I odined back to DI18 stock. I'm going to wait for the OTA. What should I do if I get it and no one has posted the update? I'd like to know in case I get it early and I can help out the community.

How though? I was planning on posting it, but I have no idea what the steps would be to do that...

This link below should get you started; I have 'unrooted' my EVO a couple times. Of course, there's a ton of other links/posts if you search this forum.

Normally I defend newer people, but you never asked a question in your post, and you posted it in the development section.

I dont know if you realized but you wrote the sentence as if you were making a comment and not interpreting it as a question about how to go from 2.2 to Stock 2.1.
Also you posted in the wrong forum. This forum is about Development only and you posted a question. You seem to not have realized that and it is fine Don't expect to get hugs and kisses from your comment when you initially did not read clearly about where to post questions. If you are still confused then maybe you this community is not the place you should be at and you should not modify your phone.
First of all... AWESOME!
There should be a thread on this! Or numerous ones! If there was only a way to find them without looking through every thread manually....

[Q] eb13 question?

before you say this is suppose to go in the "general" area or the "question and answer forum please just read...i figure i could get some attention by posting it here...now since the eb13 froyo is out but has know issues are we to revert back to dk28? and are devs converting rom to fit the update eb13 or going back to making roms using the dk28? kinda need to know if i should go back to dk28?
well before this gets moved I will give you my noob response. I would guess since they have the source they will continue to make roms off eb13 because its better than dk28 other than it was erasing SD cards. So unless samsung drops a Brilliant code in a few days that has less bugs and the source why would it matter? I bet the next drop just fix's the SD card issues and sprint/samsung are done with us
yeah you right..did you ever have any problems with your sd card erasing? i never did
they are developing on eb13 now. why would we go back to dk28? its our official froyo so why wouldnt we. btw this is the wrong section.

I think most ROM makers are going to convert to EB13, but some will keep their DK28 downloads up for awhile. I know ACS is beta testing their new ROM (but then again, they weren't on DK28 to begin with.)
My personal suggestion is to go back to DK28 (or even DI18 which is what I'm still on) and wait for Sprint's OTA update that won't brick phones xD.
Glad you feel you're special enough to openly ignore the rules just to get some attention? Kinda lame...then again so am I for replying just to bust your balls...but I'm drunk so that'll be my excuse tomorrow

Considering its the official one, I think it'd only make sense. DK28 to my understanding was kind of a beta, for lack of better terms. EB13 from what I can tell is supposed to have a lot of issues addressed, so hopefully whatever issues are left can be patched by devs here and it'll be smooth sailing for all of us, since I highly doubt Samsung or Sprint are even considering giving us Gingerbread.

don't even need to wait for it to install successfully. Sometimes a "fail" is actually a success, so if you're having problems of it flashing successfully then you should check your app drawer.. its probably in there already.

yep probably my 4th time lol. Since t-mobile had their "sale" and i believe prices are dropping for the gs2 (target/walmart) expect a lot of new users with derp questions.. I do hope it dies down.
I should probably create a template so i can just c/p everything over and over.
OH WAIT that's what stickies are for.

LJ7 OTA killer

Seen this posted a lot (think i answered like four posts myself). For people on a stock-based rom receiving the update nag but do not want it, here is a zip i threw together to stop the nag for the update. Thats all it does is stops the popup for the system update. Will work on any tw based rom. Just flash in recovery. ENJOY
Why not just accept the update? Install fails signature check and then stops asking.

Seems to be the case with many others as well. Best case scenario, it still comes back. I dont care as i hate TW based roms and im on CM10 but i see this posted alot and always supply a modded build.prop. Just making it easier on people askin for a solution.

The magical search button and your firmware notification

Hey everyone,
I've noticed about 500 new posts a day saying, "I'm rooted and go an update notification. It's probably JB, should I take it?"
I'm here to help you out.
1. It's not JB. When it does come out you'll see people by the names of Freeza, zanderman, MrTimz, TEAMERA, clark44, etc get very excited and post about how awesome it is that JB is out. We'll be more than happy to at that time. Googling tech blogs and such will also help you stay on top of developing news of this nature.
2. If you have a custom recovery go ahead and accept. The installation will fail and everything will be fine upon reboot. If you have a stock recovery you can update but will probably lose root. Root again using normal methods.
3. The only JB out is leaked build that you would have to install normally.
4. Feel free to flash these builds to try them out and stop asking if you should. It's safe but ultimately your decision, not ours.
5. Stop posting in the dev section. Those of you who can't yet, it's for good reason, not to be mean. The only things you should post in the dev section are Roms, kernels and modifications to Android that you created.
6. If you aren't sure of something and don't want to sound silly, PM an experienced member. I've never had a question posed to me on here that I wasn't happy to help answer within my abilities.
7. Enjoy the place but please stop cluttering it up with the same question over and over. The search button will reveal that you probably weren't the first to ask your question. If you are, then kudos, feel free to post it in the Q & A section to be handled.
Thanks! Love ya guys!
