[Q] After flashing with kernel i got a problem. - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have flash ROM Android Revolution HD 4.0_beta4 & after first complete start i have flash with Buzz_Sense_1.3.8.2_OC+.
With the same method of flashing a rom but after flashing kernel my phone performance speed decreases & the four keys at bottom stop working, after setting setcpu to 1612MHz the problem remains same.
Plz help.

There are no custom kernels for GB sense quite yet (source not yet released); reflash the ROM so you get the original kernel back, and check with the chefs before flashing kernels and other flashables that aren't supported.

[Q] Is it possible to CHANGE KERNEL on stock htc rom 2.3.5 rooted by nitro

Hi all:
I´ve been reading hundreds of post regarding roms and kernels and Im not sure if I can change the kernel to put for example unity v9 or 10 without changing sotck rom.
I want o OC and 2 way recording but I dont want to change rom.
Is this possible??
Thanks in advance.
No problems changing the kernel on a stock rooted ROM.
Just remember you're looking for a sense kernel, not an AOSP kernel.
Flashable from recovery.

I believe you can because i also own I9001 and since there's no proper custom rom for it when the kernel was available, people had flashed that to get init.d support but i'm no dev. If you have clockwork then you can try flashing it if you want...because i never heard of flashing a kernel alone but with the custom rom.
Thanks for the answers.
Now knowing that I can do it via clockwork.
What would be a good kernel?
I was thinking in Unity v9
Thank you
Its really down to personal preference, and how the kernel runs on your DHD.
Last time I was running sense I used Lees, but I don't know if he has call recording.
PS 4ext touch recovery is really nice.

Ok thanks jagdave.
Hehe and thanks for the suggestion.

[Q]MildWild MW-3 supported kernels

Can anybody provide list of supported kernels for MildWild MW-3?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2031467
Besides the stock one, these are modded Redux 2 kernels.

Also if in MW-3 thread, go back a few post and theres a link for a modded Thalamus kernel with SmartassV2.
Sent from my HTC Desire
already read post about thalamus mod8 kernel and install it
after install have problem with Legend of the Cryptids game.
time-to-time at start battle game screen show images and status bar show phone changes, but all screen and keys dont react on my touches. wait some time and phone self rebooted
reinstall mw-3 with original kernel and all in phone work fine
Original kernel is usually the best for the rom. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be there

Sharing info on kernel installation

Hi everyone,
Thought I'd share something I learned recently while installing the latest version of Devil Kernel along with Temasek ROM v28.
Firstly, I'd like to clarify that I'm a noob when it comes to custom ROMs and kernels so please bear with me if this seems obvious; this is mostly for the benefit of people like me.
I rooted my phone a month or two back and had no problems installing custom ROMs (thanks to Max Lee of galaxynote2root.com) However, I had some problems when installing Devil Kernel.
I had already installed Temasek ROM, so I booted into recovery and did dalvik/cache wipes before flashing the kernel. Upon reboot, I discovered I had lost mobile network i.e. the phone couldn't even register.
Through some trial and error, I realised that in order to restore the network, I had to:
1. Wipe Dalvik and cache.
2. Re-install the ROM and Gapps.(missed this part)
and only after that,
3. Install Devil Kernel.
Problem solved!
Hope this helps whoever has this predicament

My battery is draining faster on my custom rom 4.4.2 rather than on stock 4.3. What does a kernel?

A kernel is the interface layer between the hardware and software on your phone....
And is responsible for the core functions of the device....
Choose this piece of software carefully...g

Blade ROM, flashing Alex's kernel

Dear All,
After reading a lot in xda, and flashing several roms and kernels, I was very happy with Blade Elite v2.0, but now my battery is suffering and thought about trying a different kernel. I understand that Blade v2 ROM can only use the stock kernel, or alex-v kernel, though when I try to flash alex's kernel I am having some very bizarre problems.
There are several options within alex's latest kernel, i.e. new s2w, old s2w, without s2w etc. None of these boot.img files flash properly.
After flashing the kernel in fastboot and installing the modules in recovery, upon reboot the screen is upside down, inverse colours and a mirror image. It is very very odd.
Am I doing anything wrong, incompatible kernel/ROM/radio etc?
Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you
Personally I've been using Alex last kernel for a long time on Blade Rom without any issues. Lately lyapotas lm kernel is running great and getting ongoing development. I would go for that one. Make sure to fastboot erase cache before reboot.
Thanks for the tip, i've managed to flash lyapota with no problems - reading from old posts I thought only alex or stock kernels would work. Thanks very much - especially now I have s2w!!
:good:

[Q] Problems with ROM Flashing

Hello, everyone.
So I've stumbled upon a little problem that I don't know how to fix. My phone only can run either my Stock ROM or CyanogenMod ROM, I've tried flashing many many other ROMS but CyanogenMod is the only one I can get to work. About the rest of them they don't boot up, they get stuck on the boot screen and that's it.
And I'm rocking the HTC Incredible S ( VIVO) at the moment running CyanogenMod 10.1 Unofficial. As I wanted to try out some Sense based ROMS, with higher power optimization, maybe faster charging and no bloatware, because I enjoyed Sense just that my Stock Sense got a bit laggy so I decided to change it.
These are one of the main ROMS I tried to flash on my device I use Clockwork Recovery to do this, I don't know maybe some need specificly the EXT4:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240594 - SVHD ROM

I hope someone will be able to help me out.
Good Day to everyone.
