I am running stock 2.2.1 DK28 Froyo Samsung Epic 4g and am trying to get to LBSTESTMODE to configure the gps settings. I have tried to make shortcuts through the activities of ADW Launcher, Launcher Pro, and Any Cut but LBSTESTMODE doesn't show up. I have also tried to use the dialer to type in both the eclair code (*#*#1472365#*#*) and the froyo code (*#*#3214789650#*#*). Is there someother way I could o about this? (Maybe if someone has a custom shortcut file to Launcher Pro or Any Cut?)
I do not want to root (I have already unrooted back to stock) just for GPS purposes.
I don't know the specific dialer code for GPS settings. I usually type *#147852#
I call it the master menu. Maybe give that a shot?

Hello all. I'm currently running CRC 10.4 rom and I love the huge task manager option (the drop down thing in the upper right corner on the today screen) but I haven't been able to find it as a cab. I also love the 3G dialer on the S64 rom but can't put it on crc10.4 b/c the crc dialer is cooked into the rom. I've found a nice 3G kaiser dialer but it just boogers up my dialer when I install it.
Can anyone recommend a rom / dialer / cab combo to me? I was thinking about using PDACornerPro.V12 and adding what I want to it, but I don't even know if that will work. I'm at the point where I would rather choose everything that goes into my rom, and spending some time on it vs. trying to cram in everything I can.
Thanks
you can get the latest task manager here:

regarding the dialer: make sure you have netcf installed as well as some certs if you use schens dialer.
it also might be that you have to enable or disable the phone skin (use schaps advanced config for tweaking this)
Ok I disabled the phone skin, installed the 3G kaiser dialer, but now the smart dialing box (with the ugly scrollbars) is boogering up the look. I want it off of there. I installed the 3G dialer on my buddies phone and it works right. How do I turn off the smart dialer?
Figured it out. There is a registry key in HKLM\Software\HTC\PHONE.. something like "EnableSmartDialb". Set it to 1.
you coulod also do it via the phone's menu (smart dialing options).
Hello guys
the problem with impossibility change stock ICS dialer by another one from third party is driving me crazy... I tried everything including factory reset and complete wipe. Always the bloody stock dialer come up when use any dialer from the market. Even if I swipped launcher and phone icon on home screen. Third party dialer itself works OK, but when dialing I always getting stock ICS dialer!!
Kinldy ask all for help how to disable stock ICS original dialer that I hate!
Thanks indeed
Ciao
Go to settings for the phone.apk and clear defaults.
I did it, but when dialing form eXdialer, always stock comes up..., I rebooted phone after change, but still in troubless...
any clue?
If you mean the actual dialing (call active), you can't change that. Dialler is the app used to find the number, and the call itself is done through the stock dialer.
Swyped on my CM9 Galaxy Nexus
I recently found the answer in another thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1388274

How can I change the default dialler for SGN so I can use Dialer one or Go Contact EX? it wont come up with the action request pop up.

The OP answered it himself, and did so by updating the #1 post, so it might not have looked like the answer...
The phone icon in the launcher is actually a direct link to the phone app so you just have to replace that with your own chosen dialler app! in 2.x it was a link to the default phone app but in ICS it is different.

Click to collapse
So, just drag the phone icon off the bottom area and drag the alternate dialer you want to use down there.
Thanks guys for help.
To make it short, the main problem with dialer is that no possibility of SPEED DIAL. This has been solved by using shortcuts on second home screen for frequent calls. The key problem is impossibility to see right below the contact also a company. Actually I register roughly 1.400 contacts in the phone and not always sure about which caller belongs to what company once I get ring up. So I see only the name and not sure about company that the guy comes from.
Maybe some solution is already existing, so I would really apreciate it from you

I have a n7105T (the Telstra telecom 4G model)
They have done something to limit the touchwiz home screen, so that I cant add, subtract or alter the Dock icons at all
I cant add more or take any away..
I was wondering if there is a config file somewhere I can edit to change the dock Icons?
It would be better If I could add folders but just changing which icons I have there would be enough.
also I'm not rooted and prefer not to root at this stage.
Things tried:
Long press
Edit
go to app drawer and choose edit
Long press an app in app drawer (this shows the home screen but HIDES the dock!)
Has any one been able to locate the native Accounts/Internet Call settings?
On my old KitKat phone was under Phone Dialer / Call settings.
Is it removed or just my G4 (H815TR Turkey)
I am trying to locate that as well on my LG-H811 (T-Mobile LG G4). I know I can set up SIP on my Xperia Z Ultra Gpe that is running on Lollipop 5.1.1. Maybe T-Mobile or LG block the feature?
Hidden Menus
I was able to successfully bring up several hidden menus on my AT&T G4 H810 by using my 3rd party launcher;
Long press homescreen to bring menu, here we are looking add a shortcut to the homescreen.
Click on shortcuts which will give us a list at the top will be Activities.
Click activites now we are given a long list of apps and services that we can add as a shortcut to the homescreen, lots of hidden menus and service menus and test menus.
This beats trying to find the correct codes for the dialer app, it was fun to mess with this stuff.
Warning: Open and use hidden Service menus at your own risk. Don't go messing with stuff that you are not too familiar with, within the hidden menus you could really screw something up.
I guess Ive been on mostly basic stock phones, with Android One.
Im struggling to figure out how to create a shortcut on the home screen.
5 essentials for me are,
wifi
apps
settings
battery and
download.
for the life of me I cant figure out how to create shortcuts.
When I tried to create something from my prefered file manager, it never showed up on any of the screens...
..
help?
