please help me backup my dash

i've been looking around for a good free backup program but everything has a price. anyone here can help me find a free program to backup my dash and guide me through it so i can successfully backup my phone and not ruin it.
thanks
i dont know any free ones. but if the info you have on your phone is worth anything, you might want to drop a few bucks on some software. i use sprite backup. excellent program.
what you want to backup, contact and sms or all beacause there are more program that can do this, for example EasyHelper Contact Plus SMS Backup or sprite backup... so it depends.. i use the first because i want to backup only sms and contacts..

What are the best ways to back-up the data on my phone?

I'm going to start flashing my phone whenever any new NRG ROM's come out, but I don't know how to back-up all the data on my phone so I don't have to start all over again.
What programs are best to use? And how do I use them?
Cheers.
define data.
contacts, notes, tasks, calendar?
try outlook. or myphone.
though. there are others.
names escape my mind though.
ya men, plenty out there. depends on what your needs are.
some just care about messages, some wants to have all back.
maybe configuration of apps.

I am using an small easy script I wrote in mscr, you can give it a try.
no good for messages but doing all the rest.
it works the way that ONCE you have to copy files holding configuration to SD card to dedicated folder, then it's doing it itself on scheduled time.
once you reflash rom, it will restore them all back. registry as well.
just back up your contacts to your sim and use Microsoft My Phone. Backs up all the basics, simply, quietly and not a problem to restore the info. It even holds your douments too. Should already be on your phone (the best part). I now never hesitate to hard reset if I want to do something
Cheers guys.
But stuff I'd like to save are the likes of all the settings. All my contacts etc. are all on my account on Microsoft's exchange server, it's just all the individual settings which i wish i could keep instead of flashing then spending half an hour doing them all over again!

that's what this script is doing, if you are familiar with creating reg files. and you are able to point out files responsible for settings in whichever app, give it a try. it's launging somewhere around on xda-dev, but i would update it if you like.
e.g. skype:
you copy application data\skype to SD\backup\application data\skype
and it will every 2 weeks copy them, again and again. It's done in background and very slowly, not slowing other processes, you can't notice. then there is simple restore which through config.txt herds them back.
for registry e.g facebook, create facebook.reg and put in SD\backup
just adding pim.vol will take care of contacts and calendar.
there is an option to add a file: "backup.all" which would mean that the whole folder is going there.
it's simple but what more I need?

i am using PIMbackup:
http://www.dotfred.net/default.htm
it's simple, small, free and the guy who wrote it looks smart, he did the fdc task manager too, there is no concurrence in that one.
I've been using something payed and fancy and big before and it messed my messaging.
thank you very much i downloaded it and as soon as possible i'll try it.from the web site it seems very good!

[Q] how do i create folders?

i wanna be able to organized my pics and music however i dont know how to make folders on my phone...its not rooted and i dont plan on to... so is there a way without rooting it? please help! many thanks!
If you are talking about folders on the home screen, just long press like you would to add an app, just hit folder instead.
If you are talking about on the sd card, use an app like Astro, or plug into a pc and add folders just like you would with windows.

[q] how to backup...

Hello everyone.
i just wanna know the best way to backup my s3 like blackberry. is there a software to do that? i wanna back up not only the contacts but my messages, notepad etc too
To backup messages and contacts and even call logs you can use "SmsBackup and restore" which can be found on Google play. If you're rooted you can use Titanium Backup to backup all of your apps.
About your notes...maybe you can check within the app if there is a way to backup your notes to your SD card.

[Q] XBMC Backup File Removal

I have about 5 old internally stored XBMC backup files that I'd like to delete since I now have one on a USB stick and stored on my computer as well as in the FTV utility program that are all perfect files. I'd like to remove the ones stored internally in the unit. Is there and easy way to do this and if so how? My unit is set up exactly as I want it....It boots directly into XBMC when started up and has a quick shortcut back to FTV when I want it. All my icons and shortcuts are installed and the unit is perfect for my use.
Any advise greatly appreciated....I'd like to free up some storage space and these backups are useless. I have my settings at keeping 1 backup now rather than all. I don't mind having one there, but the others are simply wasted space taken up.
Thanks!
Just use ES File Explorer.
Thank you!
