I re-flashed a rom thru rom manager MIUI 1.2.25.1 invisiblek -28 I need to re-flash since I am getting crazy force closes and half of the apps show not installed...including rom manager and market. My problem is when I boot into recovery i am able to scroll the menus using the volume keys but my optical mouse is unable to make a selection. I think it may be due to the kernal.....HELP IM STUCK
Download on PC the item to flash, connect device to pc as a drive, put items to flash into a folder on SD you can get to in recovery, or create a new folder named something like AAstuff so it's at or near top of folder list on SD card.

I have a small problem i installed font installer from the market and now after uninstalling the keyboard is stuck on the font that was last installed by the app. I have gone through the root of my sd to find the apk from which the keyboard is installed and cannot for the life of me find it. I thought maybe if i could find it wiping cache and data on that apk would remove it. If there is anyone out there that may be able to help i would greatly appreciate it.
As seen in pic its only the keyboard. Also kote that swype keyboard and gingerbread keyboard are both the same as the system font for some reason its only this keyboard and that is it.

Flash your last back up from cwm?
Or try to install the app again and set it to the default font then uninstall it.
In the future use the built in flipfont.
Deebo took your bike too?
Hey there everyone. Here is the story in list format.
- Got first Galaxy S2 (Tmobile)
- after a few days rooted the phone using odin
- uninstalled bloatware via titanium back up pro
- installed a few apps(fb, twitter, swift key x, mobli, two different font changers)
- everything was running smoothly until i actually installed a font and the app prompted for a reboot.
- i reboot and the booting process freezes at the bootloader logo (tried countless times)
- i enter recovery mode to wipe phone.
- wipe phone.
- same issue.
- i thought then that the phone had some sort of issue in itself.
- i take the phone to tmobile a few days later and tell em some bs.
- get my new phone.
- root it again same way.
- uninstall all the bloatware i want gone and install all the apps i want.
- again SAME thing happens when i install this font changing program.
the program downloads previews for 146ish fonts. you select one. it actually downloads it and reassigns the default font with the font you download and after a reboot it should work.
except i get a frozen bootloader screen. so this time around i am convinced of the app somehow messing with the bootloader settings (etc...)
soooo...i decide to flash "SGH-T989 UVKID // Insecure // Root // Busybox" by bubby323.
odin says its successful, but still same freezing issue at bootloader.
help please.
Your problem is with the ROM. Boot into recovery, mount USB, put the ROM on your SD card and flash it from recovery.
Also, stop using that app

i do not have an external sd card, so is there any other method? i can always go and purchase one tomorrow. there is no way for me to put the file onto the internal sd memory because windows never recognizes the phone because it never boots up.
and trust me, i learned my lesson....never downloading that program again.

There are drivers posted in the dev section, be sure to try and download them again.
Your phone's "/sdcard/" location is actually an internal SD card. So when you use CWM to mount the sdcard, it will mount both the internal, and external SD card if it can. So you should still be able to do it.
as you said i was able to mount and copy over the rom, but after i copied over the rom file, it does not show on the android cwm file menu. maybe if i restart the phone?ill try it now.
still no go the rom file is not showing, the drivers have been installed. i reinstalled them JUST in case.
maybe i'm doing something.
- i mount usb storage
- copy over rom tar files
- unmount and look for it in the apply update from sd card and install zip from sd card selections but both show no files.
alright well after a few hours of trying a million different things...the only thing that worked was eaglesblood rom via cwm mount. thanks romanb for helping.

I did it several times but the problem still exist..thanks..
Maybe your SD card is messed up. That leads to problems with gallery and music apps sometimes. Connect your phone to your computer in disk drive mode, copy everything on the SD card to your computer, format your SD card to fat32 with 32KB cluster (if you use Windows, uncheck quick format and let it do the slow full format) , then copy everything back from your computer to the SD card. Delete the .thumbnails folder in DCIM.
Clear data of gallery again and see if the problem still happens.

i take no credit for this wonderful app, amarullz here on xda made it and I'm just posting it here for everyone in case u haven't noticed it yet, the original thread and file manager app can be found here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25911276
the way this works is you flash it as a zip like u would any other zip in rercovery but it launches a recovery app filemanager to allow making changes to files/folders without a working OS.
when u flash it, a pop up will appear, press the power button and follow the directions until the app launches.
on first launch, u need to tap menu then settings, and enable mount all partitions at startup. then exit the app.
restart aroma file manager and u should be good to go.
some may not use this, but others might need it. either way, enjoy!

Would this mount the said partitions to your computer?

I dunno honestly. I'm not near a PC to test it. but probably not as by mount, I mean for the app to see it. kind of how recovery mounts system, wipes it, flashes to it, then unmounts it. no mount, no access.

basically everytime i do a back up, it saves to the sd card. but i cant manage my backups because rom manager reads internal memory instead. is there a way to get rom manager to read the sd. i read somewhere you cant really change the default path of the gs3..
What version are you using?

One quick and easy thing you can try...
In Root Explorer you can link to folders and files. I dont know if other file explorers do this but heres how.
Long press on the folder you want to link to and select link to this...
Then browse to the internal sdcard and press done to complete the action.
Now in Rom Mgr you should be able to see and change to that folder.
Note that if you clear dalvik or data uou will have to reapply this.
Another way would be to use sn init.d script that creates the link every boot. But of course you must have a rom with init.d support.
Hope that helps you out.

i have the latest version of rom, and i downloaded root explorer but i didnt see the link option.
does cwm naturally back up to sd card? if so this brings me to another thing
i nandroid back up awhile back before i exchanged my phone for a new one (mura effect. got a good on btw) i put my sd card in and my back up wasnt there
so it seems my phone backs up where ever it wants haha...
When you long press on an item, Link to this Folder is the last option in the menu that pulls up.
Most apps by default save to sdcard, which happens to be what Samsung decided to call the Internal storage. I dont use Rom Manager anymore (I like Goo Manager/TWRP recovery better) but wasn't there an option to manually enter the path to the folder you want to use? Didn't think of that earlier. If so enter this (it is case sensitive):
/mnt/extSdCard/PathToYourFolder/
If not, look for that link option again. You have to scroll down the menu so it may be easy to miss.

When i first rooted my phone I was able to get aokp mr1 and google apps to the root of the internal sd card, but I dont remember how. Using android file transfer I am unable to put any files into the internal memory of the phone. It allows me to put into folders, but upon rebooting into recovery the file is not visible.
On a side note i just flashed cm10.2 by putting the .zip into the download folder, and flashing the custom rom using rom manager app on the phone without rebooting into recovery. I however dont like this because in recovery you can delete all user data and such. When flashing it directly through the app you dont have that option.
My question is how do I add files to the root of the internal sd card using a Mac. Also how can i delete the older roms of the internal sd card.
I've been using the search and google for the past hour and kind find specifically what I need. Everything i've seen is for PC.
ADB

Make sure you're using latest recovery version.

There's an app from Google you install on your Mac... called Android File Transfer, let's you do exactly what you want, drag and drop.

Ooohhhhhhh.....
Use adb, yes, and root explorer or the like to find the ROMs already there.
I usually use Android File Transfer just fine, though, it's under 0 in recovery.

Thanks for all the replies. I gave up with android file transfer since it wont let you drag and drop to anything but a folder which wont work.... I'm using rom manager for my boot into recovery. I ended up using an app called FTP server on the phone, and a software called Transmit on the Mac, that allowed me to drag and drop into the actual sd card instead of a folder. I rebooted into recovery and was able to flash the rom from there.
Glad you figured it out... But If you drag to just the right spot, it won't make you put it in a folder, I managed to get several ROMs and APKs on the root of sdcard0.

Where do you drag it? I couldnt get it to drop anywhere.
on a side note do I have to do an image captcha for every post I make
The CAPCHA's are courtesy of your new membership, eventually they'll go away, I think it's after... 10 posts? Don't quote me.
Here's a screenshot, drag to where the yellow is, if you put it over other FILES in the root, it'll go in the root, too. If you drag it over FOLDERS, it'll go in a folder you hovered over.

Ok thanks, the screenshot isn't working for me but I will check to see if that your technique works for me. What rom are you running? I got aokp milestone 2, I like it but my battery life really sucks. I dunno if its related to the rom or not, because I know the nexus doesnt have a very good battery to begin with.
Yeah the site is and will be down for... I'd say another 10 hours from this post... I was hoping you'd see it before maintainence.
I just got a fresh (new) OEM 2100mAh extended battery, world of difference, it's better than most phones' battery lives.
I'm on CM10.2, and I usually don't have to charge every day, rather every other with low-moderate usage.
People ***** day and night about this ROM's battery life and this kernel's "vast improvement".... Whatever, none of that **** worked out for me (okay, maybe I got 5 more minutes out of my battery), the extended battery did.
