I'm running cm7, I have 3 hours on my battery and my cell standby is the most used, by far. Why is this? I have signal at -85dbm

Isn't that percentage based on how much battery the phone has actually used? That makes sense in my head, hope it does here.

So I'm using the jugernaught 5.0 from with the streamline kernal. Basically I'm using streamline because I wanted to save battery but i noticed something weird on 4g I'm only getting about 18 hours max with a galaxy nexus battery with wifi on I get around 30 hours. I thought wifi drained more battery. Also this is with about 3 hours of screen time. I've done several test. So firstly does wifi use less battery secondly what a the best kernal for gb right now?

Wifi always gets better battery. Just don't leave it on if you're not using it. I prefer darkside

4G is only used when it's needed. Wifi auto scans at intervals wasting battery if you leave it on all day. Wifi is better while in use.

I already answered you, pay attention
Wifi definitely improves battery life, if you turn your radio off that is or use wifi calling.

Im running calks 3.0 with gunslinger with the aggressive tweak. When I reboot my phone the battery will drop in huge amounts. For instance I was at 44 percent then the reboot. When it came back on I was at 7 percent life. Any ideas how to fix?

From what i heard this is a samsung issue..happens to me as well
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
It happened when i would reboot below 50%

Interesting, you actually recover somewhat after the drop. Mine would be somewhere below 15% and continue to drop from there.

I have that issue as well. I ran battry calibration app from the market. it wipes the battery stats and lets the rom rebuild new ones. it helps. I don't have that issue as much unless im flashing a new kernel.

I plugged the phone in hence the phone rebuilding the strength of battery

When I first installed this rom, my battery life was great. Now, I think something is wrong because the battery life has been running out faster than normal. For example, this is my battery just today:
I am using the freeza dual core fix and I just recalibrated my battery last night. Does anyone know what could be causing the poor battery life?
A rouge app. Or your settings.

I looked at better battery stats app and there are no rogue apps running. My settings are good too. I'm so confused.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I know it was. Everyone's is. Except mine :/
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
try flash a different radio or try a different rom. you will see different battery result.
Mines is OK.... in 14 hrs I had left 45% left ..
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
I just flashed the new radio so I'll see if that helps. So far, I got 12 hours of battery with 3 hours screen time, which is still pretty bad

Should my phone be using this much ram without any application running? (See picture) and could this be causing my battery drain? Thank you in advance!
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Could be, I have about 475 mb with out any apps running, but I have a very debloated rom, almost no Google or Samsung apps, libs or scripts. but if you have 3g cdma on constantly it can seriously drain your battery. Cdma antennas have always use a lot of power. Idk abot 4G lte cuz I don't have it in my area.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Ah thank you kirt I had a feeling my 3g was taking all my battery when I have it on my phone last 7-8 hours but when I have it off and moderate use it can go up too 20 hours. And btw guys I'm using FreeSonic Rom. If that helps. I just think its too much ram being used :/
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
My ram is similar non rooted stock

Okay I've been reading reviews on people getting 20 hours on battery with the same usage as I am, but my battery dies around 12-15 hours which I think is pretty good. Well I'll post up screenies to show you guys. Just checking if my battery life is normal before jumping ahead and buying a new battery.

I'm getting about that with about 6 hours of audio play mixed in.

Oh okay. Thats good to know. I play music about the same amount.

May I ask how battery life is on AOSP roms, like cm?
So what's the overall way to increase battery without disabling the awesome features of this phone? I read in this thread to over charge for an hour or two, but in another thread it says not to over charge the battery... I'm confused

It all depends on how you use your phone. If you have a bunch of apps synching, terrible reception, and the screen on the brightest setting all the time you most likely won't get good battery life. I'm more than happy coming from the Nexus 4 though. That phone had horrendous battery life.

I could get a full days use with my nexus 4 and only use like 40% tasker can work wonders. I'm going to try to it on my s 4 when I let the battery settle from all my changing apps and flashing

Interesting... I use my phone A LOT though and the S4 has impressed me since day one. My nexus dies in a little over a day with no use at all.

I just set up my galaxy s 4 to do the same, I'll try it for a few days. I just use tasker to set it to turn off internet unless I have an app open which requires it.
You can set it to turn on internet and sync at intervals too.
I didnt really change anything. Shut off all features. Brightness like 25%. But I did underclock to 1.3ghz. Which stilll ran really smooth.

My brother and I have the same phones, the s4 and his battery is better. I don't understand why! We have the same exact settings, but his is black and mine is white

Just do what I do. I use an old car battery and I soldered leads into the back of the phone. Sure, my arms get tired and people stare at me in Wal-Mart... but I NEVER run out of battery. :good:
