Input method auto change (choose keybord using stylus)

Hi,
I would like to share with You my little app, that I wrote to make using HTC easier and more comfortable. With this app You can assign finger friendly keybord when stylu is In, and small keyboard for stylus when it is out. Unfortunately it works only on devices with stylus sensor like HD, Diamond, Touch Pro, SE X1 (I hope it works, I've tested with BlackStone only). If you have some suggestions, ideas or if You run this app on other devices please let me know.

I've updated apllication to version 1.1.2
New features:
- support landscape mode
- up to four screen keyboard support
I hope it'll be usefull.

nice app...i'm sure it will help me, as it seams that my touch hd keep changing input keybord completely randomly and with no logic whatsoever so will give a try...hope it will bring an law and order to that mess

hi any screenshots available? does it work like sipchange ? able to auto choose which keypad u want after startup ?

I've attached some screens. During system start, application is checking screen oreintation and stylus state and then deciding which keyboard should be used.

I tried the Cab file above, it really works, meaning it will change the Imput method according to stilus in or out.
But if I closed the phone or make a soft reset, the first time I want to write a message the imput method is still the standard one

You must setup program to start service with Windows.

Do you mean select the option "Run at Start up" ?
Yes I did select it but as I mentionned, after a reset or turning the mobile off, the first message I will write will open with the standard keyboard... I then move stilus in and out and it starts to work correctly until the next reset or turn off

So strange, because program is started. Maybe You are using keyboard which is loaded leter. Uncheck 'run at start' and add shortcut to autostart. After this program should start after all proceses and services.

Hi Nitro, is it possible to launch an application when you take out the stylus? I would love to have Phatpad opened when I do so, to take a quick note.
I won't mind closing it the one time I pull out the stylus in another app.

Do images rotate on turning the device without opening the keyboard? like on HD or Diamond? Because in my TP2, images do not rotate on turning the device as it is supposed to due to g-sensor .... isn't it? Does it have to be activated somehow or is it not possible in TP2 ... which will be strange.

by default rotation with gyro does not work on Rhodium.
You can use gyrator2 if you wish to enable this functionality.

I have the same problem. Screen rotates in opera, but not in Album.

same here, and gyrator is not the perfectly program for this... its slow, and it isn't integrated with WM after install. its just a stand-alone app what runs as the same way as other programs (you can also close it by taskmanager).
Also taksmanager doenst close programs by clicking [X] ?? (even when i select it)...

Attached regisry that will enable a lot of programs in G-sensor.
You also can edit by notepad to remove program that you are not like.

I understand this works great. few questions:
Doesn't it slow the device?
What programs do you suggest to be rotating without the screen sliding out and what programs do you think shouldn't flip to landscape because it gets annoying?

The same question could be applied to many things HTC have done with the Rom on the Rhodium.
At the end of the day, do what we do best here, add the functionality that you want, then fix any problems that occur afterwards.
I haven't noticed any adverse affects using gyrator, as yet anyway.

Doesn't it automatically display the picture at the maximum size? Meaning if it is a landscape picture it displays it in landscape and if it is a portrait picture it displays it in portrait? I actually prefer the way it is done in the new album which I am running on my FUZE.

Could someone help me out with the TomTom reg key? I get the modulename bit right, just point it to tomtomnavigator.exe. Don't really understand the whitelist key. What should the value be for Tomtom?

Awsome thread I downloaded and installed the gyrator2, but I cannot figure out what plugin/program to grab from microsoft to install that dotnet 3.5 on the phone to get gyrator to work. can someone please point me to the correct file?

to anyone else wishing to add an app to HTCs GSensor list in the reg and not knowing the window title or class...
download Gyrator2, install and run. Add a new event. Choose learn. Take stylus out. Make active the window you need the name of. Insert stylus. There! Gyrator has just told ya what ya need to know... Uninstall gyrator and add what it told ya to the reg...

Hello, brilliant suggestion from bigjezza. Myself I'm trying to get Microsoft Reader to react to my phone's gyrations. However when I bring up Gyrator 2 the MS Reader app is not listed. Actually it never came up in my program-list in the first place even though it did install and runs perfectly. Had to stick a shortcut in the Windows/Start-menu.
Any suggestion on how to get MsReader onto Garator's list, or does anyone know what the relevant data is for MsReader just like that?

I did install the .reg, then looked my self the new strings in the registry and everything looked OK, but the images on Album still do not respond to device rotation... Any other solution? Or it is need to activate or deactivate something else?

The Opera browser does it automatically. For everything else, practically every TP2 owner has installed 'Gyrator 2' or 'screenChanger' (my favourite), which are free apps utilising the G-Sensor. They run pretty much silently and allow you to configure which programs you want to rotate etc.

Yes. But only by sliding out the keyboard. You can use the G sensor, but then you have to adjust the registry.

Theres a reg hack to enable the change orientation function to be shown in the screen to change button assignments. So you can set when you hold down the send button it changes to landscape mode. And you don't have to pull out the keyboard!
I can't remember what it was mind.. but it's on these forums somewhere.

you dont need to use any program
there is a reg hack on here to allow it to tilt auto in things like calender etc etc

I did the reg that doesnt need any program running and it works great. With a bit of modding I got it to do TomTom, too.
TomTom on PDA is OK, but it still doesnt have text to speach for spoken street names.

changeScreen does a better job of hiding itself than Gyrator. One day I'll use the reg hack, but I'm still in the tinkering stage where I can't make up my mind about what programs I want to rotate, so it's easier for me to use the program option right now.

That is correct. However, mine starts itself at startup and you can tell it to minimise when it starts, so you don't need to worry about starting it up all the time. It also doesn't use much memory, so you don't need to worry about that either.

In samsung theme designer I tried to edit THEME XML file and change default wallpaper size wich is 1200x800, it didn't ****ing work...

we have a keyboard option in bada 2 which selected samsung keyboard as default. (maybe we can add another keyboard to select )
and i ask one of samsung employee and he said "i seems you can add various keyboard "

i know how add language (keyboard and ... ) to build a CFW.
i say in android we can add keyboard for example with bigger buttons or .... !
according to the screen shots it seems that we can chose another ketboard!

Keyboard option in bada 2.0 is made mainly to choose between different regions keyboards (checkout bada sdk to understand what i mean)
Samsung didn't make this option to allow third party keyboards - not yet ! - maybe in a future update or so
Maybe some great modders edit both *.so & *.rbm files to make their own keyboards but currently it is so hard to do it

i know that "WsRsrcVirtualEdit.rbm" is for keyboard color .
if you remember the first bada 2 keyboard was white if we replace this file our keyboard become white ! (but characters shows no change )
i have no more info !

Filename VivaSamsung mentioned is correct....it was a while back when i found out that info
WsRsrcVirtualEdit.rbm controls some parts of the keyboard theme...not everything
Also i was thinking of more functionality not just a theming thing

In WinSet I have not spent enough time to search...
It seems not all Pics visible... in XXLA1 DBT ...
Maybe more Pics in other Firmware... maybe bada 1.x better... for see all Pics...
Maybe we could disable meanwhile few Pics... to be sure it is what we think...
