i tried rooting my htc desire today.i completed all the steps and everything went smooth until the flashing step.the phone froze on the htc logo.it won't apply the update.zip on the memory card.please tell me what can i do to fix it.how can i reflash it?

I've recently rooted (unrevoked) and flashed my HTC Desire with Cynogen 6.1.
This worked for the first couple of days until my phone suddenly turned off. Now I cannot get it to boot past the white HTC bootscreen, unless I flash it again with a custom rom (tried Cynogen again, OpenDesire and Miui) with a complete factory reset. Then it will boot once into Android, but after a reboot the same problem occurs.
I've been reading numerous topics on this and similar problems and it seems I have to unroot my phone. Is this correct? On some sites there are warnings you should not root/unroot with a certain hboot version. Is this still the case?; because the unrevoked method states that it rootes no matter what the hboot version is.
So I'm planning to go back to stock now by following the unlocker.com unroot tutorial and flashing a htc europe stock rom (I have the HTC Desire from T-Mobile Dutch).
I'm posting this topic to double check, because I do not want to brick my phone completely

You are right, just flash a stock rom and start rooting again. It doesn't matter anymore which boot version you are using. You have a go

It's possible, you could also try a different SD card. Maybe that is also causing the problems, but unroot first and if that doens't solve it, try switching your sd card. Make sure you use at least a class 4.

Have you just flashed a new rom? If yes flash again. If you just flash a new mod, flash again. In other words, redo what you just did.
i falsh this file Bravo_WWE_2.29.405.5_initd.zip it didnt work. and i tried this PB99IMG.zip one too. i tried using the stock RUU exe file that runs only on windows. still nothing, it wont recognize the htc desire.

What actually happened is that i revoked my htc desire. and install rom manager then i downloaded cyanogenmod 7. after 2 days i downgraded to cyanogenmod 6 it automaticaly restart and went to the cyanogenmod boot logo then it wont pass by to load. then when i saw the hboot the security is turned on.
is there any possible way to flash a new rom?

After a full wipe, my phone got stuck in the bootscreen (the gingervillain screen that was) I tried solving the problem by installing the latest LeeDroid ROM. After I installed that rom I'm still having the same problem, the phone's now stuck in the white/green HTC bootscreen for over 25 mins.
Anyone with a solution to this problem?
I found out what the actual problem was, a little error in formatting the SD. I formatted the SD manually and made new partitions. Everything works fine now
Hello, I have the same problem, but I can reinstal leedroid2.4.1 and the htc work again, when I try to change the rom, it gets stuck. Can anybody help me?

I have revolutionary boot, and tried all recovery tricks on it. I think I wiped everything and when i try to re-install ruu it gives me a "battery low " error.
Try the ruu in my sig. Use the PB99IMG method.

I used the files in your Signature, but i wasn't able to install as the device said (bad files or corrupted). then i realized it might be my SD card so i
formatted it on a Samsung gio. finally i used CM10Evervolv_V1 which i got earlier and it worked :laugh:

I have a massive problem and I hope you can help me.
I rooted my HTC One X successfully and tried to flash custom roms on it which kind of worked. I put the zip folder on the internat sd card and flashed it without flashing the boot.img.
Finnaly I found out to do that, flashed the boot.img but while installing the ROM the problem code/status 7 appeared and I had to restart the phone in order to put the right rom onto the phone, which i had on my computer.
But while booting, the phone just got stuck in bootloop showing the HTC logo.
I already tried quite a lot of stuff to rescue my phone, for example to restore the nandroid backup - didnt work, flash another backup onto phone - still bootloop, flashed a new rom with boot.img - still bootloop.
The only solution i could find was to unroot the device and flash the stock rom onto it.
Is that really my last resort or is there another way?
