Anyone have experience with Skinomi's Carbon Fiber line of skins and SGP steinheils? Should I get the Ultra-Oleophobic or the Ultra-Crystal? Any help would be appreciated.

The Stenheil. Get the Ultra-Crystal as well. The Olephobic isn't as clear where the Ultra-Crystal feels like it isn't even there and I believe gives it a smoother feeling than the glass.
The Ultra-fine is my favorite. The matte look cuts down on the glare and almost eliminates fingerprints and smudges.
I would post the link on Amazon, but new users can post links.
Anyway, just search for the SGP Ultra-fine.
Hope that helps.
I bought the SPG and this thing is the BOMB you can't tell it's even on the phone. And for 13.99 you can't go wrong. Great buy and excellent product.
I have the skinomi which is a wet apply, but for me its working great you cant tell its on there at all, the cutouts line up perfectly, and you get lifetime replacements..they are a good company to work with, and have used them on other devices before =)
I have the skinomi and was upset they didnt give a microfiber cloth and I couldnt find one at my house. I was mad, it was so hard to make sure the screen had no dust without it. All other protectors I have bought have one and they dont offer it in the package.
Also its already damaged from light use. My old invisible shields where 10 times more tough. In less than a week my $15 protector already has marks that I can actually feel and I dont abuse my phone at all.
How well does the ultra crystal fare against skin oil and smudges?

I ordered the anti-fingerprint... should be here in a day or so.. cant wait cause i dont like the feel of the zagg at all!
Let us know how they are.
Especially the anti-fingerprint..
My two biggest probs with this phone are
A. oil
B. not as smooth as an oleophobic coated equivalent. (AKA oil again)
in for the reviews...
Incredible... They are out of stock. FAIL
be happy you didn't get one. i got my anti fingerprint today and there are no holes cut out on it for the front facing camera. their design is wrong its probably the same as the HD2.
Just ordered the anti-fingerprint.
I've been using the crappy one from sprint, and it already has marks on it that won't come off.
I used to use powersupport crystal film on an iphone, and it felt like glass and lasted forever without getting any marks/dings/scratches on it, so I'll see how this compares.

Many of the protectors on the market don't have cutouts for anything but the speaker - this is not that unusual or "wrong"...
I have pretty much settled on boxwave as my sole provider of screen protectors for various devices after having tried many. They have the best custom fit (all holes cut out) screen protectors in my experience. I actually do not use the clear one, just the anti-fingerprint one.
For cases, I pretty much go exclusively with Seidio now too.

its not wrong... like someone else said.. i am not sure i have heard of ANY screen protector that has cutouts on the front for the camera or light sensor. Like i said in the other post, these are "99.9% optically clear" and they should not interfere with anything.
Well.. i got my Steinheil anti-fingerprint the other day and i am shipping it back today.
What i liked: The fit / cut was great! Didnt interfere with the camera and was perfect. I really like the material its made of (not stretchy spongy like Zagg) very hard and felt good on the screen. And the aheisive they used was really awesome! While putting it on, its very easy to take off and move so you make sure you have it in the right spot, but after its on, it stays in place well!
What i didnt like: Really the only thing i didnt like was the matte finish on the anti-fingerprint ones. It felt nice and was great to the touch. My finger glided very smooth over the surface, however, it seemed to give the screen a grainy look and with this beautiful screen on the Evo, you just cant have that.
I would absoulutely buy from them again if they had the clear in stock or could tell me when they would have more in stock. But they cant, so i am returning it and think i will try the handhelditems ones just to see if there is a quality difference in the "value" priced ones VS. the "premium" ones (my guess is there wont be)
zagg has cutouts for both. it's the only one i have delt with.

Just got mine last night. I have the same opinion of it. However, I applied mine anyway because I had the crappy universal Sprint one on there and they only cut a square to match the 4.3" display instead of all of the glass.
I ordered a crystal one also last night...I'm impressed with the anti-fingerprint one, but like you said, the matte/grainy finish is just a no-go on such a nice display.
Boxwave has these cutouts. I have and always will be a Boxwaver....

Boxwave boxwave boxwave. All the correct cutouts and perfect feel and look.
I received the Steinheil Ultra Crystal Clear protectors in the mail today. I like the feel of it-no rubbery feel at all. The installation is a dry method and very easy to apply and walk away with a perfect looking screen. There is no wait time like with some other brands out there where you need to use liquid for the installation. On the EVO I've tried Ghost Armor, Phantom Skinz, and ExtremeShields and now Steinheil. Steinheil by far is my preference though wish the protectors were cut to the actual size of the screen not smaller than it. I'd much rather have a more difficult installation with 100% of the screen covered than an easier one with portions of it unprotected. Of all the protectors I've tried cut wise-Phantom Skinz covered the most screen of all them.
Are there any protectors out there that retain the bare glass feel? I don't care about finger prints or glare, just don't want any scratches I've fallen in love iwth how smooth the screen is
Yeah, I do have the same question. Digging through the 'Best Brand for screen protectors?' and can not find clear answer.
I even do not care to pay more for the ultra clear and same touch feel.
People, you did bought a lot of different brands. Could you please consolidate the feelings after week(s) of usage, anyone?
I have the PhantomSkinz on my Captivate, and I have a zagg on my zune HD. I also tried a ClearFreak on the Captivate for a week or so before the PhantomSkinz came in. Long story short, phantomskinz is a bit better than zagg, and both of them are much much better than the clearfreak. I wrote up a post comparing the three and posted pics here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7420035&postcount=22

SKINOMI.
Though you can feel the edges of the case protector, the screen protector is beautiful.
It is something like .08mm thick and adheres completely flush. I am a new fan of skinomi and love the picture/screen quality with it.

Hmm I will have to look into that I ordered a Seidio ultra clear last night (2 pack) so maybe I'll do a comparison
I use Realook on mine. It smudges up pretty bad but when its clean it looks fantastic. There is no adhesive so you can pull it up pretty easily and you get the standard two in a pack. The camera lens cover is a bit of a pain, the thing is so small its hard to keep fingerprints off the back side when putting it on but I got it on in the end.

That's a good question. It sounds overpriced if you need only one kind, e.g. clear transparent. But if it's great it may worth it to buy. I would like to get a feedback.
I just got my two realook screens today. They do smudge easily but its not any worse then without the protector. It went on easily and I have one small bubble on the upper left corner which I am sure will go away in a day. Overall I am very happy with it, and for $11 for two shipped to my house, I couldn't pass it up.

How do they feel compared to the stock glass screen?
I had an Invisible Sheild full body skin...didn't like it. It wasn't super clear and was a little sticky, I just swapped my phone at AT&T today and they talked me into the screen covers they sell, I guess its new? 3 for $10, so far I like it 100x better than invisible shield, much clearer and closer to the glass feel!
Just got my Seidio protectors in yesterday They were really easy to install and left zero bubbles that were hard to remove. The clarity is awesome - I can't tell that there's a protector installed by looking at it. The surface does seem a bit less smooth than the glass, but I can live with it!

I bought two Skinomi's from Amazon (thinking I might screw up first installation). sure enough, I did screw it up first time, leaving big bubbles. But the second try went down perfectly (you gotta be very careful not to let fluid get into edges of phone during installation).
But ... in the end I found it felt like too much drag when swiping the screen compared to the naked screen. Difficult decision - I'll be really pee'd off if I scratch it, but I'm going naked for now - I'm just gonna be super careful.
I picked up some of the Skinguardz and they definitely have a rubbery feel.
I ordered SGP. Will let you know how it works when it will be delivered.

Hello,
Do you recommend Belkin Anti-Glare Screen protector for SGS2? (if you have used it) If not, which screen protector do you recommend? The most important thing for me: It nearly shouldn't have any affect on touch screen sensitivity.
Thanks.
You see im in the camp of whats the point of a screen protector, adding another layer to screen. I just use a cheap clam flip case to keep the screen safe. Only just had S2 but never had a screen protector on my sgs for over year and never got a mark on it

I'm using a basic silicon case. Flip cases are protecting well but having a flap hanging around while using the phone is a little bit annoying for me. I want to use it because, Gorilla Glass screen is just scratch resistant, not scratch-proof. There are many people reporting scratches after just daily use. Also Anti-Glare films making the screen easier to slide, especially in games like Fruit Ninja

OK, I will be glad if you let me know about it. It looks fine. But I couldn't find any local online shop selling Estoc protectors. So, i think I'm going to buy this one tomorrow:

I will write about it.
I have tried the SGP ultra oleophobic, and this worked well for 2 weeks, but after that it would start to attract oil, ... the opposite of what it was supposed to do, the plus side is that it doesn't have tint and the screen looks good. I am now going to try the Halo screen protector. Let us know how you screen protector turns out.
I really like the one that comes with the otterbox for the S2.
it's easy to put on and fits perfectly!
hope this helps
Definitely Zagg invisibleSHIELD.
I couldn't find them locally either. GMarket was the only place I could find them online, I split the cost of shipping with a few other people from XDA.

It also is much smoother, no orange peel & is not tacky unlike zagg products.
But zagg is still a very good product in my opinion.

im using the ultra crystal... very clear though fingerprints are visible at times
zagg is a good brand/product ... but the invisible shield, like chrisjcks said, is not smooth which affect the touch response cause of that tacky feel of it
Received the 3M Estoc screen protector today. It's quite solid, and enables you to 'buff out' minor scratches & dings on the protector. This is due to a coating on the protector itself that obviously wears away over a period of time. It comes with a 49873 page encyclopedia with instructions on how to fit (due to having instructions in 192 different languages). The package contains the protector itself, a microfibre cleaning cloth, a cardboard thingy to smooth out the bubbles when you fit the protector and a few dust removal stickers.
Fitting was no more difficult or different to any other screen protector, just a case of making sure the screen is perfectly clean/free of dust, then slowly/carefully applying it to the screen & smoothing out the bubbles as you go.
This is a good protector if you're using a bumper case & don't have your screen covered, it will easily handle being in a pocket with other items & should protect the screen quite well. It will probably last at least a couple of months (maybe more, depending on how rough you are with your phone) if you use your phone like this. As I use a flip case, it will probably be good for much longer than this, as the face of the phone won't be exposed to the lining of pockets, keys, loose change, etc, etc.
Now to the question of value. Is it worth the ~$25 or so ? Compared to the $15 protector I had on my phone previously, and given I use a flip case which protects the screen anyways, probably not. I doubt I'll be spending another $25 on one of these when it comes time to get a new screen protector.
But if you're someone who uses bumper cases/etc & likes having a 'nudie' screen, I'd definitely recommend these. Obviously if you only order one from GMarket the shipping will make it a fairly expensive exercise, but you could always order more than one/some other stuff from that site, or find someone on XDA to go dutch on the postage who lives in your country like I did (thanks to Victaaaa for same )
The Zagg invisibleSHIELD is the best in my opinion, uses a fluid that facilitates the placement may be withdrawn and placed if things do not go well the first time, this has the orange peel effect but this in no way affects the image or touch . I used it in the first SGS for 1 year and now I'm using it in SGSll about 8 months.
i recommend sgp ultra crystal too...i am using for 5 months and i have no problem at all...fully satisfied.
Thanks for all recommendations. I couldn't have any time to buy one yet; but I hope I'm going to buy this weekend from a store near here. I'm going to buy Belkin, if I can't find it I will prefer SGP or Zagg.

I use SGP Ultra Crystal and so far so good.
Zagg is probably the worse of all of them because of its tacky-ness. Also its scratch healing properties wear off after a month or so. The best is the 3M Estoc+ followed by SGP or RG Japan.
sgp ultra, solid choice in my opinion.. can't go wrong
I recommend SGP ultra crystal film or 3M estoc

Would you mind posting some pics of the Flex HD installed on the GS3? Really curious to see how it looks installed.
I have tried both.
-FlexHD-
Pros:
anti-glare
fingerprint proof
fits the screen perfectly
Cons:
my first batch has this very weird rainbow effect problem. currently waiting for my free replacement from SGP; their customer service is very good.
-Steinheil Crystal-
Pros:
as the name suggests, it's crystal clear
feels very high quality
Cons:
does not cover the whole screen; see photos:

Overall, I prefer the FlexHD and that will probably be my final protector once I receive my replacement. Although I'd replace it with a Steinheil Oleophobic (when they come out) if it has that rainbow problem again.
If anyone has any comparison questions, feel free to ask me. I've tried FlexHD, Steinheil Crystal, and XtremeGuard. I'll probably try a Zagg before I put on a new FlexHD as well...
I'm not sure why you'd waste your money on Zagg. Honestly, those have got to be the worst, most lint happy, bumpy, overpriced films I've ever seen. Have you ever used a Zagg? I've had several kits on iDevices years back and they're great for the backs of iPods just for protection but SGP is leaps and bounds ahead of them IMO.

Im actually kind of liking that it doesn't cover all of the glass, it looks like the actual screen is covered which is the purpose of it right? and with it not covering the entire thing getting any bubbles out would be easy right?
Thanks for the pics on the Steinheil Crystal. compare to the flex, it's not that bad lol
after 8 hours, the bubbles disappear except for 2 I can still see but the rainbow is still there.
took the pics on the S2

I'm sold!
I almost fell outta my chair when I watched the installation video.....my first concern was "how the hell they gonna show a screen protector install in 23 seconds???" The rest was history. Already placed my order, that's is a purely genius idea/technique they've got there. I don't really care that it doesn't reach the edges of the phone, my Otterbox will likely cover the area it doesn't so no worries.
Thanks for sharing that
@916x10
Please post pics and let us know about quality when you get it. I'm totally tempted but already received two Zagg Full Body and ordered the Ultra Crystal.

How clear and how is the feel of their protectors
I have never used a screen protector, so I am not sure of that but I have used their back protector and it is top notch. I have a brushed aluminum on my phone. I am considering getting a brushed steel for the note to give the back a little firmness and protection.:good:
Their screen protectors feel like the Zagg invisibleSHIELDS and are installed the same way. I'm not really a fan of their screen protectors as I prefer the smooth feel. I do love their back protectors though.
I wish these companies that sold full body protection would sell the backs separately.
Skinomi is awesome, customer service is great. I had a classy wood grain for my TFT201. Can't wait to get one for the Note. To be honest though, I never was a huge fan of the screen protector. It is definitely serviceable. But I love the skin to avoid scratches to the casing. And to class it up via dark wood grain.
my skinomi just arrived today. Im just waiting for it to dry up a lil and ill post some pics if anyone wants

I would love to see photos. how was the install?
Ill post pics once i get one my pc. It was an easy install but if you use your note to draw i suggest you keep the screen bare. I notice the screen protector increases drag on the spen and makes photoshop incredibly aggrivating

Agreed. I don't like screen protectors. The always diminish the look of the screen, regardless of how crystal clear they supposedly are.
I also wish Ghost Armor was faster at new products. I prefer the Matte finish.
I am more interested in the back skin. How did that work.
