[Q] ADW ROM instead of sense UI - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Looking for a ROM that is made from the ADW launcher, as in instead of HTC sense UI it would just be ADW launcher but with out the hassle of running 2 UI's. Hope this isnt a double posted question, sorry in advance if it is.

Look for anything aosp or senseless.

Or just use a desensitize script on your favorite sense rom.

Miui launcher in a senseRom

Is there any way to install miui launcher to a sense rom..that would be the ultimate..miui home launcher is the most stable n fastest that I have seen..zeam launcher is pretty close to it..adw,launcherpro or golauncherEx has the most customizing settings..what launcher do u guys mostly use

You could prob try taking it from the rom, the zip file unless it doesnt want to install. Personally, I use ADWLauncherEx.

Which launcher do you use??

Well I made a similar thread in the mini pro a few months back and it was pretty sweet so I decided to start one here so I'll start!
I use zeam launcher basically because its light and fast and it has the features that I like
Now its your turn

Device: HTC G2
Rom: MexDroidMod PreGhostChilli
Kernel: Tiamat v1.2.1
Gingerbread 2.3.4
These days, Go Launcher, its free, its skinable, and also has a bunch of free widgests (for me, a sense-like calendar, and a messaging widget).
lol stock rosie launcher on sense 3.0
LauncherPro Plus. I just switched my wife's G2 to LPP because the default ADW in CM7 is laggy as hell.
Go Launcher, I love the sphere effect.
ADW EX i like all the customizations

+1 for ADW EX.
I'm using the stock MIUI launcher since I'm on an MIUI ROM. Also, how much smoother is ADW EX than the free ADW, because my experience with ADW has always been an awful slow lag-fest.
dxTop Pro, mostly because it was Amazon's free app of the day a few days ago.
i normally used go launcher, but it seems to be getting awefully bloated lately. i just tried launcher7 for the hell of it and im amazed, cool interface once you get used to it. and fassssst. giver a shot..its free..

Launcher Pro Plus, its the fastest (not most stable) launcher in my opinion.
I'm running CM7 and the default ADW is really laggy..
Launcher Pro Plus:
Zippy, and I like their widgets.
I was using adw since it is the launcher for cm7 but I tried go launcher ex and I love it! It's very fast with no lag at all. Tons of customization is available and I use android pro Widgets or apw in the market. Sense like Widgets. I highly recommend go launcher ex. It's free so it's worth a try. I think it's the best of the bunch. Just my two cents.
LauncherPro. It isn't really customized. I just have the Gingerbread dock to give my phone a pretty stock look. I tried the actual GB launcher and it was really slow doing screen transitions. So with LP, I have the look and all the quickness I need. I've also tried Zeam and Go and they weren't bad at all.
Hey if you guys want you. Can upload some screenshots

Lol like the look. Is that windows seven launcher?

[Q] Sense vs AOSP

Why is it that AOSP only has 5 home screens and Sense has 7?
Depends on the launcher. You can always add or subtract with adw and salvage mod and miui are changeable as well. I use one screen on adw

I've always found ADW to be the best of all options. Way better than stock and Sense.

MIUI has as many screens as you want
The original aosp launcher has five and can't add anymore reason being I think they don't want the phone to get bogged down to much
sent from my HTC evolution running a freshly baked gingerbread with the 4gs in it
I've been using Go Launcher Ex and its far smoother then ADW IMO. You can add as many home screens as you want but I stick to 3

Turn off sense?

I'm getting really tired of HTC Sense, and I don't really want to mess around with launchers at the moment. I'm wanting to basically disable Sense and revert it to the basic android look. Anyone know if this is possible on and unrooted Evo 4G running 2.3.3? And if not, is there a really good launcher that will imitate that look?
well to start, if you "turn off" sense you will need a launcher. Launcher 2 would look the most like what i think you are looking for. just remove all widgets from homescreens on sense and select that launcher as the default.
or
you could flash one of these
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092221
they have most of sense removed.
or
try an aosp rom
I second Launcher2. I was never a fan of the bloatware we know as sense.

I tried looking up Launcher 2 in the market, but i couldnt find it.
Yea me too. Try Gingerbread Launcher free or Android 2.3 Launcher (Home).
Alternatives are ADW, Go Launcher and Launcher Pro. There are also themes for the launchers to customize them further.
The following are themes to make the launchers look more like stock gingerbread
ADW - here or here
Go Launcher - only found 1 theme but had bad reviews
Launcher Pro - here
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
I'd recommend Launcher Pro, there are tons of free themes for it and you can customize almost everything. Both Launcher Pro and ADW are both good, I would try both (they are free in the market) and see which one you like better. I used sense exclusively until I found Launcher Pro, I preferred it over ADW. If you want to completely get rid of sense, then the only option is to root and check out the senseless ROMs that are posted in the development section, or the AOSP ROMs.
Edit: I didn't fully read the post lol

What is your favourite Launcher?

Just thought I'd ask what your favourite Launcher is and why. Been playing around with different Launchers over the last few days and I've found that Nemus Launcher is the best one due to 4.5mb RAM usage!
I always used launcher pro because it runs really smooth. After switching to ICS i am now using the stock launcher.
Even without updates launcher pro is working with ICS but you can't use the calender widget. LP will crash immediately.
Nice! I'm still using Sebs sense 3.5 ROM. ICS is too buggy for me to use as a daily driver. Nemus Launcher is very light on resources and therefore more free RAM compared to sense
Stock / Launcher Pro.

This one contains a poll + I'm not looking for a new Launcher. I'm just asking you guys which one you use and why
I use ADW.... love it

Launcher Pro even though I'm not very satisfied with it. It runs really smooth but has some bugs and crashes sometimes. When CM9 is out I'll probably use Trebuchet.
I like the Go Launcher. It has some nice customizable options, and I found a real nice theme to go along with it.
Definitely Go Launcher Ex. Lots of options to play with, and very theme-able.
ADW with ADW.ICS Sqrd Theme ... I love it !!!!!
I loved ADW but now I'm using stock ICS launcher.

I use the market ICS Launcher.
Only google's default ICS Launcher works better. They make it possible to put more than one app in every launcher button.

zeam launcher: minimal launcher
In my opinion Go Launcher uses far too much RAM - 37mb! And I don't like Launcher pro, too basic in my opinion
LauncherPro, the fatest!

just recently changed from launcher pro to go launcher ex, really liking the look and feel up to now.
Go Launcher is probably my fav, it is a bit heavy on resources but great customisation and lots of lovely usability features
I use go launcher. Most customizable
