I have been looking for some backup extended battery doors so this might be cool and the price is good. I wonder if it works with the seidio 3500?
It says that it works with the 3500 Seido battery in the description. I may have to give it a try.
I am using the Seidio 3500. It should be here Wednesday or Thursday so as soon as it comes in I'll let ya know. Right now my Seidio door has a broken tab and doesn't fit right. I figured this whould be a way to get a new door and something other than white or black.

Better looking than my black cover.
I got the battery door in today and doesn't fit. When you close the top it pops the bottom open. I noticed that at the bottom in front of the kickstand it is a tapered where the Seido is not. The seller is great and refunded my money and said just to keep the battery door. So I may try and see if I can get it to fit somehow.
For the good news the red is almost a direct match as the red where the battery is. I also like the feel of that battery door better than the Seido.
Look Ma I gots a signature!
Doesnt fit the 3500 but it fits the sprint 2600 with no issues?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
If the 2600 is thinner than the 3500 then it should fit. I can't say for sure tho as I only have the 3500.

I have to say that looks better than the 3500ma from seidio.
it does!!! i just ordered it just so i can take that back and do the carbon fiber DIY on it. I think it would look awesome
also is the 2600mah and the 3600mah battery the same size
I'm tempted, but does anyone know anything about the make of the battery? Thats awfully cheap.. i'd be scared of starting on fire
heh
Wow a fat battery door for less than $15 shipped.
Now, lets see some normal sized battery doors on ebay.
Its cheap enough, ill bite. I got a 2300mah battery and door from an unknown manufacture when I had a G1 and it worked great, im willing to give this a try. Ill report back once I get it
im half tempted to get this... ive got a 3500 mah batttery from seidio that i got for my hero, it would fit in my evo just fine but i dont have a back cover
i might just have to send the seller a message and ask how "thick" the battery is... if its anywhere close to seido's 3500 mah unit ill jump on it

I don't want any battery that requires a larger back cover. Im waiting for a 2000mAh to come out that will fit as is!
I can't believe how badass the EVO is now. I've had mine for like a month exactly and I get impressed by the amount of accessories popping up for it every week. GO EVO! 15$! count me in even if its crap! I think I spent 15$ on lunch today and thats already looooong gone....ew

I used seidios online chat to ask a couple questions...
the rep told me 1. they do not accept paypal(just to ask) and 2. you can get the extended battery door alone for around $15 but you have to call them as it "is part of a package which they have to break up"
that will fit your 3500 hero battery (which i have aswell)
done and done.
Ew. Looks like a throwback to the Motorola Microtac days. Why would anyone want to turn their phones into a brick when they can have 3000mAh available to them by carrying an extra battery in their wallet? Crime deterrent ?
my hands are big so bring on the big back door and no need to charge during the day

I bought one of these off eBay a month ago, it's about the same as the OEM battery, so it's a good backup, but not a replacement.
Just installed it. Here are the pics
That looks Phat!! lol How long do you think the battery life is going to be I *might* think about buying it if it is that good
Can you take some more pics (not over a glass table, lol)?? A flat surface view would help.
Yeah sorry. I took those at lunch break. I'll post better ones later. Didn't have time to charge it yet either.

Is it me or does the case look like it is covering a portion of the camera lense. You cannot see the outside metal ring and the bottom of the camera seems to be covered. Was just wondering.
It does cover the red part but doesn't impede the lens or pics.

Now we need to find a case that will squeeze on with this new battery...
Thanks for the pics and hopefully the good news about battery life
Saw this post today and had to order myself one. Looking foward to a couple more pics. I agree with shadowhawk, a case that fits around it would be nice. Dropped mine out of my jeep onto gravel just yesterday and I think the rubber case might have saved it. Probably make that brick even bigger though

Definitely tell us how it goes battery life wise. Also...assumine there is no gel case that will cover all that..hmm. (I went the 1500's wth charger route...just now testing today.)

Actually I mentioned the case because I dropped mine for the first time today. It hit the floor at work and the body glove case came apart, the face flew into the air. But the case did its job, not a scuff or scratch.
Here is one more pic from my phone.

it actually isnt ugly looking like most other cases. its actually pretty good. it also has (as per the pic) that this case + battery has the added bonus of now protecting the camera lens. how much was it, and do you got an ebay link?
I actually ended up getting the 3000 mAh model for $15.37. Probably the same thing. (I hope its no fatter). I can't post links yet but you can search New 3000mAh Extended Battery+Charger For Sprint EVO 4G.
Can we get more pictures? I am waiting on my 3000mAh and door.
post more pics please I ordered this and am still waiting on it
I drained the battery today and then charged oit with my r/c charger and only put back in 1500mah. I'm suspecting this battery is not a 2700mah pack but a substandard 1500mah pack.

1500 battery but you have a thicker phone? no good
Ok, i believe that i read some time back that you could use a touch pro 2 battery in the evo. correct me if im wrong, but if the stock battery that we use is as true to 1500mah, wouldnt the HTC manufactured 2150 mah be one of the best extended batteries to buy? I have found a couple for sale, and wanted to be sure that the touch pro 2 battery does in fact work in our evo. thanks and sorry for yet another battery post.
http://www.amazon.com/Sprint-RHOD17..._1_4?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1301383140&sr=1-4
Here is the amazon link to the batteries. I know they wont fit under our stock door but for 10 slices of paper from my wallet plus the addition of having to buy another stock evo battery cover to modify to fit this battery, I feel like this isn't a bad deal considering the price. I should get the battery sometime around Friday or Monday of next week. Will post pics of said modification and results as soon as possible.
there are "3500" mAh batteries available for under $10 too. I believe they are closer to 2800. I've found the yoobao 3000mah batteries to be the best, got mine for 20 shipped.
and yes, the tp2 will work in an evo. you aren't going to be able to mod the stock cover to fit that. just buy an extended cover, you can get them with the battery for about 8.

Well I'm gonna hack up my old battery Cover so the battery will stick through. I have one of those crystal gel cases that will hold the battery in place, I just want the cover there to act as a speaker cover. The extended covers make the phone too large. I think this will keep the phone slim it will only be slightly thicker than it is now. I have come up with a couple of designs as well that allow me to use the stock battery door and hold the battery in place without my case. Like I stated in my earlier post, I'll post up the concept and see what ppl think. I just wish they made a battery cover that went around the battery and not make the entire back bubble out.
Check out the Mugen 4500 mah battery if you will be hacking up your back cover... I think there is a thread that has info for it.. Search
Gimme a week and ill post what im doing. Lol i still wanna keep the phone slim for the most part, so no 3500 or 4500 mah batteries

I'm loving my Yoobao 3000mah battery. With medium use, overclocking and custom kernel, I get about 36 hours out of my phone. Well 28-29 not counting sleep time.
verdict 2150mha touch pro 2 battery DOES NOT WORK!!!! Repeat DOES NOT WORK! So i bought a sedio 3500 battery and fell in love with that instead!
Does anyone know where i can find an extended battery cover similar to the one by seidio for my evo? I have an extended battery from amazon with the big cover and honestly i dont like it... seems like it isnt made for my evo. I just feel like the angle that it pops out of the back makes it look and feel awkward, and i especially hate the 4 bumps on the corners above the battery. Sometimes i have to push on the corners of the cover because i dont want dust geting in, and i feel like the added space other than the battery area is really unnecessary. So if it's possible, i would really love an extended battery back like the seidio one, preferably in a different cover(that would be fresh ), if anyone can help me find one!
Because the extended batteries all seem to have such different battery door covers, it's hard to say. I have been checking (and hoping) for seidio to make colored covers for the Evo for myself. The closest thing I found was on eBay. So try there for cases if you haven't already!
Good luck.
edited....i think I misunderstood your first post. If you are looking for the battery cover door though, ebay will probably still be your best bet.
Teresa

I have an extra seidio one i can sell you, its marked up slightly though, and one prong is missing i believe, connects fine and is not loose at all
how much you selling it for
If I was you I would take his offer if its within reason. I actually bought my seido from the factory store online and broke a prong off mine accidentally and looked everywhere for just the door alone. Now this could have very easily changed but as of before xmas? Seido themselves did not sell the door alone much less best buy or amazon etc. You can find a replacement flat standard door pretty easy, but one for the extended seido? I had tough time. I actually got them to send me one no charge, but I had just spent like 200 bucks with them so.....gl
The Sedio cover won't fit the Amazon battery.
Yes it will and make me an offer on the door its an official seidio

Gorilla gadgets has extened battery covers. I got my battery from them.
--Edited for a more thorough review--
Well I ordered the surface extended backdoor and case. I received the backdoor today (case was ordered yesterday should receive it next week. The backdoor fits over the 4200 mah hyperion battery with no problem and looks and feels better than the door you get with the extended batteries. Design and price are A+.
Bad thing is it came crammed in a box smaller than the retail packaging and one of the side clips was busted so it doesn't sit flush atm. I already sent an email to Seidio so hopefully they rectify it. It feels lighter and almost as slim as stock.
UPDATE:
Seidio Customer Service RMA'd the battery door and sent out a replacement asap. The replacement snaps in perfectly!
DESIGN:
The battery door and the case both feel excellent, sturdier than the flimsy stock door and the case is a nice hard and just as thick material wise as the normal Surface case. Both the door and case have that nice soft/rubbery/grippy feel, definitely helps prevent the phone from slipping out of your hands. Also the way the door and case are designed(top and bottom are slim, then a slight curve our to cover the battery) it just sits in the palm of your hand perfectly. It feels "just right" weight wise. The case also provides enough of a lip in front of the screen to protect it if you put it face down. As with any of these types of cases though angles could mean something else though.
PRICE:
Now the price might put some people off. But I already about a Pt(Platinum) case from Best Buy when I bought my SGS3 which is essentially the Seidio Surface case with Holster. The battery door cost $15 + shipping, then a week later I purchased the case ($29.95) + shipping. You can get the case + holster for a little bit more, but the battery door as of now needs to be ordered separately. I spent about $50 all together ontop of the $15 I paid for my Hyperion Battery so your running into Otterbox territory price wise, but now you have a better case, a holster (if need be) and a bigger battery when your out.
Seidio Customer service said they do run promotions from time to time so you could luck out and save money on this package.
CS:
Probably one of the few times I had to call customer service for a case warranty, but they were very polite, answered very quickly and shipped out my replacement asap. They didn't require me to ship my broken one back to them either. They do require images of the product showing the defective areas.
I have attached screenshots to this post of the case, which snaps over the Seidio battery door. You cannot use this case unless you are using the battery door from Seidio as its molded in the same fashion. The battery door screenshots are further down in this thread(still working on combining them into this first post).
The Battery door can fit over the following battery sizes:
3500 mah
4000 mah
4200 mah
4400 mah
I do not think the 4600+ mah batteries will work as they are too thick/tall.
This is a really good backdoor option for those of us running extended batteries.

Got a response from Seidio, doing an RMA (DOA) process. Not sure if I have to send this back in first or what not as the RMA team will respond once they get my information and pictures. I'll keep everyone updated and post pictures of the Extended Surface case when it comes in this week as well.

Is this case so far the only higher protection case available that supports extended batteries? I only know of this one and the cases from hyperion and qcell. I got the qcell case on the hyperion battery but want something more rugged, dont like the slippery feeling.
I have a white sgs3 as shown and like the StormTrooper look lol. The Surface Extended case(still waiting to receive it) is essentialy the Surface Case which is great(have it for stock battery). It let's you use the Seidio Holster it came with. You can use the same holster with the Hyperion battery door and honeycomb tpu if you bought it.
I prefer the slimmer profile and feel of this battery door. Also it is sturdier than the Hyperion which has cracked on me by the charging port
