Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could help. My wifi works fine but i cant connect to mobile internet at all.
I have had my phone for quite a while now but havnt really had any need to use the internet while im out and about and have relied on wifi so I cant be sure if my mobile internet actually ever worked or not but when i try to connect i get the messages: turning on..connected...connection failed or the connection just vanishes instantly.
A bit about my phone:
Running RCMixHD 2.0
S-off and rooted
current baseband:32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 but have tried the latest radio with no change.
Network: Orange UK
I have spoken to orange and have set the APN to their recommended settings.
At a loss as to what to try next? any help really appreciated

Tried a few more radios still with no success...really no idea what else to try here guys, any ideas?
It could be the rom. I've it before where I've had the same radio and tried different roms. Some work, some don't. You could just reflash the rom you have without wiping anything.
I rung Orange when I lost my actual network signal and I had to ring them about 10 times just for someone to say that one of the masts was down in my city. Proper retards they are.
Indeed, orange arnt known for their brilliant customer service. I think 1 in 10 of the staff you speak to actually have a clue.
Anyways thanks for the reply, it was indeed the rom...thought it might have been but wanted to exhaust every other option first. All fixed nowthough, thanks again.

I don't know what happen to my desire, the mobile internet just did not work!
Wifi is still functioning.
But when I clicked the mobile internet check box, it keeped showing turning on, but could not link to the 3g network.
Could anyone give me any suggestion? Thx!

I use Vodafone NL.
Actually the 3G worked pretty good until today. So I assume this might be some hardware problem. Can anyone help me or I need to bring it back to HTC?
you can try resetting the apn settings
settings -> wireless and networks ->mobile networks -> apn
click menu and select to reset it
if that doesnt work open up the phone dialer
enter *#*#4636#*#*
turn the radio off
wait 20 seconds
turn the radio on again
post back

When this happens to me I find going to flight mode then back usually fixes it. Sometimes have to reset the phone though.

Hi Bilbo Fraggins - I'm on Orange UK and I've noticed the response and service on my Desire has slowed down over the last week or so. It was perfect up to then for the first month. I'm also having issues with mail synchronisation through Exchange Active Sync but thats another topic.
Whats the problem with Orange? IS it a temproary thing? I was thinkingof calling them but thought it was probably just my device. Cheers.
I've had no mobile data at all since Wednesday night.
My last call to them was yesterday and they said their GPRS network was down or something but should be back within a couple of days.....

I've had my Desire for nearly a month now and the internet has been consistently inconsistent the entire time.
I'm on Orange UK... is it likely to be my network or my device? I can usually depend on GPRS but 3G/HSDPA are flaky at best with the standard rom and no changes to stock settings even though I'm in central Manchester.
I had a similar experience and I am also on Orange UK. My connection kept dropping and I even had problems getting a normal phone signal. I ended up hard resetting my phone and its working great again. No problems all day. It was easy to do too. I think it must've been a program I installed.

Hi guys, I am not sure if anyone else has experienced this before, I have done a bit of searching.
If I connect my data connection (APN) at night it will work fine, if I disconnect it, go to bed, then wake in the morning and try to reconnect the APN , it will fail. The only solution is to turn on airplane mode, then disable it, then reconnect my data (APN).
I have updated to the latest (leaked) radio, hoping that this might have fixed the problem, but its still happening. It's been happening ever since I bought the phone, on stock ROM, and on every other ROM I have tried (2.1 and 2.2).
Has anyone else seen this? Is it related to my carrier (Optus)?
It just seems that it wont reconnect if it hasnt been used for 6+ hours...
Please Help
Does anyone else turn off their data connection at night? Does it re-connect if you do?

I am with tpg (optus network) and have the same problem as you have. Airplane mode seems to reset it. I tried playing with the apn settings but then l lost connectivity. Hmm, can't explain it.

Thanks for the reply, it's finally good to find out that it's not just me. Maybe someone else out there would be kind enough to test it on a different carrier, either in AUS or elsewhere, just to find out of it is an Optus issue, because I have never heard anyone else mention it before.
Please, can someone do this test??? That would be totally cool.

I rooted using unrEVOked 3.1 and am now running the ROM listed below in my signature on an A8183 (Telstra) model desire.
Since I turn the data off and on as I need it and since the ROM flash, haven't had a problem. So I don't know if it was OPTUS or the TELSTRA standard HTC ROM. Next time I use my Telstra SIM, I will test and tet you know.

Thanks mate, just to let you know I have tried a few roms and had no luck, until now. I think it was actually the latest radio (32.42.00.32U_5.09.00.08) update that has fixed it. Seems to be fine now.
I'm getting this same issue on mine, Telstra Desire on Optus. Maybe I should simply root it and be done with it? Only thing stopping me I'm worried I'll have radio issues after. Does 850 UMTS still work fine once you get rid of the Telstra rom? I'm on Optus now but have a Telstra sim for when I'm out in the middle of nowhere.

Gave in and installed the new radio and pays. That stupid Optus issue is gone as well now, connects properly as soon as wifi is gone. No problems with 850 Telstra either.

Im useing the acer liquid e and the same thing happens to me. wont connect after disconnecting it. the problem has actually advanced now it doesnt even show up when i turn it on. one thing worked for me im not sure about any other android phone. But i went to settings -wireless & networks -Mobile networks - Access Point Names and click reset to default option worked fine after this process. apn works fine even after dis and reconnecting to data connection I hope this helps you guys
Hello, i am new inn the forum and new with WP/ terminals.
I have now a HTC HD7 surround, i am from Argentina, and my cellphone company is Claro Argentina.
My HTC is free from factory (at&t) , so any SIM is running well, but i have a navigation problem:
I can´t browse the web with 3G, i can via WIFI, but not 3G.
I have a iPhone 4 2, and i can browse the web with that phone and same SIM.
I already added differents APN´s and downloaded the Connection Setup via Marketplace.
I reseted the phone 3 times
The problem still here.
when i try to use the IE, in the navigation bar, i type some address, and after less than 1 second i see this :

Hi sandrobber, I have a LG Optimus 7 and the same problem, the wifi and EDGE and Wifi works without problem, I've checked and my mobile operator uses 850UMTS band for 3G and the phone works with that band, I've set the correct APN but I still without 3G and EDGE really sucks!
I've check the post #150 in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=839154 but I can't find any place to use these codes in order to set up my 3G automatically, that codes works with my LG Phone? How can I enter those codes?
I will really appreciate your help.

I have the same problem too, and mostly on EDGE... I have to restart the phone to get it working again... Very frustrating if you tell me.

The thing is, I don't have 3G 2100 in the country I live in
I can only rely on EDGE, so activating/deactivating 3G is useless for me.
I didn't flash. Just upgraded to 7392 two weeks ago.
I'm looking for a way to completely reset the network stack (equivalent to a reset) in order to re-establish a fresh connection.
My old Nokia E63 with the same SIM card had no problem establishing data. The only problem was the sometimes, the connection was really slow to attach (something like 15 seconds). I therefore suspect that WP7 phones have a too stringent timeout problem, i.e. the phone gives up trying to establish a connection after a failed first attempt (the phone didn't wait long enough).
I am thinking of just reflashing only the radio rom from a stock o2 rom (I have o2 Germany)

Yeah you can try that. I have the gut feeling that it's firmware-dependant. If someone can try with the latest Samsung FW that's been posted recently... I'm a bit lazy to lose all my settings
hello everyone i have a htc desire android version 2.2.2 i am on pay as you go 3 all you can eat data every thing working ok untill about a week a go but now cant get connected to my internet i can get wi fi but when out of range 3 internet wont work instead of wi fi phoned three about this but to be honest they wernt much help so if anyone knows a way of sorting this it would be much appreciated many thanks

now about your problem...
I suppose that your phone does'nt connect to mobile network but u can connect to internet via WiFi. If your phone is not rooted (android v2.2.2) then you should ask this to your service provider and compell them to help with your problem.

I've just bought a new galaxy ace 2 and I am experiencing some problems.
When I'm using only gsm network type (i think, now I'm testing HDSPA), typically, when I'm logged on icq, mobile sometimes loosses signal and displays there is no service. After few seconds is everything OK and network is back at full singal. This can be seen also in battery usage view, when I'm having always yellow line with thin red places.
I'm now using it with mixed mode on HDSPA and there are no problems with network.
The phone is under warranty, so there is no problem, but I dont have much time and first I would try other solution. I tried to flash it with odin to same fw, but no change. I tried to google it but I didnt find any solution. Could you give me advice?

Well the "train" issue is due to the train being like a faraday cage, blocking the various microwave signals, the reason you get a signal on a train is because they have amplifiers to retransmit the signal into the train and vice versa.
