Good question, when I did a complete unroot and back to stock, my number still showed up as well, so I don't think it's root that is the issue. There has got to be some way to clear the radio settings, but I'm not sure of it.
When you said factory reset, did you go to into the bootloader and do a Clear Storage?

will this have any effect on when I sell the phone? they will not have any problem when they go to activate it will they? when they give the ESN to the vzw tech then they dial #228 the phone will activate under their number correct?
I cleared data/cache/dalvik/ and did a factory reset from the sd card/ storage menu

i just bought my DInc of ebay, and still had the guys number and the internal storage wasn't cleared, i didn't have any problem activating it. just who ever would have your number.

Touch screen won't work-Help Please

Hi I'm relatively new to android but have flashed WM & Symbian before and recently got a DHD unlocked on 2.33. Presently not rooted.
This was something I was just gonna look into and try customs ROMS. But now i have a problem from last night hopefully someone here can help with please.
The phone froze so i took out battery to restart, but on reboot the touch screen won't work so I cant unlock it or anything. I would prefer not to factory reset just yet as the last back up i did to export contacts and sync to windows (vista) contacts was a few weeks ago. So am trying to find another solution and more info from experts here.
I have restarted the phone in BOOT mode and now have 4 options:
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
Is there a way to reset the phone to see if it is purely a software issue without wiping the contacts data? Or a way to access recovery mode to back up the contacts data, even if this means placing some file on an SD card and accessing it via recovery mode to copy contacts data from the phone to SD card? and are their any other options or tools i can use to back up the data.
EDIT
BTW the phone hasn't been dropped or damaged to precipitate the screen fault.
Rebooting from recovery mode didn't help, problem persists. In the extra options in recovery what does "wipe cache partition" do? could that help?
or is there a recovery image i can use to reflash from SD card without wiping the data?
As when one updates the rom from say froyo to gingerbread the data is kept intact.
Or is it possible to image the rom to sd then access the data before i hard reset.
Any advice or help gratefully received.
If you have usb debugging on, you can access your phone through ADB from your pc. Don't know if there are any other options.
Wiping the cache partition doesn't do anything to the contacts and so on.
Sent out of my Free-Candy-Van. Your kids are safe in there. Trust me.
tbh i cant remember if debugging is on or off now, i do remember enabling it at some point but whether i left it on i can't remember and have no way of telling. But am willing to give adb a go...do u have any more info or a link please?

[Q] Help: Cannot decrypt device

I am running 4.2.2 (I9195XXUBNB3), rooted.
I enabled device encryption and then SD card encryption. I wanted to reverse that decision. First, I unencrypted the SD card just fine.
But now, I try to go to "Decrypt device", confirm the password, and click "decrypt device". It shows the green robot for a few seconds, and then reboots, and prompts me for my device decryption password.
I have repeated several times. Any suggestions what to do?
I think you need to backup your data, and do a complete factory reset.

Thanks. Short of that last resort, is there some way I can see logs of what the problem is? Maybe I can deduce a solution without having to reset?

There are two kinds of factory resets, one is done in recovery mode
and is simply called "factory reset". This type of reset does not delete
all the personal data on your internal sdcard.
If you want to a full factory reset you need to go into the settings of
the phone and then navigate to "backup and reset".
There you will see an option to "Factory Data Reset", if you select that
option it will fully wipe your phone's internal sdcard including all personal
information, data, videos, downloaded apps and pictures (everything)
Good luck!
Its works. thank you so much

Firmware update corrupted data

Hello there I updated my international firmware to unlocked/developer and I got a message saying that my password is correct but I need to reset my phone because the data was corrupt.
This is the first time I saw this message so I tried fixing this by formatting the data partition to ext4. I was able to get back but it reset my phone but I have a twrp backup.
However everytime I restore this backup, it does not recognize my pin. I can get into the phone using my finger print but I run into the phone automatically erasing the data if I try to browse the internal data.
I'm already on a clean rom install using a Google backup. I lost some of my pictures because doing dirty installs reset my camera's save location. I wish to try to retrieve my pictures from the twrp if it is possible. Does anyone have ideas?
Did you have the SD Card set as adoptable storage, or external storage that was encrypted? That might help with someone answering your post.
I feel your pain, I learned of adoptable storage the hard way when I was installing a rom and ended up wiping data because of the install method I was testing not working out, which also took out everything on my sdcard including my backups, it sounds goofy now, but at the time I didn't see it coming lol.
I think you may want to check the last few pages of @Sneakyghost 's HTC 10 firmware thread for discussion of a problem like yours, and someone has posted a link to help another user that had a similar problem to yours, unless that was you. It's in the HTC 10 guides and news section I believe.

After restoring your nandroid you have to reboot into recovery and delete the three lockscreen files in data/system. Then reboot and you will need to re setup your pin and fingerprints.
Sorry deleted I thought this was my thread when waking up in the middle of the night.
Still have no answer. Even though I was mentioned.

OP 5T com.android.phone crash when tapping SIM 1 or SIM 2 (in SIM Settings)

OnePlus 5T Phone, OOS 5.1.7, Rooted (Magisk) + TWRP.
Whenever I go in Settings -> SIM & network -> SIM 1 (or sim 2 for the matter), i get the following message: "com.android.phone has stopped".
Can't tell when the issue happened, but about one month ago was working. Tried everything I could think of, except factory reset (cleared data and cache for all phone and sim related apps, wiped Davlik), but nothing worked. Any ideas besides Factory Reset?
Also, if the only option left is a Factory Reset, which partitions should I back-up with TWRP? I have a lot of stuff (from apps, settings, saved content) on my phone which I do not wish to lose, but again, I want to make sure when I restore the backup, that I don't also restore the same faulty configuration which caused the issue in the first place.
The following partitions are available in TWRP Backup:
- Boot
- Cache
- Recovery
- System
- System Image
- Vendor
- Vendor Image
- Data (excl. storage)
- Modem
- EFS
Thanks.

I had Oxy, indeed. Tried to "default" all settings, but did not help. Uninstalling also didn't help.
Do you think there may be some leftover from Oxy? Any suggestions how to clean that up?
Tried again to reinstall, do various setting in OxyMod, but nothing helped. Uninstalling also did not help. So, I'm back to square one. Any help appreciated.

Stock. But I went for factory reset. It seems the OxyMod module is damaged, so until the dev will find the issue, i will keep myself away from it.
Had the same problem, updating magisk module to 7.0 fixed it for me. Stock dailer.
