Hello, I've got CM7 RC2 on my G2, and i've recently found that the stock browser will not work under EDGE network, only (My carrier is movistar Venezuela).
Any ideas why this might be? Don't know if it's a setting or APN, because Firefox Mobile does work under Edge or Wifi.

I just forced 2g on my G2 (CM7RC2) and the standard browser works for me. Went to yahoo, google and cnn with no issues

Where did you applied that setting? Went to browser settings and didn't find anything there. Or is it through a command in terminal?? Because if I go to mobile network settings I check "only 2g networks" and nothing, if I go to firefox, it cool there.

Does it really matter about browser..
Android stock browser = internet explorer 6 in terms of popularity
Dolphin Browser HD = Firefox in terms of EPIC
Who honestly cares about stock.

Still no one has given a better answer than using another browser.
My question is why stock wont work on edge and firefox does? Besides, firefox doesnt play flash content very well.
Like I posted, it works for me. When I have issues, I make a new backup (I keep like 3 different ones on my phone and many older ones on my computer) and reflash the ROm. See if that fixes your issue.

Here's the tmobile-tv.apk file from the MyTouch HD ROM. T-Mobile gives you a 30 day trial and 9.99 per month fee for premium access and i think free for the standard stuff. not sure what's what yet but i tried out a few channels and it works great!

I believe it does an account check on initial use. it requires you to be on mobile data to start the app the first time, and then after you can stream via wifi if you want.
installed this on my hd2 running android 2.2. it installs, and when i open it, it gets stuck on the magenta t mobile tv opening page and nothing loads. anyone else get this problem?
Edit: got only blank screen when connected to 3g. connected thru wifi, then ran program, got past initial page, search for updates, do you want to start trial, clicked yes, and it said i must disable wifi on first run, so i clicked disable wifi, and then it gets stuck in loading screen. so i get nothing in 3g, in wifi, get somewhere but sent back to 3g. anyone else?
I was just coming to post this, but it looks like you beat me to it.
I just extracted it from the MyTouch ROM, installed it on my G2, and it's working perfectly. I have no intention of actually paying 10 bucks a month for it, but I'll keep it installed, see what content stays free after 30 days.

Not sure if you know but that NFL apk floating out there is for verizon, yet I have it running on at&t.

Actually, if you read the agreement, you can go to the HELP tab and unsubscribe from there. There is a checkbox that you uncheck to unsubscribe.
Hung on 3G so turned on wifi said to close wifi then just 'hangs" on 3G. So I rebooted and now just "hangs" on both 3G and/or Wifi.

I need help , I'm running Myns Fls5. The 3g works good but the 4g connects but never loads pages it always get stuck. I've installed adfree and updated the radios. I love the look and feel of this Rom but the 4g not working is a deal breaker for me . Anyone had this problem ?

You have installed AdFree. I don't know what you have done subsequently, but here are the fixes needed:
1. Revert to default hosts file in AdFree.
2. Change "Custom IP" so it is not 127.0.0.1. I personally use 127.0.0.2 and it works fine.
3. Download updated hosts file.
4. Reboot the phone. (Possibly not necessary, but is good for troubleshooting sake).
If you follow all three steps, it should fix the 4G page loading problem.

Thanks for the info. It still gets stuck loading . My friend has iPhone and I let him tether from my evo using 4g and his pages were loading fine .

Hmm. Maybe try clearing cache and data from your browser app? Then update profile and prl, then reboot and see if it works. This only happens on 4g? Browser works fine on WiFi and 3g?

I have no clue what it is. I've installed rls5 again and no luck . WiFi and 3g work great.4g connects and I've ran a speed test it pretty fast, but when I try to surf the web it gets stuck. Some pages load but its not fast like when the stock browser was installed . Thanks for the help

I just flashed kings ultra and its pretty snappy. The 4g worked when connected. I've noticed that I got better 4g connection with myns but it never loaded pages . I live in a bad 4g neighborhood so ill see tomorrow if the 4g holds up in stronger areas . Thanks for the help

My tethering seems to have stopped working. I'm running Juggernaut 5.0 and I received these texts when I enabled hot spot.

When I connect to my hot spot on my laptop and open a browser, it redirects me to a Tmobile page to sign up for hot spot.
I tried to use titanium backup to freeze tethering manager but it's not listed. Any ideas?

I was receiving redirect page on my laptop when tethering with my GS2... I installed the user agent spoofer as mentioned above... and changed it to FF10 and browser works just fine

My parents need to need to lock up my phone so I have no Internet access, not even wifi. Is there an app that anyone can develop or if there is one already that cannot have data cleared or force stopped? Please tell me as soon as possible.
Let me explin it better again sorry to bump this.. I need somthing that can lock wifi and i have no root but like lock it so no internet access at all and need a pasword to lock it.. But maybe also a phone watcher that monitors? But not text monitor.

Go on the play store and browse. There is an app that can lock other apps without root with a password.

No it doesn't. Wifi is internal on the Android System. And I have no root and I won't root it because of warranty. :/ So that means I can't use a rom with a wifi bug !! :/

Yea too bad you can't root. But the only warranty it voids is HTC's, so it doesn't really matter since if something happens, it goes through your insurance usually.
Rooting= get stock Rom, remove all WiFi modules and files from kernel and Rom, problem solved.

Maybe I am thinking to technical. But you should be able to set your home modem with a MAC filter so that you are blocked on WiFi. I would suggest an ip filter but that normally comes with ups and downs as your phone will look for a new ip later. If you can get your folks to just set up a MAC filter then they can shut down the internet at certain times when you are not allowed to have it and it will function when you are allowed. I do this with my son, all his devices even his xbox get no internet access after 9:30. Every new device he brings home I lock it down. But thats just me.

Just get the app locker and have your parents set their own password, and turn off WiFi and mobile data. Only bad thing is is that you'll be locked out of the entire settings menu. Also, I understand how you feel, I'm 14 years old. Lol. Good luck!

One would assume if he can't have wifi at home then he probably can't have it anywhere else? So locking the Mac would only work at home, kinda defeats the purpose?

They can always see if you are teathering. You are on their network. They can sniff every packet from your phone. The question is do they want to.

Whst problem? It wont even let you turn on the feature. Use easytether. If you get redirected get the ua spoofer extension for chrome on your computer. UA = USER AGENT. Like.. mozilla on windows 7, Or netscape on mac. Or internet explorer on windows millenium edition
