Hi everyone, I ended up calling T-Mobile about my G2 because the LCD flickers when the brightness is turned down (I've seen other posts about this so I'm luckily not alone) and I should be getting my new phone next week. I was worried about being charged one of those out of warranty fees on my phone because there are a few marks on it? I'm not rooted, all the water damage stickers are still white, and the void sticker is in tact. The grey phone casing has a little damage because I have the T-Mobile gel case the clips scrape the phone when you take it off. I was wondering what anyone's experiences are with sending your phone back? I value everyone's opinion and I'm also curious. I added a couple of pictures so you can see what I'm talking about. Thanks for any input!
The battery door has a few marks but they aren't dents, it just looks strange.
Also, I've googled and it seems like when tmobile sends me a phone and not the insurance company, I get a refurbished phone? Instead of a brand new one? I don't care I'm just wondering.
Well yes T-Mobile will send you New or like new phone. Also dont worry about the damage. As long as the phone is not in parts.

They will send you a refurb. It won't have a battery or battery door. Make sure everything works on the one they send you. I had to get 3 of them before I got one that worked 100%. The first one didn't have the holder for the sd card and the second one the touchscreen didn't work at the top when in portrait. I could never pull down the bar. Check EVERYTHING!

Hey everyone
I have put in a request to get my one x replaced with phones4u due to the screen flexing issue and a creaking case. Yesterday my friend wanted to see the phone as he was thinking of getting one and he dropped it! It wasn't from much of a hight but it has left a few marks in the case...
Should this affect my replacement?

Maybe, depending on the rules of phones4u. Any pictures?
Depends how bad the scratches are and if it's really visible.

They are quite visible scuffs on 2 corners

you might have some problems because they'll try to say the problem was due to you dropping the phone =\
well i've emailed my account manager to ask now, hopefully they will still swap it for me as its not related to the original fault although i guess there's no way to prove that.
If not that my phone is insured so I'll get a new handset one way or another.
body scratches shouldnt hinder the replacement as long as screws and warranty stickers are untempered.
I think its no Problem, until something is broken. I worked for 3 Years for a HTC Repair Center and we are only look for broken displays and broken Cases. Scratches makes no Problems. Good luck Man

it was dropped from around pocket hight to the floor, its left it with scuffs in the top left and bottom left back corners.
Clearly only scuffs to the casing, no cracks or anything.

You should be fine. If they ask about the scuffs, you don't need to say you dropped it, but just that you had it in a jeans pocket with those metal rivets and you didn't realise it was rubbing against it, or something like that.
By the way is it the grey one? If so, did it go shiny where there scuffs are?

You should be fine I read somewhere they'll class it as DOA and they don't bother with DOA phones. They'll make a claim on it or something. I could be wrong though but clearly the screen issues were the reason you were sending it back as long as that is still there you'll be fine, worse that will happen is that they'll just send it back.
EDIT: Ouch, definitely need a case as I'm just like your friend prone to dropping! No replacement housing available as well for the time being so need to be extra careful.
Ohh nasty, I think it should be fine since its getting replaced for another reason, but they could refuse since the screen flicker issue is getting fixed next OTA update

Its not the flickering, its where the screen goes black and ripples when you press the edge of the phone slightly, plus the case creaks in places.
I dropped my phone yesterday when my team scored in the last minute of a cup semi final. It got trampled. Screen smashed to bits. Remarkably it still works and its still in one piece.
Screen is smashed but somehow held together and still responsive

Hi all,
i would be grateful if somebody can send pictures of the Desire HD and the locations of the Void Stickers.
I require to send my desire hd back to htc as it no longer reads any sim cards. i think the reader is broken. i restored to factory settings.
i remeber a while back they was 1 sticker which fell off when the phone was new but i do not remember if it was under the battery flip or the screws near the sim card reader itself.
so could someone please send me photos of the screws near the battery with the cover open and also the sim card reader cover open and where the void warranty stickers are?
i would like to thank the community in advance.
i have read similar threads to thisthis and also when starting this thread there was a list of other questions too which i went through before posting.
I have an inspire but assume they are the same. My only camera is my phone so I can't show you pictures. The void stickers are on two screws. One is on the screw under battery cover on the bottom screw below volume down. The other is on the screw under sim cover right below where it say SD.

I got it off Amazon or eBay (I can't remember) I know I was watching both and decided to go with one of them. Sadly I didn't even tamper with any off them. The issue was the sticker near the battery compartment with time came off, i.e. the sticker became like a paper with a sticky substance which slid off. It’s a shame as I didn't tamper with the hardware and technically it has voided my warranty.

Hi Guys,
From youtube videos (I know great source of info) it seems that removing back cover on HOX is quite easy.
So two questions come to mind first one no one makes entire back cover replacements in many colours?
Also anyone know where I could get the least original white back cover?
I want to sell my HOX and camera lens is scratched. Does not interfer with pictures due to location of it but still.
Cheers,
Luka
I found a lot of them when looking for a black and white one.

it's not that simple!!
at first you will void your warranty as soon as you detach the cover...then believe me that it's very difficult and you could damage the inner frame or other components, since there's a lot of glue that make you feel the phone very solid in your hands...
but believe me that it's a real pain to change the cover...the most difficult part of opening your phone...
however you should do it just if it's stricly necessary imho...
Nah it's really easy. Takes 10 mins to switch over. There is no glue really. For the most part it is clipped on.
I say go for it. I got my white original cover off ebay for £30.
my camera lens also got little scratched. Is there any chance to replace it only? anyone with the same problem?

Maybe we have different version of One X...
I repaired my touchscreen and my htc was full of glue and sticker anywhere...it was the hardest part for me to detach the cover!
However could you tell me where to buy a black one low cost and new?
Thank you!
You got your white original cover off ebay for £30, can u provide the link of the stuff here?
I would be very happy if i could change my display since its screwed haha...and dont change the back cover, take one of those silikon cases

I bought this one. Price has gone up 2 quid but it's an original and delivered from UK.
ebay linky
i bought one too, replacement is a little difficulty but it looks like new
Thx guys, got one in post from link provided. Now wait till Lumia 920 and htc 8x are available for sale to choose one and sell One X

My One X has a creaking corner, where the original back cover seems to give in a little. Any guesses if getting a replacement (because the camera lens also has a few scratches) would help? Maybe the fit would be better... or is the creaking problem something related to how the phone itself sits inside the cover, and getting a new back would be pointless?
Has someone experiences with cases from Hong Kong?
They are cheaper and include the SIM Tray...

After putting the whole thing back together, doesn't the phone start creaking, especially at the bottom part?
No
Opened mine 2 times and the bottom fits better than when it came out of the box.
Only opened it to clean the camera lens from inside and always used the same cover it came with.

Great! That's really nice to hear.
Changed mine from black to white... After changing, my phone is more solid then the out-of-the-box black... Wifi reception is better... Needa change it after my friend knocked my hand while crossing the road... Screen is intact and unscathed though...

anyone have their old grey one and want to sell it?
Hi all, apologies if this has been covered, I did a search but didn't find anything.
I have an HTC one with a cracked digitizer and I am planning on trying to fix it myself (I like a challenge!)
However, I am struggling with which parts to buy. I live in UK and all of the sellers on eBay seem to be on Hong Kong or China and the parts do not seem to be OEM. I am concerned about the quality of non-OEM parts.
Does anyone know of some genuine sellers in the UK/Europe? If you know of somewhere better in the US then I'm happy to pay postage as long as it's genuine.
Also, there are a lot of listings for digitizer only - I cannot find any recorded method of removing the digitizer from the LCD so I assume I should stay clear of them?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Find a HTC Carepoint. They have them but i don't know if they sel them. A repair ad mine shop wil cost you €240,-
@stumark man that's gonna be a tough thing to find. In order to get original parts your either going to have to get it to a HTC repair shop or buy an m7 for parts and rip of the front housing. I just bought the full housing so I can change mine from silver to black but I have not seen any official screens. I can give you the links to some I found in the US if you want tho.

I'm interested in doing the same- changing from silver to black. I'm curious how did it go, did you manage to swap the casing/display without damaging it? I saw some vids on YouTube about it.. looks pretty messy..
I bought my housing from this guy http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Si...er_Cell_Phone_Accessories&hash=item51b4c6527e
U think it only can be original if it comes from us or uk? where do you think this is made?

I'd recommend etradesupply.com also. Bought iPhone replacement digitizer there and it worked awesome.
Hi,
I have a htc m7 with a cracked digitizer and I want to repair it.
I know that the best is to change the digitizer and the screen together(like this one for example), but I saw this video and others to replace the digitizer only and it seems easy.
Did anyone already tried to replace the glass?
I thought it was needed to unglue the screen from the glass and glue it again, but I didn't found much information about this.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Diogo

Yes, i did it my self and if you going to replace the lcd you shouldn't be worry much :victory:
my recommendation it to remove the SIM stick first then, start to insert the tool between the upper lip of the SIM port and the Black lcd frame :good:
then start to pop out the lcd from the the back cover BY moving the tool around the phone.
the bottom speaker grill can be removed easily, but the upper one has a screw from inside from the left side only.
you will find some youtube video, but my recomendation to start from the upper lip of the SIM port
