Here are four bootanimations I did.
Please be gentle, they are my first attemps.

I need help though. I find it very hard to find gifs at 480x800. Does this mean that if I have to make my own?
Cool stuff. The epic and the cheering lol I'm keeping thoes around just in case.
And the files don't have to be that size, they should display as instructed on the desc.txt file.
Feel free to create your own images.....there's a lot to learn out there. Maybe one day I will create my own.

I think what you do is like download an avi movie 720p, and cut the segment out you want to use as a gif, and turn that avi into a gif using a program.
That's basically what I do, or have done so far lol.
I found a couple youtube videos and converted them to avi, than used virtualdub to make pngs of the section of the video I wanted. Works good enough for now.

Aha I loved elfen lied or whatever the name was haha
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Yea, Elfen Lied.
K what I don't get is that most videos we watch are 16:10 or 16:9, and that doesn't resize to fit a 480x800 screen at all. Are we expected to do it in landscape mode? Or crop the original vid and then resize it?
That really depends on you. You can do it either way.
I like rotating my animations so they play full screen, but thats just me.

UPDATE: Just added Portal icons and image hack to give your WP7 a complete Portal theme. Check it out...
With Portal 2 out today, I thought some might like the Portal 2 transparent wallpaper I created for the WP7.
I have a question as well. Anyone know a way to access a zip file later on that has been downloaded on to the WP7? A commenter had mentioned you can download, open and install the transparent wallpaper right from the WP7 instead of emailing it to yourself saving a few steps but the problem is, with no file system and as far as I know, no zip app, there seems to be no way to find the downloaded zip file later on.
The only thing I came up with was to bookmark the zip file before opening. If anyone has a better idea, please let me know.

There is a lot of devices out there with great cameras for taking video. Chances are, you've taken some videos on your device and now have a bunch just hanging around. I say hanging around because video editing sometimes isn't always easy to do nor is it all that fun really.
A new but well known app has now made its way to the Google Play Store and it aims to take some of the frustration of video editing for you. Just shoot and upload video from your device, choose a soundtrack and give your movie a title and the Magisto movie maker will automatically edit your movie for you.
Unprecedented AI Technology that analyzes and edits the best parts of your videos Easily share to Facebook, Twitter, Email and even YouTube Automatic video stabilization, filters, effects and transitions Facial recognition detects the important people in your videos Upload videos from your Gallery or use Magisto as a smart video camera Add soundtracks from your device or from Magisto’s library of licensed music Access your movies from any device.

Was just having a look on the Official Android Develops site (http://developer.android.com) and noticed google had added a tool which allows you to upload your screenshots, and the tool automatically overlays them onto the screen of your device.
They only list the Pure Google devices, Nexus 4,7,10 and the older models etc, but it is still really handy. Even has options for shadow and glare.
Maybe I'm just late to the game, but I had never seen this before? Will certainly make posting in homescreen threads a lot easier.
Link is http://developer.android.com/distribute/promote/device-art.html
It's certainly a tool I will be using a lot, so I hope this is of some assistance to others too :good:

A much more simple way for doing this is the app called "Device Frame Generator"
+ it does contain more devices.

New to me as well. Thanks for sharing.
I used to think I want some bootanimations not only simple but nice, so I tried to make ones.
Of course... how you feels about these animations may differ between people, but I did my best, so I wish someone who thinks this is nice can apply this usefully.
It's quite short animations but it takes almost 6 hours cause I didn't buy Photoshop.... :silly:
so I draw this with MsPrint, and some fundamental utilities :crying:
bootanimation.zip (letter 'G' appears, then keeps glowing)

shutdownanimation_rev.zip (letter 'G' turns brighter, then shatters into pieces)
(hmm... gif animations are playing so slow in my computer... if you are, too, remember that animation goes faster than you see above.)
In Korean JB rom, it's easy to change boot/shutdown animations : just paste these animation zip files to directory '/system/media/'.
But I don't exactly know about other roms, so you might have to convert these files to other format, or even decompile some apps.
I don't mind whether you use images inside these animations, but please tell me after using them : as I mentioned, they're 6-hour-images :cyclops:

2013. 1. 30. : I improved some brightness problem on the first uploaded file(shutdownanimation.zip), and it is uploaded now(shutdownanimation_rev.zip). When you apply this shutdown animation, please rename "shutdownanimation_rev.zip" to "shutdownanimation.zip"
It looks like .gif animation I uploaded don't work properly on xda app... just stopped images are shown. If you want to see animated preview, please view this post on PC.

HyperColor in an LWP utilizing Fluid Dynamics algorithm.
Its fully configurable, there are 38 presets and 40 backgrounds, 16 particle types.
It allows you to create simple bokeh effect with your own color sheme, or some more complicated theme,
there are about 10 diffrent properties you can change, glow, viscosity, particle size etc..

Looks nice, but all the Youtube vids are private.
If you want me to try it and give you an honest opinion, you'll have to give me something that doesn't lock me out of basically all the customization options.
Video is private..

Downloaded it, looks pretty nice. The preset screen shots are a little small tho when i was looking through them. Ill play with it some more tho.
How much is the full version before I even bother wasting my time.
