chances r the root didnt successfully install. so your recovery image wont b there. make sure u have the bootloader usb drive installed on your pc, unknown sources is on, along with usb debug. then retry. another thing that happenbed to me was i tryed to root using administrator and it wouldnt work. i then retried as a standard user and had no problems. follow those instruxctions and retry

Here is a good place to start. Don't be impatient, just follow the steps logically and you shouldn't have a problem.

Don't have the link but you need hboot drivers. I thought you could find the on unrevoked site.

unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install
Those are the drivers you need
Not letting me post hyperlinks so just copy paste into browser.
you need to turn usb debugging on and ensure u run the program as administrator
1. Before you do anything, uninstall htc-sync from your pc but do not uninstall the driver.
2. Install the H-boot driver from unrevoked site. (run the installation as administrator)
3. Enable usb debugging mode on your Desire.
4. Connect the Desire to your PC.
5. Run unrevoked and wait untill finish.
6. After rooting is done, you can have your HTC-Sync back if you want it.

Is there no market icon or does it just FC?
If there is no icon you need to flash the Gapps.
There's no apps affiliated will google whatsoever. I flahed the cyanogen mod 7 successfully.
Could you please explain what gapps are and where I can find them and how to install thanks in advance

So a brother of mine is getting rid of his HTC Desire and giving it to me. Here's what's wrong.
It's an Alltel HTC Desire but he has a US Cellular ROM on it. From the looks of it I don't think it's rooted. If I plug it in through usb the phone charges fine but it will not do anything else. That would mean it's usb bricked right?
I really don't know what to do from here. I've been rooting and putting roms on phones since my HTC Touch Pro years ago, but this situation is kinda scary. Please help! :'(
EDIT: And yes I did do some searching, but I'm worried the non-stock ROM will mess this up.....
Can u get into recovery by pressing volume down and power and then click on recovery what happen.s then

Hi guys, just got a dhd from a friend, he was on stock Rom and his phone recently refused to boot up, when he turns it on it goes to operator splash screen and then to HTC logo but then restarts, it never gets any further, its just a constant cycle, I thought I may have been able to root and install a new Rom , I can get into recovery using volume and power but because I can't enable USB debugging I'm stuck, can anyone help me, I don't know what I can do with it, thanks guys

Are you S-OFF? Do you have a custom recovery installed? If so, since you can get into recovery, just flash a new ROM.
No, its not s off and its just the HTC recovery I can get into, I have tried recovery and factory reset and its still the same problem

Can you boot into bootloader?
Do you got htc drivers installed?
Do you got adb installed?
Can your computer find your phone while in bootloader?
I have HTC drivers, don't have adb, sorry but I don't know what you mean by bootloader ?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Bootloader is the same as HBoot. It's the interference you boot into when you boot with power + Volume down.
Yes, sorry, I can get into bootloader but its the stock HTC one ?

Have you tried running a RUU?
It's branded and I can't find a ruu with my operator that's more up to date, is there any way I can root it without turning the phone on and getting into settings ?

No. If you want to get some help, then start providing information...what carrier is your DHD branded for? Do you remember what Version of android you had?
I guess you will have to make a goldcard and then flash an unbranded RUU.
I'm new to custom ROMs and stuff so be patient with me. I installed a ROM on my One V after rooting it and followed the normal steps but I have problems with rebooting the phone (it keeps showing the boot screen). I tried to access the bootloader (VolDown + Power) but the phone just reboots. Then I tried plugging in the USB and rebooting, but it brings me to CWM Recovery instead of bootloader. Now I can't flash stuff to fix the problem, what could have went wrong and what can I do at this point in time? Thanks.
Connect to the computer and type in cmd adb reboot bootloader

enter the bootloader and then plug usb cable... if fastboot still doesn't see you phone, it might be a driver issues, and you will need to update them...
