[Q] Bluetooth a2dp AND phone issues - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Don't flame me!....I searched, can't find this specific issue for the EVO.
flashed latest cyanogen last night
I got my phone and music bluetooth connection paired, phone works fine, and it actually streams music! the problem is it does not work properly when both phone and music are connected. I disconnect the phone bt, and the music sounds great for a few seconds, then the phone bt reconnects and the music streaming is all broken up,
anyone experience this? any solutions?

So, I guess I can unpair the phone when I want to listen to music? that is kind of lame though...

This has happened to me with cm7 recently. Phone randomly keeps connecting while audio is streaming. I haven't looked into it yet but nice to know someone else is seeing this.
Actually for me there is just an interruption while the phone connects. After that the music is fine. But the phone profile shouldn't be randomly reconnecting multiple times to begin with. I have the motorola t605.

Same here, haven't tried disconnecting the phone audio yet. Regardless its definitely an issue

loose gps when playing music on speaker

When i'm playing music off the sd card or pandora I loose gps in maps and navigator unless I have headphones plugged in.
I think it might be the speaker messing with the compass, but i have no idea.
I tried googling it, but all i found were a handful of people with the same issue and tons of people saying that they go running or do x or y and listen to music without an issue, but they're useing headphones.
Any ideas?
Same Problem
I have the exact same problem and it has been driving me crazy! I have tested thoroughly and I can use GPS for days no problems. As soon as I turn on Pandora or the Music app it instantly stops tracking and a few seconds later says sorry no GPS signal in this area (confirmed on Sprint Nav and Google Nav). As soon as I stop the music it pops back in.
Have you confirmed that the headphones corrects the problem? If so that may provide me a good work around.
Has anyone else found a better fix/work around? It is very strange!
My thoughts exactly! Ever since the Froyo update I've been having the same issues as well.

The magnet for the phones speaker interferes with the gps, that's why you can use headphones and gps and not have a problem

GPS
Thank you. Is there any work around?
Seems like a pretty bad/serious design flaw.
just using headphones, but **** this is annoying. I use gps for work, and I dont want to use headphones all the damn time. my g1 didnt have this issue so it's like wtf!
That is by far the worst handle I have ever seen. Congrats.
As far as the loose gps is concerned, have you tried tightening it?

[Q] Having trouble with Bluetooth connectivity and autoplaying music

So the issue is very weird and I can't think of a good explanation for it. Occasionally, when my bluetooth automatically connects to my car stereo, Walkman will start automatically and start playing music. Other times, it connects to bluetooth automatically, but the music never turns on. I see a Walkman Bluetooth service in the task manager, but it still won't connect. Sometimes it will connect when I turn the car stereo back on after it was previously connected, other times it won't work. Sometimes I will kill the Walkman service entirely and it will turn on automatically, other times it won't. When it doesn't turn on automatically, I can always start it up with no problem manually, but as you can guess while driving this isn't a great idea.
Has anybody experienced this or know what might be wrong? I haven't had this issue on any previous phone; they always started the music automatically. I'm using the latest build of SlimKit, but this has happened with previous ROMs.

I have a Highline stereo in my car and have similar problems with sometimes failing on first connect. As I have never had this issue with any other of my Bluetooth devices I put it down to the car stereo rather than the phone.
There is a bluetooth config file that needs to match up with what the car stereo is expecting, which would explain why it works on some roms and not on others. If you find a rom that it works on, copy and paste it into a rom where it doesn't .
I used to have to do that with my galaxyS2 to get it to talk to the car. I believe its in system/etc/bluetooth main.conf or audio.conf
Also, I'm not sure the Walkman app is so good and might be the source of the problem. I have noticed that it struggles to play mix albums and can be a bit flakey if it doesn't have a working internet connection when you first turn it on.
Poweramp has a 'resume on Bluetooth' option and plays mixes seamlessly, always starting to play as soon as there is a connection.
This probably wasn't the answer you wanted
EDIT: Lots of people have complained about 'Thow' and how useless it is, and how it stops a device connecting sometimes, try freezing the throw app with Titanium, might be the culprit.
Thanks for your input! I tried using Power Amp to see if there was any difference, and without opening it at all, it connected to Bluetooth immediately. This looks like a good sign.
I will also try freezing Throw and using Walkman, as I would like a free option as well. Thanks so much!
I am interested to know, did freezing 'throw' fix your problem?
Tried Power Amp with the start on Bluetooth option checked, same thing started happening. I don't have the Pro Titanium Backup, so I just backed it up first then un-installed it. I'll be able to test if it worked in a little while, and will post back here!
So I was able to uninstall Throw and started using Google Play music, but it still doesn't autoplay sometimes. It seems more consistent, although that could be a placebo effect since I hadn't tested it a whole lot before. I can't think of what else might be wrong, except maybe it's my stereo.

[Q] Bluetooth in car phone audio problem

Hello everyone,
I have a stock LG G3 (D852/Fido) with the OTA update to Android 5.01 installed (I had the phone for a week before they pushed the OTA).
I have a Subaru Forester with the Clarion CF625UM radio. My phone connects with Bluetooth every time. The music plays perfectly, and the phone audio the callers/called hear is perfect. The problem is with the in car phone audio. So much chuffing that I cannot hear the callers. I have tried the phone on other CF625UM radios with the same result. Someone tried an iPhone 6 on my radio, worked perfectly so I'm guessing it's my phone.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
V

I have this problem when playing music through my speakers on my car. What I do every time I get in the car is connect and begin to play music. Then I got to my recents tab and clear everything. This will kill the music and the phone will still be connected via bluetooth. Now everything works fine -- for me.
Seems to me that if you don't kill all the apps the bluetooth gets overloaded and has a hard time pushing information through. I got to this conclusion after scanning for another bluetooth device. While is was scanning the music was skipping non-stop. I concluded that when it skips, it's overloaded -- so I kill every app so only my music is being transmitted (and phone on standby).

Thanks for the reply.
I tried your method, unfortunately it did not work for me. I guess I'll have to wait for 5.1 to be pushed to my phone and hope for the best.

Works fine,in my Mercedes, i can play music, videos without any problems, speed camera messages even come through clear and interrupt whatever is playing. Using ChupaCups 4.2 ROM

Bluetooth streaming issue/ suttering

When I connect Bluetooth to my car and try to stream music it start stuttering/ skipping like crazy, every second or so. I've tried it with multiple apps, Spotify, play music and YouTube same effect. Seems like Bluetooth can't handle the bandwidth. Never had this problem with my Nexus 5.
Anyone else have this issue?

It's been working great for me. Tried it with my VW Passat, Bose Soundlink Mini, and another Bluetooth speaker. No skipping or audio delays noticed. Usually playing Play Music, YouTube, or iHeartRadio.

It hasn't been as bad a you describe but I have noticed some stuttering. Not enough to ruin my experience, though.
I got phone on 10-21. I stream Pandora all day in my work truck to a jbl change 2+ and have my bt ear piece for calls connected all day. I have not had one issue
Mine did it the first time I ever used it in my car, and it was unbearable. After day one though, the issue self resolved and I had no problems. I actually noticed it first using navigation over bt

Yep. I got this several times. Turning off/on Bluetooth was the only way to fix. Not ideal when doing 70 on the motorway.

Same problem here, it makes bluetooth unbearable in my car. ONLY my car, as I don't have any stuttering on other bluetooth devices. Never had a problem on my Nexus 5, only the 5X.
Edit:
For clarity, I am full stock, not rooted or unlocked
I'm having the same issues. It seems the worst when I have Waze running while beyondpod is playing. I don't have guidance enabled, so Waze shouldn't be playing audio.
After streaming for a few days, I don't have this problem anymore. Weird, but I'm glad it's working now. Try what someone posted earlier, just turn off and turn on Bluetooth.

That didn't solve my issue. Rebooting the phone did, however. There must be a memory leak.
There is a issue opened on the Google code page. I'm not skilled enough with adb to capture the logcat. I am not allowed to post links so just add

To the end of the google code url

I experienced some stuttering over bluetooth in my toyota camry. Will test it further.
I could not reproduce the stuttering issues again until today when I was streaming music it decided to stutter as I read an email. Rebooted phone and it was fine.
Up the thread.
I just bought bluetooth earphones, I thought they were defective, so I replace them, but i got always the same problem, the sound is stuttering. And after some seconds, it simply goes blank, no sound at all. :/
I tested them on other smartphones and tablet, and they are working great.
I also noticed that if i put the nexus 5x really closed to the earphones (1 cm), it's working nice.
I contact Google, but they kept saying i have to contact the earphones manufacturer (Aukey). But it's clearly a bug with the phone.
There is just one thing I didn't try yet. It's to wipe the phone and flash the last android image (i read somewhere some guys fixed their problem doing this, where ota updates didn't).
Anybody got information or solution?
Thanks

Sometimes music doesn't pause when auxiliary cable is disconnected

Hi, as my title says, sometimes the music doesn't stop playing when I disconnect my auxiliary cable from the audio port. When this happens the music continues playing from speakers even the telephone detected that the cable is not connected. The strange thing is that it doesn't happen always it's a random issue. The problem occurs with Poweramp and Spotify.
With Bluetooth this doesn't happen. I think it's a software bug as the phone detects without problems when the cable is connected or not.
Anyone noticed this?
Yup it happens to me in my car infrequently. I've noticed it with Google play music and I think YouTube.
I don't know about this HTC 10 anymore, there are just some very minor annoyances that I've never had to deal with on previous phones.
I opened a return request, and I think I'm going to just follow through on it.

Today it happened with Bluetooth. I was listening music and to stop the music I simply turned off Bluetooth. When that happened the music continued playing using the smartphone's speakers.
I think that the service that is responsible to stop music when headphones or Bluetooth are disconnected is buggy.
Anyone with a similar behavior? I'm trying MacroDroid to see if this resolves the issue.
Happens to me too. Not always but often.
I'm rooted but Stock Rom.
Maybe a Tasker task can help.
I will try out later.
No luck with tasker as the process is running somehow in the background.
