i have HTC Desire HD. There is settings for voice input but how can i operate or active my phone to run on voice commands?

HI Guys,
Please help me in getting my phone run on voice command.
All depends on what you mean, if you want to give it a command then hold down the search button till voice search comes up. This also allows you to give voice commands.
I'd change the topic title to something more meaningful, few people drop in on a "help" topic.
You'll get more hits that way - and advice
afaik, it doesnt actually run the phone via commands, but you can dictate emails etc

like if I want to give some voice command to google.com to search anything how I will do it?

I saw my mate using google search engine by hi voice he speaks on google search engine didn't type. I want to know how can I do it?

Not that man if hold the search button it will ask you copy and paste. But if you hold the key of EN it will ask you to speak that's all.

First of all, excuse my poor english. I've installed the voice search and a new keyboard. That works ok, but when I hold the search button, that's enable a Google research, and not call my contact. For exemple, if I hold the serach button and I say "Call John", the Desire shows me Google results of this phrase, not call john. Whats the problem?
Well which version are you on 2.1 or 2.2, because i think that feature of call john is only available in 2.2
And i guess it also depends on in which application you are in if call john makes a google search or a phone call.

thats cuz the one on the keybord in froyo is google voice input not google voice search lol eclair only has voice search

Yes you can make a phone call using voice search. You need to do in the dialer application. Press and hold the search function. When the voice prompt appears , then all you have to say is "call john mobile " and it will dial john on his mobile. It's working on my stock ROM Desire

Wrong, you can voice dial on 2.1 (Sense/Senseless) ROMs if you install voice search.
I use an application called TopVoiceControl that does the dialing for me. With it you can start applications, enable/disable wifi, bluetooth and gps.
I'm with stock 2.1 ROM and installed VoiceSearch apk.

It seems a good app, but the Desire don't have a green button. Then, for start the app, You need to make more than one click (I think those...)

It seems that this app is disappeared from the market... I got a "not found" error.
Anyone knows where can I download it?
On my Epic Touch and my mom's Epic when someone calls and we flick the piece to answer it the phone then announces the caller (whose name or number had already been listed on the screen) and then demands we press One to answer. This is annoying for me and confusing for mom, but I can't figure out how to make the phone simply answer the first time we authorize it. Can anyone help me with this? Stock but rooted 2.3.6 on my Touch and unrooted 2.3.5 on mom's Epic.
Update: Apparently it's Google Voice and I can change it in settings. I did search for a solution before posting but didn't find it till now. Moderator please feel free to delete this thread.
Change the [Q] to [solved]. It helps when other people have this problem for reference.

Edit then hit go advanced. Change the title. People frequently ask about Google voice and the call screening.
Any1 having problems with voice commands?
I have phone set to Italian, and voice dictation is working great, but voice commands go completely nuts... For example, I try with both "call marco" and "chiama marco" but all I get is a list of options which are completely wrong.

Voice commands are English only AFAIK. They don't work for most(all?) other languages.
It should recognize the right words though, but it won't initiate a phone call.

It will initiate phone calls lol. Just say "Call <contact name>" and it'll start dialing.

I am on the latest OTA, stock and rooted. I have done nothing particularly odd lately, but I have noticed that Google Voice Input gives the error message "Cannot reach Google at the moment" when I attempt voice input on Messaging and Email, but it appears to work just fine on Tapatalk. Any idea where I should start looking for a solution?

I wasnt referring to voice commands, I was referring to voice typing.

I'm sorry I have to start this thread. I am new at all of this and new to the forum, so I am not allowed to post it in the thread for Skydragon... so, here we go.
I flashed skydragon on my T-mobile Lg G3... i LOVE IT.
Somehow I have google now launcher as an option, I use it on my nexus 5 and really loved the phone call feature where when you search for a location, it gives me the phone number. I thought I would use it but the phone call feature isn't there. It uses the LG phone / calling method.
I tried to uninstall google now launcher to reinstall it to see if it would work. I can't delete.
any ideas for how to get this feature on my phone?

Im not sure what you mean by lg calling feature. When i search for a business it will give the option to call, directions or website. And when i click call it takes me to the dialer and i have to press the call button. What did your nexus 5 do?

I tried this and it worked!!!!! SO SWEET!!!!!!
BTW, what it does is straight from the dialer. I can hit the phone button and enter a contact or a business and get the number for the contact or local places... straight from the dialer, not from a google now search. it seems pretty nominal but if you have it it's pretty awesome.
Ohhhhh ive never seen that, pretty cool
