I need to send in my slide to get warranty work and I can't unroot. I do not have s off
I can access the bootloader but not the recovery.
What I need is a way to make it not boot up at all. (can still boot by plugging in the phone then inserting the battery) or to unroot....
help please =/
Power button does not work at all
Didn't realize the phone could be booted up until after I had htc send me a replacement... it just got to me today and I need to send them this one.
What I could use (though I don't know if it's possible) is an esprimg of 1.35.531.1 I can't downgrade because I can't access recovery
Nevermind... my charging cord just ate the port in the phone... so it can't turn on now XD
I suppose that's what happens when you don't use the oem cord lol

Hey Guys,
Im having trouble with a dash. I flash it with the EVO ROM thats on the sticky a few months ago. I cant get a signal. It will Say PHONE OFF then go to SEARCHING.. back and fourth back and fourth. Anyways I wanted to flash it back to the stock tmobile dash rom so I could atleast start from scratch again. I thought it had something to do with my SIM card, but I put it in a RAZR V3 and it worked no problem.
Anyways when I hook the phone up to the computer it charges and everything. It even pulls up windows mobile device center. Then when I run the .EXE from t-mobile to flash it back, it says it cant find my phone. "check the cable or usb" or whatever. But my computers reads it and everything. What do I do?
Thanks,
Tim

Ok i did a factory reset with the two soft keys and the power button, but its still having trouble working propery. I can get it to boot all the way, but I need to get into boot loader to flash tmobiles basic rom. I press the camera button next to the space bar and hit the power button and it boots up, it doesnt go into bootloader. I read somewhere hold the camera button and plugged it into the USB is still no bootloader. is there any other way I can get into boot loader?

you can put your question in the Desire Q&A forum or in the Desire general forum.
some one? please?
Have you tried taking out the battery for a few minutes and putting it back in?
Could be phone battery got too much power from your car charging port. If thats the case, maybe you could exchange the battery.
yes, i have tried, i think the problem is with to rom, but i cant install any new rom coz they all need rooted device and to root the device i need it to be turned on
If it's the stock rom send it back to HTC for repair. Mention that it has a faulty motherboard. If you don't want to send it back boot in to fastboot or recovery and do a factory reset to see if it changes anything.
Don't ask how to do that just search.
why do you think that this is a motherboard problem?
i have tried a hard reset and it stuck on the same place - the htc logo.
and i have searched before i posted my question...
anyone? please?
some one? i need some help please
If you are running a stock rom, it can definately not be something wrong with the rom, as there are no way! Files in the rom(/system) can be changed while you were using the phone. So if a factory reset as mentioned earlier doesn't solve the problem, you will need to send it in for repair. Do a factory reset by:
1. hold down "vol down" and press "power" while keeping the "vol down" pressed
2. Choose recovery by using volume keys and power button
3. when seeing the red triangle and the ! hold "vol up" and press "power"
4. in the menu choose factory reset by using volume keys and power button
if you can't do first step(boot into bootloader), or this doesn't help the problem, you will have to send it in for repair...
and for god's sake do not try to root, as you will just void the warranty.
same thing happend me too yesterday. i search everywhere... found nothing.
phone charge is empty and turned off.. wont came again. stuck on HTC logo screen. i tried Vol (-) + Power button to Recovery, phone restarting and again stuck same screen. i cant install any rom.
i was buy in germany i'm living in turkey and call customer service, they said: "we cant get warranty your device. because you get it out of turkey"
how can i fix this pls help..
hboot: 0.93.0001
radio: 5.11.05.27
rom: stock ota update 2.29.405.9 (i think was last update this)
Hey guys
I've got a desire which doesn't boot or even charge. There's no light when trying to charge and the PC doesn't even try to show the phone.
I've tried to charge it for a while to see if the battery charges - nothing happening here. I've also tried another battery. It just seems dead.
Any advice whether it can be revived?
Can you boot into Hboot (press and hold volume down and power button for a few seconds when phone is off) or Fastboot (press and hold back and power button for a few seconds when phone is off)?
If u could get in to fastboot then it can be fix. If not then what knows wrong with it.
cheers for the reply guys.
can't get it into hboot or fastboot. it's just dead. looks like it's completely knackered.
Out of warranty etc, so looks like it's a doorstopper.
Desire doesn't release more than two years ago, which is the time for the warranty -> You are still under warranty. So use it.
Can I still use the warranty even if I've rooted it and put on a LeedDroid ROM?
If I can - that would be fantastic

the fact in the matter is that it is DEAD. so even if you were rooted, S-OFF'd, had a custom SPL, had a custom ROM - IT. DOES. NOT. MATTER. If it's dead, they can't tell.
Go for warranty.
Hello fellow G2 users.. my G2 phone won't turn on ... I had it rooted for a few months running Sense 2.1 and 3.0 roms then last night I tried going back to stock because the roms kept freezing and causing all sort of problems.. wifi failure, fc prompts.. ok, I had hboot for the desire z then I tired going back to hboot for the g2 ever sense then the phone refuses to turn on and there's only a orange light flashing and sometimes stays still.. please help.. I don't know what to do.. when I try loading boot loader volume down and power nothing happens..
I'm not an ace but bootloader should work, how long are you holding the power button? Does plugging it charge it? Is the battery dead, it have you pulled it? Does ADB see the phone at all? Have you checked the guide you were following?
30 seconds.. I held the power button for 30 seconds it worked before.. now it's not turning on or going into boot loader. . when plugged in it flashes orange.. I pulled the battery out and put it back in and nothing happens just keeps flashing orange.. my computer doesn't' recognize the phone anymore.. I don't know what's going on..
30 second with and without holding down the volume down button? Weird, no flicker on the screen or anything? Sounds like a possible brick, anyone else have any ideas?
Sound like you need a new phone.. coz if you hold down power button and down volume for 30 second it should boot up. If not your phone might brick.

What exactly did you do to restore the G2 hboot? Am I reading this correctly that this is exactly when it wouldn't turn on?
a friend of mine tried loading hboot from eng-hboot.. still there's no way it would brick the phone!!.. I don't know what else to do. my computer can't recognize the phone anymore.. I'm trying to use adb reboot-bootloader.. but it says device not found..

Flashing hboot is a potential way to brick the phone. Flashing recoveries and roms is relatively safe (recoverable), but if you flash a bad copy of hboot, then I think JTAG is your last option.
Do you know exactly what your friend flashed? md5 hash, file name, which fastboot command?
I'm not sure what the file name is called I'll have to ask him. What is JTAG?
PM me if you need help with this I can bring it back from the dead ...

I am happy that we have someone around with these capabilities, but please get your website working correctly.
Every time I go there and click on a link, it takes like 2 or 3 minutes to come in, rather than fractions of a second - and it seems to do this no matter where I access it, whether home computer, work computer, public wifi or smartphone.....
Not having trouble with any other websites, so might wanna get that fixed
When you connect the charger to the phone if it flashes orange it means it needs battery to boot up wait for about 10 minutes and then try to turn it on with the charger still connected
If it doesn't boot up you have a serious brick
Hi all experts,
Galaxy Nexus went seriously bricked...
can't get to any mode by holding any bottons (vol + Vol - power)
the phone do not turn on (battery fully charged) if it is not plug into some source of USB (screen will show when plug in wall charger or usb cable to computer)
When plug into the wall or usb to the computer. the "phone icon .. Triangle ! .. computer" icon will lite. if i click the power botton again the screen will go off for about 5 sec and light up again with the same icon.
Computer reconize the phone when plug in.
Odin3 reconize the phone when plug in.
When try to flash software on ODIN3 it fail.
(sorry new user can't post pic... )
is it done??
how it happen was a mistry, phone was given to a little kid (for 10 mins) and the camera app was frozen, i unpluged the battery (no respond on power botton) and it became bricked...
More info,
Bell branded Galaxy Nexus HSPA+
thanks all in advance
Did you flash or unlock it ? if its OEM, id just exchange it
Hi Android01,
i can only send it for warranty which is going to take way too long (up to month and a half).
i was hoping to try everything before sending it back. Bell already promised to do a warranty for me and i have nothing to lose...
thanks for your reply.
aaaaaand thats why we don't use Odin.
You're unable to get into bootloader mode? (pull battery..... then hold vol down and up + pwr at the same time.. keep holding it)

OP needs to be in bootloader mode before you can unlock/relock.. flash google images.
Set up the ADB environment, plug the phone into your computer and do,
adb devices and fastboot devices.
Does it recognize your device? if it does try,
adb reboot bootloader
Your warranty may be the last chance you have aince you have not voided the warranty
So be careful of your decisions to try fix it yourself
Thanks for all the replies.
Bell gave me a trouble ticket which mean they will honored the warranty anyways... that's why i have the oppoturnity to try before sending it back.
i am willing to give some try on anything if you could suggest...
