Don't wipe data after flashing the ROM if you're on Standard, or your phone will not be usable. Wipe cache and dalvik-cache.

Recover Question

I installed my first rom (MIUI) yesterday and everything went well thanks to alot of reading. I like the way it look but i miss Sense. I did a backup before I flashed it so what is the steps to recover the back up with clockwork??

Go back into recovery > backups> restore > choose the one you want. The names of the backups are based on the date you made the nandroid

Before I do that do I have to wipe anything?

I won't hurt........I always wipe cache and dalvik cache. Your phone will take a few minutes longer to reboot.....that's about the only drawback.

Not necessary, but it wouldn't hurt anything. Calkulin's Format_All.zip wipes Cache, Userdata, Dalvik, System, and a few others that I'm forgetting. If I remember correctly, it's just a script that tells your recovery to wipe all those things. Like I said before, I like to use it if I'm ever changing ROM "brands" (ie going from MIUI to CM7, or From Myn's to CM7, etc.) because the systems are usually significantly different
i believe wiping before doing anything regardless its restoring or flashing a new rom is the way to go with Calkulin's format all and his clear temp. just in case it misses something. but thats just my opinion =)

Think I lost wifi keys??

Ok so flashed a rom open garden no longer works. Get ad-hoc error among others. Go to wifi try to view wifi and Mac address unavailable, try to connect says error. Need to perform clockworkmod restore/recovery? I think. But I flashed the PCS310img or whatever. Need help please
And thanks in advanced.

You would only lose an address if it were stored on the phone. if your contacts are backed up to google, they'll be there upon sign in. And yes, re-download, do a full wipe, then flash.

If you're currently using CWM, i'd flash the latest version, and then flash the rom.

flashed synergy kernel and phone cant place calls ... just receive calls and send/receive mgs
so i restore and flashed hercules kernel (faux) still same problem
any help
sry for the demon that brought u here
what do u mean u cant make calls ???
answer: once i tap the call button, get the calling screen and call ended right away
Did you just answer and replied to your own thread? Anyways use darksides super wipe and do a fresh clean install. Flash dark side kernel or Eugenes
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
Be aware if you flash TDJ's super wipe you will have to re flash the ROM also. You cant just use it to flash a kernel.

Yes, anything but your "/emmc" and "/emmc/sdcard" will be wiped. Not sure if thats the correct way to put it but it gets the point across
