im planning on buying myself a 16gb sd card class 10
im using SupeROM HD v2.0 D2WE
i was just wondering if buying that class 10 sd card will make my phone faster?
it shut because the reading an writing to sd card is faster
It should be faster but generally, people on here have been having better performances with class 6.
thanks guys

Hey, I just wanted to ask:
Does having a Class 8 8GB perform better than a Class 4 8GB uSD in App2SD+ or/and even video playing mkv/avi files from your SD card ?
Please advice. Thanks
Desire phone o_o rooted
Not really, the class of an sd card dictates the write speed not the read speed, that remains pretty consistant between card classes

Alright, thank you =]
currently running a class 2, and i do notice alot of lag when copy and saving stuff so wanna upgrade, thinking of getting this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingmax-mic...1AIC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1299847078&sr=8-3
yea yea, i know if t "kingmax" so it will either be crap or amazing (more likely crap)
but my question is, is it worth getting a class 10, would the htc support it, and would it be able to make use of it?
thanks in advance
I have a "generic" 32GB class 10 OEM by a local company here in Malaysia, and I must say it is noticeably quicker than my previous class 4 16GB card when used in the phone (a2sd). Transferring files using the laptop on the other hand is wayyyy faster...
Whether its worth the money over a class 6 equivalent i can't say.
Regarding "Kingmax", I have a usb flash disk of theirs and its blazing fast Lets hope they are consistent.
I use a decent Samsung 8Gb class six and I get a 10-11Mbps transfer rate, which is more than enough for me. I got the card for something like £12. My old class four used to peak at about ~6Mbs if I remember rightly.
I have a class 10 kingmax and it's working great,i'm running data2sd on it and no issues at all. But i recall i heard some ppl had some lag issues with class 10 cards (not kingmax in particular). As for kingmax specifically it's guaranteed u'll get 10 Mb/s write speed.

Mine is a kingstone 16GB class 10 and it rocks !
I have a Kingmax 16GB Class 10 and I get above 10MB/s for both writing and reading when testing using SD Card Speed Test. However, the rom and kernel on your HTC does make a difference, I think, on whether your Desire can fully utilise the Class 10. I don't think it would be worth it to use a Class 10 over a Class 6 if you're using a stock rom, but if you're using a rom with data2ext or data2sd, that uses the SD card extensively, then it'd probably make a difference.
hello guys.
I have a memory card(Adata microSDhc 8gb class6) and I want to replace the old one(samsung microSDhc 8gb class2), because I think the new one is faster, am I right?.. and I want to know what steps need to follow to replace him or simply hand him the old with the new one??
The class 6 card should be faster, although bear in mind that the speed rating is a minimum so a quality class 2 card could be faster than a shoddy class 6 card. As for replacing it mount your SD card to your pc copy everything to the pc, install your new sd and transfer everything back, job done.
I understand, thanks. but I'd like to say your opinion if it's worth to make this change ?
for me no, samsung cards may not be the top of the line but they are good enough.
and the fact that it's only 8GB, getting a faster class cards will be worth it if you're getting those higher capacity cards 16gb / 32 gb.
ok thanks. remain with the old one ,and I will change when I'll buy a card of 16gb or 32gb. but are so expensive in our country :-<

Personally if you've got the card there I'd give it a go download SD-tools and benchmark both cards and keep the faster one, I find that faster cards do improve life sometimes with faster gallery load times and less likelihood of stuttering when recording HD video.
Actually i too had an 8 gb class 2 and i upgraded to 8 gb class 6. The problem with class 2 is that videos recorded at 720p start lagging when you play them with a class 2 card. I had this problem with the new sd card i got with my dhd. it was a class 2 and videos at 720p would lag like crazy. Got a new class 6 and the problem just disappeared.
Hey guys, I'm currently using a class 2 sd card with data2sd. My phone lags like hell because all the apps are stored in the sd card partition. I was planing to buy a class 6 card. Would that stop the lagging that is happening now? or should I go and get a even higher class?
Class 2 is way too slow for data2sd. Actually its even slow for link2sd.
Data2sd requires minimum class 6 card for average performance.
There isn't much price gap between a class 6 and a class 10 card.
If I was you, I'd go for a class 10 card even if it costs a little more. That'd be worth it.
i have a kingston class 10 sd card but i feel it is not really a genuine class 10 card.. my speed on sd card tester(on market) is only 1.8mb/s write speed and 10.03mb/s read speed
my question is if i buy a true genuine sandisk micro sd class 10 card.. will it speed up my applications using int2ext/m2sd or any a2sd scripts? actually what is the speed of the internal memory of the htc desire?

I have a kingston class 10 card too. Mine writing speed is 11.6 MB/s and reading is 18.1 MB/s (measured with sd-tool app). I was using InsertCoin 1.1.4(a2sd) rom with class 4 card, after upgrading the sd card to class 10, it really improved the performance.
ok mine must be fake then! will buy a sandisk one from ebay(anyone has a good experience buying microsd on ebay.. everyone seems to say they are all fake... even the trusted buyers sell fake ones?)
AFAIK Desire supports only Class 6, so your Class 10 SD will work as 6.
You will achieve Class 10 speeds only copying with USB from PC for example.

I doubt you'd get class 10 even through the USB.
Best way to check SD card speeds is to put it in a card reader and into laptop or PC.
Checking through the HTC desire is useless as speeds can vary.
I've just tested twice with sdcard tester and got 10mbps and 3.7mbps

Yes you get full speed thru usb as it's not using Desire onboard sd controller...
If you're not getting full speed it might be ROM issue for example.
