I need to retire my old Moto S305 set soon. What should I get? Or if there is a compelling reason to get a wired set with inline mic let me know. Whatever it may be it will need to handle sweat- I wear mine while working out. Thanks!

None of the stereo bluetooth headsets are going to be sweat proof. Some are sweat resistant though. If you're worried about sweat, you can get a 3.5mm bluetooth adapter for $25 to work with a 3.5mm headset designed for working out.
Yeah, perhaps I should have worded that differently. I doubt my S305s are rated as sweat proof or even sweat resistant but they have lasted a couple years. They still work but the plastic is starting to warp and I'm sick of the foam ear padding detaching as it's a pain to repack it in there.
So I want something that is as durable as they were. I don't mind buying a new set every couple years.
Do you have a link for that adapter? I'd like to take a look.

Jabra A120s: http://www.amazon.com/Jabra-A120s-Bluetooth-audio-adapter/dp/B000KVWNR2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
The foam padding occasionally pops off. Not too hard to repack. Just use a nail file or something similar to pop the ring just outside one of the speakers. The foam padding just wraps around it. Then snap the ring back into place. Takes like 5 mins or less.
Thanks for the advice on my headset. Works much better than repacking without removing the ring like I was attempting!
But your link....I don't think thats the correct adapter for the job. But I'm sure I can find the appropriate item if I decide to go that route.

If the padding comes off often, just superglue the padding to the ring. That's what I did to my Motorola S305 headphones.
are you guys running aosp or sense with your S305s? I've used a pair with my BT audio devices for awhile but i get skips when i'm not in line of sight (phone behind me in my cycling jersey) and i'm trying to see if anyone else has similar issues.
For the sweat resistant headset question, what about the moto S9HD? they're marketed as being sweat resistant i believe. Having used S305's i think you're already used to having the wraparound band behind your head. Only difference between the two is that one is a headphone and of course the S9HD are earphones.
I'm using Sense. When I'm working out I use cheap $10 headphones with a headphone jack.

I don't get this. Why would you buy a bluetooth adapter for a device that already has bluetooth built in??
Regardless, i have one of those adapters for my ipod and it works perfectly
I think he meant a Bluetooth receiver/adapter for regular headphones to plug into. That's why I questioned his link.

I use these at work. I haven't had any problems with them. The headset that comes with it is a little short, but it has a 3.5mm headset jack so any pair of wired headphones would work. It also has a built in FM tuner so you can listen to the radio too.

No it does not use bluetooth, we are talking about wired headsets.
RF3 and airtube
As a side note, has anyone ever tried the RF3 Airtube headsets? I think Life Blue Tube and ENVi are the two brands. They are supposed to reduce radiation, but I can't really find a review anywhere, to see if they actually work as headsets.
I have a pair of Apple hands free cord headset that I use to use with my DInc with no problems, but they won't work with the TBolt...people on the other end can't hear me. Somebody please help or recommend a good pair that does work. Thanks

I have a pair of sennheiser ie8i and klipsch 10xi, which the mic worked fine on my evo. now neither mic wants to work on the my thunderbolt. Does anybody know what they changed? The little icon comes on that shows the microphone but they don't work.
I got the same issue with my Monster Turbine with Control Talk. No mic, but they worked great on my Dinc.
Need to find something too, but leaning towards the Bose.
I have used the nexus s headset with no problem.

HTC in their infinite wisdom disabled the microphones if anything is plugged into the headphone jack, this is the first time they have done this. I hope a developer can pull the right code from another HTC phone to get this to work.

trying this... Hopefully work, love the sound of my monster turbines...
I had to use an old shure cable that has a built in mic and button to get it to work, strange thing is the connectors are exactly the same the only difference is my headphone have the extra volume button and the shure doesn't.
I just get cheap $10 earphones, cause im so ruff on them. I tend to tear them up alot or wash them in the washing machine sometime too
I just use a set of Ozone "noise cancelling" headphones with a Mic built in. I am not a fan of how it feels in my ear but the Mic works and is clear. Only thing is it seems flimsy and its 20 bucks at best buy.

My headphones don't like to stay in especially with the silicon case on. It drives me nuts when I have my car stereo hooked into jack and it gets bumped a little and all I hear is a pop and loud static. Had a similar problem with my Incredible 1.

Bought this and it's been working great. http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10218&cs_id=1021802&p_id=5577&seq=1&format=2
Fit's snuggly in the jack, even with my Otterbox case on.
I also have iBeats by Dr Dre and it fits quite well into my DInc 2.
My brother and I have similar problems with the audio jack. My headphones will fit in but if the cable wiggles I loose connection. The audio stops and I have to unplug and replug the them back in. It makes it so I can't have the phone in my pocket when listening to headphones. I have called Verizon and they said they were not aware of any known issues like this. They sent me a new phone to see if that resolved the problem. I am hoping we got some out of a bad batch...
This issue combined with the lack of root makes me want to sell the phone and get a X2.
No issues with mine either, I have been using it in the gym for the past two weeks and plug into the tape deck adapter in the work truck with no problems
So I called Verizon the other day to explain my problem with the headphones disconnecting after the cord wiggles a little. Their answer was to send me a replacement phone. I agreed and the next day the replacement arrived at my doorstep. Tested the headphone jack on the replacement device and got the same results. After calling Verizon back I waited on hold for an hour while they attempted to duplicate the problem on their end. Their solution was to use headphones without a "L" shapped bend in the connector. They offered to buy me a new pair of headphones so I agreed. I placed my order Amazon today and the Verizon tier 2 level tech will be calling me back Monday to take the charge off my bill. Figured this information may be handy to someone. Good luck!
I understand this is not a fix for a design flaw in the phone but its still a free pair of headphones.
I had the same problem with the lead in my car. I realized the jack was longer than the one on my headphones so I filed the tip off of it w/ a metal file. It seems to work better now.

I tested with a set of Blackberry "L" shaped headphones+mic and they were fine. I wiggled them and spun them and they never lost connection.

none if your going to be jogging or running or any hurried movement i wouldn't trust a wireless headset unless it was specially designed to basically bend completely round your ear.
a google search might help though.

On mine yes. I have tried 2 other headsets and this works well. If you mean voice dialing then mine can do that, although I think that is something that pertains to the phone itself....
Am using Logitech Wireless Headset for iPad
it's ok...
OK. I just got the Jabra Stone 2... it's perfect except for that it comes off way too easily... I don't have to do much...just walk, and it's already loose. Now I am looking to get something that stays on. Anyone know of a BT headset that has built-in voice command control, like this one, has good battery life, operates at a long range, make calls, has A2DP, and actually stays on (preferably when in a hurry or jogging)?
This is a very cool headset. It comes with a very small cradle you can carry around and it acts as a portable charger, with a battery built in, that can charge the headset 3 times...
Unless there is a piece you can buy to snap onto the headset to make the fit better...
I would also like to recommend the Nokia BH-03 headphones, I use them all the time on the running machine/cross country trainer. Battery lasts around a dozen hours between charging.
Don't bother with Nokia BH-01's they are identical, except for build quailty. The plastic band that wraps around your head tends to snap. My BH-03's are much sturdier and I can't see that happening

As somebody already stated, Sony Ericsson mw600. It's my way to go. Sound quality is really nice for a bluetooth headset, well built, volume is not so high but (as for the standard xperia play headphones) it's good in bass range. Not easy to find in-hears with such basses. Stock headphone isn't bad at all and fits fine for me, and anyway, you can change it with something you prefer. It also gives you a simple FM radio...which the Xperia Play lacks. Fast to recharge, battery lasts, unexpensive device, once paired...just works!
Perfect Xperia Play companion, in my opinion.

I got my set at Fry's for $50. I can see them being a problem with someone with a large head though, as the cord isn't very long. I also have experience with the Moto S10's which are also nice.
Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth. They are in-ear earbuds but you can simply unplug them and plug in any other headphone that have the 3.5mm plug turning them into Bluetooth. So you can take your favorite wired headphone and make them Bluetooth. I wear them everyday and they are only $40-$50 on Amazon.

I recently bought a pair of future sound lab zero headphones (also for use at the gym) and am quite satisfied with them. Very comfortable and great sound quality.
Only annoyance is the non-standard charging plug. Would've been better if they'd used a mini or micro usb port.

I've been using these for about 3 years without a problem. Paired with Poweramp's equaliser, you can really tune them to suit your taste and genre of music. They're also decent on battery, cheap, and eady to modify.
I bought a pair of Motorola S305 headphones, they are over the ear style, the band goes behind the neck, they charge with standard micro usb, the sound is decent, a little static in my ears on phone calls, but people say they can hear me better than on my phone alone. I've recommended them to my friends, and four of them bought them, all but one still loving them. The other sold them for inner ear bud style ones.
I'm still using mine, still loving them
Oh, and like $30 on newegg

I agreee for the money these are the way to go,,ebay.
Does anyone know if any 3 button earphones that wrap around the ear exist?
I have not had any luck finding any wired earphones that both have 3 buttons and wrap around the ear. I have never had any luck getting the normal earbud earphones to stay in my ear when running, so the around the ear feature is a must, but the best I have been able to find of those have only one button, making it hard to control both tracks and volume.

I figure that the extra weight from the batteries along with the hassle of having to remember to charge the batteries would make bluetooth headphones more of a hassle than wired ones.
it's 34grams. if your ears can't handle 34grams combined, then you are waay too sensitive imo.
and it's got 7 hrs of continuous use. I'd say it's a minor inconvenience for not having to deal with wires pulling on your earphones all the time.
EDIT: For perspective.... 34 grams is something like 9 sugar cubes... and that's distributed across 2 ears. so... you're looking at 17 grams on each ears.
