I was woundering, is there any way to install a stock UNTOUCHED Android ? If yes, how ?
I currently got perm root and CoreDroid installed.

I would suggest you try the CyanogenMod rom and searching sir.

I did try Cyanogenmod but the phone just started to loop reboot if I enabled wifi, so now I want to try original Android.

I don't think it is supposed to be like that and that it could not be fixed? Did you try other radios and so on? You could also try Spike Pure Gingerbread v1.0. Just look in the development section, there are plenty of roms...

Its a known issue,
1) Install CM7
2) Boot it first time
3) Do setup (skip Gmail setup)
4) shut down and reboot the phone.
5) Connet to your wifi without any boot loop.....

Thank you,
but I'm still woundering. Is there possible to install vanilla (original) Android on DHD ? Official Google release, untouched.

Yes, if you swap your desire hd to a nexus. There is no untouched vanilla android from google for the dhd as google doesn't make it. To make it work some modifications has to be made.

The easy way would be to use ROM manager, open rom manager, do "backup of current rom" first to back up this working rom in case you want to revert after flashing a new rom, next go to "download Rom" and choose a new rom to download (there are only currently three roms offered in rom manager CyanogenMod,Virtuous and CyanogenMod Nightlies but I dont recommend Nightlies for noobs could have lots of bugs) it will ask if you want to install it, remember to select wipe data/cache any time you switch roms, and let it install the rom.
Other wise you will have to download a rom install it to the root of your sd card, open ROM manager, select boot into recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, select install zip from sd, select choose zip from sd, choose the rom zip you installed and apply, when done reboot and finish. Remeber in either case do a backup in rom manager first.
Thank you so much, do you happen to know where i can find a sense 2.2 rom??

Thats Virtuous, its what I use, use rom manager and download Virtuous 0.8.1 full rom and install.
Remember to wipe when changing roms, you don't need to wipe when applying updates.

Never used the service, but in going to the website its not loading on my home computer the server might be down. I would try again later. If you still have issues please search the following thread for a fix and if there is no awnser for it you can post your problem there too...

Anytime you install a fresh rom, it starts fresh, you can use the app titanium backup to make a backup of your apps, and info and reinstall them onto diffrent roms. I would suggest to start reading the diffrent threads in this form and start learning how you use your new rooted phone and all the options you now have. Remember there are some roms and radios you dont want to intall on your phone, like the ones made for the desire z. Also might want to check out gfree for your phone. That will give you radio s-off and a true permroot, but you have to use adb to do this. It will also unlock the carrier and carrier id for the phone(so you can use other carrier sim cards). Here is another video on how to set up adb on your computer and the driver needed for your phone.
http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-set-up-adb-usb-drivers-for-android-devices/
Remember dont do anything unless your sure you understand the directions. Keep reading and searching, this is what is gonna help you understand diffrent aspects of modifying your phone, another good resource is youtube, look up videos on how to do diffrent things, have fun.
Alright thanks

[Q] Cyanogenmod7 Nightlies

Hi,
For some reason in rommanager I can only see up to #13 for the cyanogenmod nightlies?
Does anyone else have this problem?
The reason I bought the paid version was to get access to all of them.
Thanks
Paul
Well you got ripped off because Rom Manager is ****. Seriously, you should NEVER flash anything with Rom Manager or have it installed at that. Just download it from CyanogenMod, put it on your SD and install it via recovery.
Rom manager does what it is supposed to do and does it well.
The reason you do not see anymore nightlies is because there are no more. The nightlies got reset after RC1 was released. There isn't a new njghtly every night because sometimes there is no successful build.
Rom Manager does everything really poorly, seriously. It is useless and causes so many problems.

The main issue(s) is when you reboot. Say you flash a rom, when you reboot it tends to just reboot and not flash the rom or anything. It does stuff like that. Rom Manager tries to be the recovery but whilst booted up but fails. Fair enough, it works for some people but so many other people have problems with it. Ok, it has been developed for "noobs" and yes, I did kind of use it at first but then I found out from my own experience it didn't work too well. I think that people should forget about Rom Manager and just boot up into recovery and just use that since the recovery actually works, and only takes a reboot (depending on your rom) to get into it.
Why, do you like it?
I've noticed same issue with the nightly. I've tried manually flashing the newer ones, but get an error on the device check. So rom manager is correct 13 or RC2 are the latest that will install

Am a bit of a newbie to the custom rom world. So far rom manager has worked fine.
Am currently on cyanogen rc2 and have flashed my radio without problems. As a Java developer and a phone geek people think I am mad for mucking about with my phone so much.
The question was because I thought I had read there was a nightly 15.

I have had the same issue with Rom Manager. I had to download directly from the Cyanogenmod site
Just flashed 17 and it seems to be really fast!

I don't know if it's related, but I had trouble with CM7 RC2 when installed through ROM Manager, but manually flashing the CM7 Nightly #17 worked just fine. I wiped the caches etc. on both tries (or rather, ROM Manager did on the RC2).

Problems with fresh installed custom ROM after a few days...!!

Hi all,
I have a routed DHD and have used the advanced ace hack kit, everything went well and the root was successful.
Now when I'm trying new roms from XDA the problem is that for 1 week the rom work absolutely fine and after that suddenly it is in bootloop and then I have to change the rom.
I have tried the following roms:
1) Core Droid v9.2
2) Lee latest rom v5.1.1
3) virtuoso affinity latest build
4) bindroid
n a lot more but still having the same issue.
Right now I'm on ARHD 6.3.1
Requesting a sincere help from the dev community....!!
Sent from my DHD using XDA App
Look at what mods you do or what you install..must be some kind of trigger maybe..have u updated Rom only not radios kernels etc etc?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
apart from installing the roms i haven't touched on anything....as i'm new to all this.
Try cyanogen for a while..have you flashed any roms without sense?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
Hmm, strange. What about ROM internal modifications or options?
As you tried LeeDrOiD 5.1.1 you seem to have that problem not always after 1 week (cause it's not that old *g*), so what about trying this:
of course make a backup of your data
full wipe your device (you can make sure to do it right by using a full wipe script
install a new rom and fully boot it
keep running it for a day without reinstalling your preferred apps
keep installing the apps step by step and watch the system's behaviour
When installing your new ROM and setting it up again, do you restore any data by using tools like Titanium Backup? If so, do you also restore system data or apps (+ data) only?
PS: maybe edit your topic's title to something better like "Problems with fresh installed custom ROM after a few days" or so.

installing a custom rom STEPWISE (long as i got an idea from)

okay i want all the experienced people on this forum to help me with this thing and i hope a lot of people would get help with this post
i am using HTC DESIRE HD on it's stock firmware that is 2.3.5 and htc sense 3.0, to start flashing a custom rom (cyanogen 7.2 as an example) i have to follow the following steps (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG)
1) i have to root my device using the AAHK (link: http://tau.shadowchild.nl/attn1/?p=74)
2) then to back up my contacts i have to use SMSbackup (which is available on the android market), have a backup on the sdcard and copy it to ur device
3) now i have to download the custom rom (cyanogen 7.2) (link: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=ace)
4) now i have rooted my device and i will copy this rom in .zip format into my sdcard and go into the recovery mode by turning off the phone and then holding power and volume down button
5) i have to backup my existing rom by running a nandroid backup in the backup/restore (it's visible in the recovery mode)
6) once the back up is done i'll have to formate my sdcard and format the cache
7) then i have to select the "flash .zip file from sdcard" and i am done
please tell me if this process is alright or is there anything that i am missing
secondly is there any way through which i can save my apps?
last but not the least, if i wanna flash this kernal (http://blackice.omca.co.uk/download/...7-2WCR-TUN.zip) what do i have to do?
POINT ADDED: IF U ARE USING ANDROID 2.3.5 AND SENSE 3.0 THEN U HAVE TO DOWNGRADE TO THE PRIOR VERSION OF SENSE I.E 2.1, HOW DO I DOWNGRADE USING THE AAHK kit? PLEASE HIGHLIGHT THIS
The steps are correct. Except at step 6 you wipe all partions except SD card (called superwipe).
And your appdata will be automatically restored whenever you reinstall a app if you got your phone synced to your Google account.
And you flash the kernel as you flash a Rom but you only wipe dalvik and cache.

What do i select in the recovery mode for step 6? And i have a spare 2gb sdcard can i use that for flashing the rom? This would help me save my songs and all

I'm not sure but try to sync all. Otherwise you could try titanium backup. Never used it but I have heard its good for saving appdata.

First of all you need to root before you can change the recovery. Download AAHK and read the effen manual.

Titanium backup works great. It restores all non system apps and data, everything works great except (in my case Viber, it crashes and I have to re activate account after each flash).
I'd also have a question on flashing kernels. I have flashed 5-6 different ROMs but never a kernel (It is possible that these ROMS had other kernels but I'm not sure):
1) do I flash kernel BEFORE or PRIOR to new ROM? (or it doesn't matter)
2) if iI fo superwipe script from android revolution, can I then flash ROM and KERNEL one after another? (no need to wipe dalvik again)
D.

just a small note which is written on the AAHK manual and Thread but to make sure u notice it is that don't downgrade tooooooo much "I.E 2.1"
if u want to downgrade so u can root... u either let the AAHK do the downgrade for u or u do it your self either ways u musn't get lower than 2.3.3 so u wont get in kernal problems "which i once got, and god it was BAD".
good luck

They are, just read the thread, there were a few corrections.
Make sure to read the manual called 'effen manual' a few times for the hack kit.

Also, if you have your google account synced to your phone right now, it'll automatically restore contacts when you re-restore your Google account on the new ROM.
Sometimes android market/play store will automatically begin restoring apps by redownloading them (along with data) and some other things. If you prefer titanium, make sure that the play store isn't doing this by going to my apps. If your phone is running really laggy even after a minute or two after you set things up, chances are google play is redownloading all your old apps and chewing up your phone's hardware and data.

1) I had Downloaded free Sms BackUp And Apps BackUp from Play store.
2) Then I just Backup-ed all My Sms and Apps.
3) Then I went on my contact--> Manage Contacts --> Exported All My contacts from Google as well as from My Phone to my SD card.
4) For my safety purpose I then copied all my data from my memory card to my hard disk.
5) Then I used AAHK Tool:-
# What it did was just downgraded my Radio(Internet Required)
# Then Rooted my device-->Super CID-->BusyBox-->4EXT-->and so on...
DONE...

[Q] Problem when installing PACman

I follow all the instructions for installing PACman on my HTC One V (GSM version), but when everything is finished and I restart my phone, it gets stuck on the HTC welcome screen. I figured it was because of a buggy kernel, so I used hellboy's, but when it does start up, it doesn't have any connectivity (no wifi, network, data transfer etc). I'm now running cyanogen without any problems what so ever, so I guess my phone's not broken. Any tips?
You have to do a full wipe from recovery,or it will give those bugs.
which pac man rom bro.... there is a 4.2.2 kernel u need to use that with the latest ROM
I did do a full wipe, like 5 times, and I'm using the bundled kernel.
