The only thing you use Odin for is full .tar files which are usually ROMs and modems. You put on sd card and flash. Also I am guessing your phone was sponged not bricked.
when you had fc on EF02 it was prob just a bad flash....

My GPS stops working after a while. It indicates locked on in the status bar but it never works. I'm on Bonsai B13 with EEO3 modem.
What does this EEO3 GPS fix do? Not sure if I should try this or just flash EFO2 modem.

Neither...the GPS issue is in the leak ROM itself and won't be fixed until source code is available no matter what modem you are on. The best thing to do if your GPS works sometimes is to reboot daily to clean out bad GPS data. I am not sure what the ACS-EE03GPSfix does but doesn't hurt to try it.
Hello all,
Just wondering if anyone has had the same issue as me with EI22... I have had it twice now and eventually the 2g just goes away, wont connect and then i lose the signal completely... I have odined back to EC05 and it works good. I just upgraded to ACS ICS 5.5 from v2 of ACS.. I have noticed that signal seems weaker with EC05, wanted to go back to EI22 but didnt want to encounter the same issue...
anyone else have this? any ideas or help?
Thanks!

try installing a different kernel, than update your "prl" and "profile"... then reboot your phone. see what happens. a really good kernel that i recommend is the shadowkernel

or why it even happens.

im on samuri_gen 1.2 kernel now.. i thought that was a good one...
well it's suppose to be, but if your having problems with signal and speed, perhaps for kicks or trial and error, you should try a different kernel, just to see what happens. maybe better results, maybe not. only one way to find out.
I'm certain signal has nothing to do with the kernel try flashing other modems on ei22. I that sometimes others phones like other versions of modems ec05 and ei22 and not he only ones. Just the official "stable" but other are still usable. As for speed yes the kernel has to do with. Also try going back to ec05 not updating to ei22 but rooting and flashing a ei22 rom and flash the delta zip modemEc05toEi22.zip

If their phone wasn't rooted yet how did you get clockworkmod on? Odin? You can't flash with stock recovery.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
no, their phone is not rooted "yet", but i booted into "stock" recovery and just hit install update zip. oohh, i think i know what happened. i didn't click on the file name and rename it to update.zip... thats why it probably failed. wow, how did i miss that.

You cannot do that. Only Samsung or Sprint signed zips can be done as an update.zip. So it would have to be renamed and ssigned or it will fail. He needs to root first and that is easy on EC05.

It is a delta script bulit to change your modem to the ei22 since there is not an official tar for ei22 modems. And it could help you because I know some people have issues with signal when they update rather than take the path of just flashing an ei22 rom and updating there modem thru the modem.zip and ill upload you it in a minute.

The only way to get the ei22 modem is to either accept the ota update to ei22 gb or to root and flash the ec05toei22.zip on a rooted phone... I think I still have the delta file somewhere I will post here when I find it...

If this doesn't help id suggest flashing a different modem.... like eh17,eg22,ef02, etc etc.... each works differently for everyones phone and location.

this will answer the question. (and to kennyglass), the method he used, is what i did.

I haven't had any reboots that I've noticed. Even on EI22 I only got a few lockups or reboots, and it always seemed it happened when I was downloading data and tried to switch networks (usually 3G to WiFi).

My 4G works great too. In Daytona, we had 4G a week after the Epic release. They have expanded the coverage in the area as well. No reboots at all since the source kernel was released.

Flash the modems. In my opinion FC15 is the nest I've used so far. But it all depends on where you live. Just try flashing a bunch of different modems and see what works. Obviously the one your on now doesn't.
Sent from my iPhone killer.
I've seen that few times from FC07 but it never happens again from current FC15.
If you want to try, wipe all and apply Calk's format all then flash the rom & modem.
I think it would solve your problem. Let me know again, thanks.
Or just simply try FC15 modem and see how it goes...

I was wrong. I tested out with modem.bin file (FC14). Nothing changed and my modem is still FC15.
its a refurbished phone that i got like 2-3 weeks ago... but at first it was working great! should i go back to gb to test out if its the phone?
I thought this phone was on 2.3, but it was on 2.1 (or 2.2) DI18. I updated CWM to 5.0.2.7 and then flashed CleanGB MTD.
When I reboot, I cannot get service, and airplane mode switches really fast between on and off.
I believe it may be the modem, so I am trying to upgrade the modem from DI18 to EC05 so I can update to EL30. However, the current DI18 to ECO5 flashable zip I have is giving me an error (Status 7).
Aside from from the modem, any other thoughts on how to fix it?
Thanks.

You can just flash a modem through odin . I think the newest official tar is el30 so here it is : EL30 Modem.tar place this in the PDA box in odin make sure nothing but auto-reboot is checked and hit start. Make sure you have a trusty cable and not a stock one. You could also need to update your prl as well as your profile so do that wait a minute or so and reboot the phone. You can do this in the about phone section where it says updates or something similar.. i dont know cuz im on cm9
It could also be a bad download of CleanGb so you can always try redownloading and reflashing that.

I would say coming from Eclair, he might want to stick to official 2.3 Touchwiz for awhile rather than go to AOSP ROMs.
Hm
No matter what you choose to flash, I would of Odin'd the latest Official Tar, and then done a profile update, prl update, etc. THEN Flash the rom/poison of your choice. IF you do end up going to whatever MTD rom, there's an EL30 SD Temp flashable build on Epic CM9 Blog that can let you update your profile on MTD Roms that support kexec, which I think most, if not all, do by now. That way you can update your profile, prl, etc without having to Odin back. Glad to hear that a modem update fixed it!
