Hello, I believe I am having radio issues with my HTC Desire HD on the Telus network.
I flashed the radio with Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF using the great guide done by leith51. The flashing went perfectly from what I can gather.
For some reason now though I have no internet. I cant connect to twitter, the built in browser, market or anything internet related. I get phone calls, texts and regular phone related stuff fine. It's just anything internet related is not working.
Newbie question here, but do I have to do a radio s-on after flashing?
Any suggestions?
You do not need to do a S-ON back in order you to use the internet. I have both Radio and ENG S-OFF, but still able to use the net.
Did you changed your setting? Go to Setting >> Wireless & Networks >> (check) the Mobile network
Cheers. =)

When I look at "mobile network" the box is checked green...if I uncheck the box and then recheck the box it says "turning on..." and that message does not go away.
I just noticed this, if I check the "Wi-fi" box it wont turn green and I get a "Error" message under the "Wi-Fi" heading, as well, there are no Wi-Fi networks listed, there should be as I have one set up for my lap top.
hi. fellow telus dhd owner here. fyi, i'm using the same radio with cm7n32 without any issues.
as far as the mobile network is concerned, did you input the correct apn settings?
Thank you syc7090, it was my APN settings. THANKS!
np. glad you sorted it out

Hi guys, after installing the latest radio on my Hero I get the feeling that my mobile internet connection (both HSDPA, 3G and 2G) seem to be dropping more often than before. I haven't monitored this prior to upgrades so I can't say for sure. But is anybody having the same experience?
Also is it possible to downgrade the radio? Do you just reinstall the old radio?
Thanks.
yes i have the same issue. my mobile internet and also the gps stops to work after a while of not using the phone. i have to restart the phone to get gps back to work.
mobile internet can also be reactivated by activating and deactivating the "only 2g networks" option.
this failure sucks because i just recognize that the mobile internet is down because i didn't get push mails for a while.
I have noticed that as well
Yep me too. I can be browsing (web, market, or rss) for a while, then lose connection for a bit, then it will suddenly work again.
Can we reflash the old radio?
No need. It could be the APN settings. I was having problems on T-Mobile with HSDPA dropping and read in another post to go to the T-Mobile support page for the G2 and select Connecting to the Internet --> Set up the phone for internet surfing --> and follow the instuctions to set up a new APN. Worked for me
I have the same problem.
I have installed the new Hero ROM two weeks ago, one week ago mobile internet disappeared from my phone. Before this it was very good.
I can't find the good solution for this issue. Please help.
Same radio ROM. But there were internet for a week with this ROM.
I don't understand.
(I have tried to reflash the ROM, but not solved.)
Same problem here.
Mobile network has been unstable since I bought it.
When I turn it off for a while and turn it on again, I can't see the icon on the top bar. What I have to do is going to Settings - Wireless controls - Mobile network settings - Network operators - Select automatically.
Sometimes the connection is lost while using. I have to do the same thing like above to make it work again.
I also contacted HTC's customer service, but I haven't got any response.
Too bad!
I find if I leave it then it comes back. Every so often it goes...then the firmware eventually notices and it reconnects. Annoying. Hopefully this will be fixed when T-Mobile release thier version of the ROM update later this week.
I have the same issue, but it seems like it only happens when I leave a wirelss-zone (and not every time I do that either).
When I leave home, it will maybe 1 of 3 times not connect to 3G before I manually connect again (Settings - Wireless controls - Mobile network settings - Network operators - Select automatically)
I've just used AnyCut to create a shortcut to this menu-option so it is less annoying, but a more permanent and official fix would be great.
same thing in my one thats why i hate htc from now one loots of bugs in hero headphones led net go back to htc hd how you can release phone if is not done properly

Guys, if u have the dropping connection concern, as I did, please follow tmobile link in previous posts or a one for your mobile provide apn settings, I've just done it and have had no dropped connections for ages
i was also having the same issue but since installing the modoco 2.6 enhanced rom with the radio ending in 07.08 all has been good.

Hi,
I have a g2 Touch from T-Mobile germany.

I have the prob with dopping connections. But i cant download the settings from tmo germany, because there are no settings to download. Can anyone help me? Or Can i flash the old Radio back? And where can i get it for tmo germany?
Volker
well this is annoying...
I checked my APN settings:
Name: Orange Internet
APN: orangeinternetapndroid
MCC: 234
MNC: 33
APN Type: defaultapndroid
and apparently they wont connect any more, these are my stock settings, in the morning I was connecting via GPRS, 3G, 3G+
This afternoon, no luck.
Weirdly, having conducted a search of these forums if I ammend to:
Name: Orange Internet
APN: orangeinternet
MCC: 234
MNC: 33
APN Type: default
the 3G, 3G+ icon appears in my taskbar as if connected, but none of the sync's work, neither does the internet.
can anyone throw any light on this?
Edit:I've tried a clean boot with no APN type controls launched and still cant connect, so its not a sotware APN control playing up.
Try turning off 3G connectivity and connect on 2G. It's likely something wrong with your mast. Something similar happened to me about 2 months ago. I'm not working at the moment, otherwise I would've checked on our network status systems for you.
had something similar when accidentally put "enable always-on mobile..." in mobile network settings. couldn't get sync weather or internet access
switched this off and all came back
thanks for the posts, I checked the 'always on' setting definately off.
I cant seemt o find an option to switch to GPRS only, can you point me in the right direction?
Happened to me today too, just left it of for an hour or so and it worked again.
I've been having the same problems all day. After struggling to find a solution I've finally just managed to get my data connection back.
Try going to wireless and network setting => mobile networks => access point names, then go the your main setting, mine says orange internet. I entered a proxy setting of 192.168.71.35 and a port setting of 8080. Save that, press back 3 times, turn off mobile network then turn it back on and see if that helps!
It worked for me, although the connection doesn't seem as fast as before.
I would advise against changing any of the APN settings. You can change your phone to GSM-only through Settings > Wireless and Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > GSM only.
Settings on phones don't change themselves on their own. So if it's a problem with your connectivity, it's probably a network issue or something else (maybe hardware) with the handset, although that's unlikely.
@danflan74, the proxy you've entered might not be for the GPRS version of Orange Internet. You might be routing yourself through the WAP bit, hence the slowness. I can't say for certain, but that's seems likely to me. If not, then an extra layer of routing isn't doing it any good, as the "standard" settings do not use a proxy.
Tbh guys, I think it's just orange being their usual ****ty selves.

This was the original cause of your problem. Obviously you'd installed APNdroid at some point.
Strictly speaking, you don't really need this on Sense ROMs as there is a widget and a "shutdown" menu item for switching off the mobile network.

Dave
I had same problem today. Working now though. There was a message on orange customer services about problems with gprs and that they are working g to fix it.
Just wish I called them before I did factory reset.

Also had this problem today frustrating, all fine now
Looks like a load of people had this if Twitter is to be believed. My 3G wouldn't connect at all at one point.
I phoned orange earlier as i had no connectivity.
They have had network problems today. All fine now, For me anyway.
I've had all sorts of problems with orange the last few days. No incoming or outgoing calls or txts. Seems to be sorted today though.

I've been having the same issues all day, thought it might have been a network issue in Edinburgh City centre, but had decided it was [another] hardware fault in my Desire (it's been replaced once already).
Also very glad I waited before doing anything drastic!
I had the same problem on saturday. No signal for hours. Orange explained there was going to be some network issues due too the merging of tmobile & orange networks.

Orange had a large outage today for all apn's, it's nothing to do with your phone.

Juicedefender got me to install this'un so that I could switch the APN connection off 0:00 to 07:00.
on the upside to all of this, it was Orange being a pair of hairy testies. I got home having reverted my settings to stock and the 3g connection was working.
I can confirm I've had 3g/HDSPU dead connection problems all day from late morning, I'm on t-mobile UK with a non rooted Desire, and tried switching flight mode on and off, Enable always-on mobile- off. Ive heard T-mobile and Orange were merging early July. I hope the teething problems explains it or im in trouble.
I read on other forums it could be the software version. But i'm sensing the general consensus here is the service provider?
Hi there,
Maybe I haven't searched in the right area's, but I certainly have had a look around and couldn't find anything to match my exact issue.
I've just purchased an HTC Desire from Telstra in Australia, but I'm based in New Zealand and so didn't want or need all of the built in Telstra stuff so I rooted the device and installed the HTC official Froyo build for the device.
All worked perfectly and the upgrade was successful and all I needed to do was to add 2 APN's, one for mobile data and one for MMS.
Now they connect up perfectly when I manually connect them, but if I open up Internet for example, I'd have expected it to automatically connect up to 3G data if no wireless is available but it doesn't it just says no connection.
The mobile data APN is set as the default and has a green selection next to it when I look at them.
Am I missing something ?? I'm an Android newbie so please excuse this if it's something obvious and I'm being dumb !
Geeeez I'd have expected someone to have been able to answer what I'm sure is such a simple feature / expectation.
All my previous windows mobile devices just hooked up with WIFI if available and 3G if not, I didn't have to manually connect. As soon as a program needed access to 3G it just hooked up and did what it needed.
One thing I was hoping for in Android was that it would hook up as the windows mobile did, but would switch itself off if it wasn't used for a while......... something Windows Mobile didn't do so it would go flat pretty quick if you had it checking the web on a regular basis as it would just leave the 3G connection running even though there was no data flowing.
Come on people.......... do other peoples Android devices hook up automatically when required ??? or am I just expecting too much ?

Yes it does. Other than turning mobile internet off and on, I'm not even certain how you would "manually connect"?
Regards,
Dave
canman your Desire ought to automatically grab the APN settings with a SIM card installed, when you power it up. Failing that, once you manually enter correct settings it should automatically use those. There is no "manual connection" I know of, just enter the APN settings, or verify they are correct, and you never have to do this again. Double-check that the settings are correct. Also, if you are using wifi turn that off until you are sure that your mobile data is working ok. If you have done everything correctly and you are getting error messages, the phone is defective and should be returned.
From today my phone doesn't seem to connect to 3g/gprs network. the 3g icon is down and antenna is ok. i can do call but i can't connect to data network. i try to mount my sim on another phone and all work and another sim to desire but 3g not work. so i try to do a factory reset but not work....
what's the problem???
Hi, did you check in settings/wireless if mobile network is enabled. And if you upgraded to 2.2 maybe your operator APN is not there anymore. Did you do something like flash radio, rom or something else which could cause it. Also do you have a backup of your old system.
mobile data connection is on and i'm with not rooted original froyo update.
Then go to settings/wireless/mobile network settings/access poin names. Some people reported they lost the access points after the update and needed to enter them manually
seems to be a problem all around the world at the moment, a lot of data networks seem to be down
From another thread, Orange network was down yesterday and is still not working properly. You on orange?

Hello guys, I have a problem here. It seems that whenever I use internet on my desire HD, my network does not automatically connect. I have to manually turn on the mobile network in settings. Do u guys have this problem or which anyone can help?
If I understand you correctly you need to check the box for "always-on" data. Go to: MENU->SETTINGS->WIRELESS & NETWORKS->MOBILE NETWORKS->ENABLE ALWAYS-ON MOBILE DATA.
If you already have that checked I'm not sure what else is causing your data to not be always on, or are you talking about your wi-fi connection?
For that follow path to wireless & networks, but then go to: WI-FI SETTINGS->MENU (soft key by home button)->ADVANCED->WI-FI SLEEP POLICY->(select)NEVER.
I had the same problem.
I had to get a new sim because my old one was 10 years old and wasn't fully compatible with my new phone. It re-sent out over 500 texts from my outbox.
I had to ring my service provider. They said my sim card had a old vault version
