I had the same problem where it would show wifi and 3g at the same time, but no internet. I tried turning the hot spot on for a few seconds then off. And then manually disconnecting from the wifi, then reconnecting to it. I seem to not be having those problems anymore. Hope it helps.

Hi there,
My wifi is set up to use my home wirless network and works well when connected. The problem I am having is that when I have left the house for some considerable time and come back home, it doesn't seem to search and connect to the wifi again. I have to do it manually.
Had same issue but it is working now. Didn't do nothing to fix.
But my wife's wildfire is having the problem still.

I had the same problem after installing swiFTP.
The only temporary fix and to get a link to the WiFi was to restart the phone.
After removing swiFTP things went back to normal.
Looking for any ideas...
When I activate WiFi near a known network, it starts to connect, holds at obtaining an ip address, the disconnects and restarts the connection process.
Happens on multiple WiFi access points, home, work, hotel. Rebooted my home router in the hopes that it was coincidence, but it did not help. Wife's Facinate and iPad, and both of our work laptops (Windows7) connect to the home network just fine.
Running CM7 Nightly 258
11/14 Incredikernel, downgraded to the unofficial 11/04 and the official 10/8. Even tried the stock CM7 kernel.
Was running the 08.08 radio, switched to the 07.07, but still have the issue.
WiFi works after a wipe and reinstall untill I reboot, then this starts.
My droid pro did that on cm7 for a while. It would connect if I went to the WiFi settings screen though. Have you tried going to WiFi settings while its in this connecting loop?

Unfortunately yes. I have turned on wifi from the notification widget and from inside settings and receive the same result, no connection and a big battery drain.
Fixed it over the weekend. In case others have problems with AT&T U-Verse 2Wire routers, the change I made that resolved it was to switch from the router default wireless security of WPA to WPA/WPA2...
Does anyone know how to fix this issue? My phone seems to get confused about if it should be connected through wifi or 3g/4g for data. For example, if I am at home and connected to my wifi, then get in the car and leave without disabling wifi, the phone acts as if it does not recognize the 3g/4g connection at all. It will just tell me I have no network connection since I am out of range of wifi. Same happens when I am connected with 3g/4g and I walk/drive by a wifi area and I do not join the network. The open app that is using data will then loose its connection and tell me there is no network connection. Simply disabling my wifi and restarting the app does not work. I often have to reboot the phone or turn off my mobile data signal and then enable it to establish a connection.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have this problem also, I will have something like streaming music playing then when I am out of range of wifi it dose not go to 3g on verizon. If I don't have any thing using wifi and disable it before going out of range and starting a stream no problem, but when it happens I switch to airplane mode then back and it works fine.
Your not the only one who has this problem.

Same here. Not sure what's causing it. I have to go into airplane mode, which itself seems to take ages, and then turn off airplane mode to establish 3g connection.
I thought it may be a mess up from aokp, and after a clean wipe and flash it seemed fine, but then started showing the same behavior , failing to comnect to 3g after exiting wifi zone.
Does anyone have an answer for this problem? Is it a hardware glitch or software or app caused problem?
Any help would be dearly appreciated too!
Known issue in AOSP right now..

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear it doesn't seem like a hardware problem, though I have yo admit I didn't see it on the aokp wikis ... Would you know if it's a problem for an unknown minority our a more general one?
So, I guess, then stock room should be fine? I was only on stock for a few days before flashing aokp. Going back would be a nuisance, but if I can have armless transition from wifi to 3g, then I guest I should -( ...
Any talk on when it may be solved in the aosp community?

hey guys,
I searched couple threads and could not find any answer to my problem.
My t989 shows connected to wifi but does not browse web, or any sorta data transfer. this happens only when i am home. some people said it could be a problem with my dsl modem. my dsl modem is D-Link. Waiting for your solutions. Thank you.
Reset the router?

Tried that couple times. It works for an hour or so then it stops working again.

Does it happen when you leave the wifi zone and then come back?
You leave. Wifi disconnects. You reenter and wifi reconnects, but doesn't send/receive data?
Try telling the phone to forget the access point's information and then reenter it. See if it will start pulling data again.
The reason I am asking is because I have an issue like the one i just outlined. Switching roms doesn't help. It's very odd and happens with EVERY wifi spot. I've been wondering if someone else had the same issue.
Do you have a wireless home phone at home or maybe a neighbor who has one? Because from what I understand it could be the radio frequency of your (or someone's) home phone. I had a netgear 2.4 ghz and the wifi connection would be interrupted once my home's phone (which also operates at 2.4) is being used.
So in other words, check to see if you have anything in your house that might be running the same radio freq as your router.
I just flashed back to stock rom a few days ago after i had problems with pa 3.99 . I can connect to 3g mobile internet fine but is just that when i turn it off and turn it back on after a few hours. It wont connect. Regular phone signal is fine but mobile data wont connect. The only way to fix this is by rebooting and then it will be able to connect to 3g again. Then after a few hours later and turning it back on, same thing happens. What problem is this? Im sick and tired of rebooting my note 2 everytime i want to use mobile internet... help?
