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache, then flash.

Thanks for the suggestion, I rolled back to 3.0.0.7 and still no luck. A little extra info just to avoid questions hboot .92 and 11.19 radio. This has got me stumped. I've tried roms both on rom manager and not on it. So I'm not sure what else unless the downloads were corrupted.

Hi to all, yesterday I put my WF into S-OFF, i had HBOOT 0.80,i had to install RUU,downgrade... i changed splash image and i installed CM7.1 RC1 and the gps is not working, i tried to flash lastest radio and Hcdrjacob 4.1 kernel but i have CWM 4.0.1.4 so icant flash, what shoul i do to restore the gps?
THX
This is a common problem with CM7.
1) Perform a nandroid backup of your previous rom.
2) Flash a stock rom ( it doesn't matter what one; as long as it is working ). - http://www.shipped-roms.com/downloa...45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_142213_signed.exe
3) Then your going to need to go to Google Maps and activate GPS - let it find you ( wait 15-60 seconds outside ).
4) Once it has a fix on you, restore your previous CM7 ROM using nandroid and GPS should work.
5) If that doesn't work, flash CM7.0.3; the stable build.
Note: Flashing a new radio/kernel will most likely not sort out this problem.

ill try when i arrive home, now im at work and i dont have the cable here to install official, i have to say before S-OFF i had CM 7.1 CR1 with no problems
by installing a RUU will i lost all the recovery and s-off?
S-OFF, No. Custom Recovery - Yes.
Alternatively, you can try a Safe Flash RUU Zip, if you want to keep the Custom Recovery intact:

why do you have to restore the previous ROM after you flash a new radio? I just flashed a new radio and GPS finds me in google navigation so all seems okay?
I just rooted my phone via the Tacoroot and Revolutionary method. Followed the guide and no problems. Then I installed IC Tazz Sense 3.6 ICS rom. Everything boots and works real nice and smooth. The problem is if I turn the phone off, reboot or enter into recovery, the phone goes into a boot loop when I start it again. Only on a clean install does it boot properly. I cleared cache, formatted the sd card, re-downloaded rom, tried sense, non-sense and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
Mine does that if I load the stock pg32img but when I do a rom it works. What radio version are you on? Make sure you flash the ics firmware update from nits and it should clear it up

Radio shows as 1.09.01.0622. Am I looking for a radio update? 0312?
UPDATE: Flashed new radio and problem is resolved, thanks!

Update to the .312 radio fixes bootlooping issues that are common once you used revolutionary and whatnot when downgrading

Hi guys,
I have a wildfire with hboot-6.01.1002 S-off and radio 3.35.20.10.
I had the gps bug, so I tried all the ways to fix it but without success. So I tried to reflash radio and just trying to flash older versions I found out that the radio doesn't get flashed.
I tried laptop method too but with win8 is impossible for my wildfire to get recognized and all the tricks seen on internet or on this forum don't work.
Ooops I forgot to say that from RomManager I downgrade to cwm 2.x, then I reboot the phone, but in recovery I see again cwm 5.x, so everytime I install from there the 2.x version and I flash radio, but at system reboot I find 3.35.20.10 radio again.
Could you help me pls?
ps. sorry for my bad english.

You can try to use a temporary 2.x flashable cwm zip file and flash it after a cwm recovery reboot: I have cwm 6 installed and reflashing the radio in this way I usually fix GPS and WiFi problems (I have to do it once or twice every time after I install a new ROM).
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda app-developers app
Hi, could you explain me the procedure?
Where do I find a temporary cwm?
--- do you mean install a cwm 2.x in recovery mode? It doesn't work, I wrote it in the first post too.
mate, you don't have to flash a new radio to fix the GPS issue.
Here's what I do,
#Turn GPS on in your current ROM, and wait for a stable location fix,
#while GPS is still on, power off the phone.
#Now boot into recovery and flash your new ROM
#now after flashing and booting into your new ROM you'll be able to use GPS again.
You'll have to do this everytime you flash a new gingerbread ROM or above..
if your current ROM doesn't have working GPS, just flash Sense ROM, the GPS will work. then do as I said.
I always though flashing radio's are a little risky, as this is a risk free method, I think everyone should use this instead..
cheers ...

I'm guessing you're referring to RemPuzzle ROM which has Aroma installer.
yea Aroma installer does that on cwm5.
only way to fix that is to revert to CWM4 permanent ( untill you decide to go back to a higher cwm version.)
anyway try another sense ROM, like DK's custom ROM or similar ..
cheers..
I was just reading about DK roms, it has to be installed using a temporary cwm.
Just a curiosity: all newer roms are cyano based?

Yes, most gingerbread and up roms are usually bases on CM.
About the temporary cwm. Just flash it as a normal zip and you'd get temporary cwm2.5 , flash DK with that, after reboot you'll be back on your current cwm version.

Just a thing, I flash a sense rom, after that I wait gps fix and then I install cyano rom. But without wipe or format?
I ask that cause before I use Mtd partition procedure to have more free space, and without any format and wipe I can't do that.

No no... just wipe everything. And also the Dalvik cache. Then install the new ROM. After rebooting to your new ROM GPS would work.

I tried joyOs but gps doesn't start. With Rempuzzle I have screen problems.
It seems I have to forget gps.
Flashing a radio requires at least 30mb on cache, so make sure you aren't using a custom mtd setup.
If its not the case, try flashing a 2.x permanent recovery and then flash the radio.

if yes, there is an additional zip file to flash after flashing a new ROM.

If you have followed all the steps.correctly for custom mtd partitioning, it should work.
If it still fails, try link2sd, its an app. It moves apps to a separate partion in SDcard and saves internal storage.
But you have to partion your SDcard for that.
I suggest you should recheck if you followed all the steps correctly for mtd partioning. And remember to flash the bravo-boot.zip ( I don't remember the exact name) after flashing a ROM..

I'm sure I followed all the steps, but I'm gonna try again.
Further jellybread is now on (without mtd) but without gapps too and they're integrated in the rom.
