[Q] downgrade radio with slcd screen possible? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I really need some help here. I want to downgrade the radio in my HTC incredible from 2.15 to a stock 1.00 but if I follow any of the guides I've seen so far I end up with a black screen because the guides are meant for incredibles that have the older amoled screen, not the newer slcd screen.
can anybody PLEASE help me figure out how to downgrade the radio and keep full functionality of my screen??????
Thanks

Do you have the new slcd panel? Read your box.. does it say amoled ?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
yes the new SLCD
Thats probably the problem... I dont think HBOOT 0.80 supports SLCD.. what i know of its only 0.83 and 0.92
so what is the solution?
read thorough the thread posted in #3 there are replys there which may help you recover your screen
it doesnt work. i got 131 id error
how can i install rom with 1.21.xx? ive tried so many times. The only rom that works is the one with 1.19.x.x

I have a 0.75 Bootloader with SLCD Display Driver in T-mobile official ROM

Hi,
first a short introducing, this is my first post. I am reading the forum since 2007 that time with a HTC Wizard I could do great updates and on that, now i have a htc desire so i knew already where do i have to come for Informations .
Big credit all the guys who makes possible for us "noobs" to enhance our devices so easily.
To the topic:
in a 2 weeks old Desire from T-mobile, with an Android Version 2.1 and a Boot Loader Version 0.75.0000 I am quite sure I have an SLCD Display installed as well.
We have 2 devices purchased them together, I tryed to root of course mine 2 days after that , and had the blank screen problems with rooted rom hboot 0.75 and 0.80. Took a day to recover from that, but now because of this I have on that device an original HTC Rom with latest froyo update and 0.92 hboot unfortunately. I didn't properly check hboot version before rooting. But after that happend was sure at least i must had a 0.83 Bootloader.
Now, after I was checking the boot loader version on the other device, I was quite surprised, because I see a HBOOT 0.75, and started to investigate the display type.
If I Print kernel messages i see Display Initialization like: Sony wvga.....
on both devices.
Because of the root blank screen problem, the kernel driver messages, I am quite sure, the official T-mobile Rom have 0.75 HBOOT with SLCD Support and our Desires also an SLCD Display.
Am I right? Would be interesting, it might would make possible to use that boot loader and root with SLCD drivers, an Idea for the experts or am I completely wrong? Wouldnt need to go for 0.83 or 0.92 HBOOT. Or I completely wrong..
Regards
Joe
You don't need to worry about the bootloader. Read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749551
I see, thank you.
Yes, after a day without screen and experience on the Desire to get it working again, i was sweating a bit, so i dont try to get rid of 0.92 without a display.
Was a mistake to install the 2.2 update from the market...but I am quite sure you guys figure out a solution in the futrure
I expect someone will find an exploit in froyo eventually, allowing an easy root and no need to downgrade.
I have the same thing...
AMOLED T-Mobile HTC Desire.
HBOOT 0.75, running the 2.09 froyo rom.....

[Q] Non stock ROM on OTA 2.2 SLCD

Hi,
I have an HTC Desire sim free which i bought in Germany about a month ago.
I bought it after the release of the official HTC Froyo. The update did not occure automatically so I downloaded the package from htc.com and updated manually.
I assume it has SLCD and not AMOLED but i'm not sure.
To the point:
I want to deploy Leedroid 2.0a and;
1. I'm not sure it's possible with SLCD/OTA 2.2.
2. The biggest question: How do I do it if it's possible?
3. HBOOT 0.92.0001 suggests I have SLCD?
4. Will I be able to return to the original ROM as if nothing had happened?
Many thanks,
Tal.
Hi, read the back of the box if it doesn't say "amoled screen", it is slcd, you can always revert to stock if something goes wrong. To root just start form here- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745903 , just be careful to follow the instructions.
Hi,
First of all thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I don't have the original box :-(
I read that if I downgrade SLCD to HBOOT 0.80 I'll end up with a black screen.
Did anyone succeed in doing so?

[Q] Is it possible to downgrade from 3.30 back to stock 3.26?

I have a somewhat unique situation that I haven't been able to peace together after 6 days of searching threads. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!
My elderly mother bought an EVO recently after I bought one and some idiot talked her into running the 3.30 RUU on an EVO with software 3.26.651.6, baseband 2.15.00.07.28, and hardware ver 3. This also upgraded her HBOOT to ver 2.02. From my thread searching, it seems that 3.30 isn't intended for EVO's with HW ver 3 and may impact the phone's performance and/or battery life. I do believe that there was an OTA for her phone for 3.29.651.5.
I am wondering if it is possible to downgrade her HBOOT and sw back to 3.26.651.6 and the corresponding HBOOT version? I would then want to apply the OTA to update to 3.29.651.5, where she should be. She NEEDS to have a stock phone . From searching threads it appears that I need to root her phone using the 'like a boss" method and then run the RUU 3.26.651.6. However, I am unable to find the stock 3.26 recovery img needed. I do have the stock 3.30 recovery img but am reluctant to use a different recovery img.
Help please, if you can!
A little direction if you can...
Anyone? Just looking for a little direction here. Also, trying to follow the rules and keep this out of the dev section...
Not a noob to rooting, just to the EVO. Rooted my old hero and flashed a few diff roms...just want to make sure I have the right info and am prepared before I start rooting the phone. I really have searched MANY threads and I feel confident about rooting the phone via "Like a boss" and illogos's updates but I didn't find anything about successfully un-rooting to a pre 3.30 software version.
Can I just run the RUU for 3.26xxx after rooting? I'm assuming that will be fine with S-Off and an older hboot.

[Q] Downgrade radio with slcd possible?

Hi guys. I'm trying to downgrade the radio in my HTC incredible from 2.15 to a stock 1.00 but any of the guides I've found are just for the incredibles with the older amoled screen, not the newer slcd screen which I have. Every time I downgrade with a regular radio I lose all functionality of my screen and it goes black and unresponsive. I end up having to put a recovery image on my SD card and flashing back to normal blindly.
Can someone PLEASE help me to flash a stock 1.00 radio on this phone and keep my screen running???
Thanks
That radio revision has to match the ROM version you are running. 1.00 radio has not been used since back in the 2.1 days... If you want to return to stock follow to "unroot" threads and once you flash over the original rom that should have changed everything to match again like you had just bought the phone.
1.x radio isn't stock.
Dinc's going out the door today are running at least 2.15.x.7.28 .
That IS the stock radio, this is Froyo, not anything earlier.

God just killed a kitten.
I'm trying to repair the MEID on the phone. I bought it off ebay and the MEID is all screwed up. I am following a guide that will allow me to re-write the MEID back to the phone but it says i need to downgrade my radio to 1.00.03.04.06.
The guide is located at http://cdmagurus.com/forum/showthread.php/4530-Easiest-way-to-repair-meid-on-the-Incredible
and http://cdmagurus.com/forum/showthread.php/4456-Easiest-way-to-repair-meid-on-the-Evo
The slcd never got drivers for 2.1. I doubt the guide will work
