I have been running this rom for a couple of days now. Its fast quick and very well designed. But I have been experiences a couple of issues. 1 wifi disconnects even when im next to my wireless router. 2 I get alot of droped calls for some reason while im on the phone an app will launch and drop my call. 3 Slingplayer works but when I change channels no picture comes up only the sound. I have used other roms and never had this issues can I get some help anyone.

I have been running this since it came out wiped and flashed it multiple times over the course of messing with my phone and never had any of the above issues.
The first thing I would try is to wipe everything with calk's format all zip and reflash the ROM.
Do you have the link for zip file.

This guy just attached it in another Q&A thread, but it's also in the Calkulin's Mods and Fixes thread and the EViO 2 thread.

Last two questions, how fo I flash this zip file, and where can I throw you some change, even if it doesnt work I would like to thank you for your help and quick responses, much appreciated.

No need for donations, thanks button is enough. If you want to though, I added a link.
Flash from recovery. I usually wipe cache/dalvik/data/SD EXT (if your sd card is partitioned) and then flash the zip. If you are using Amon Ra, just flash that zip like any other ROM/Kernel, etc. You can flash it with older versions of clockwork as well, but not the current version. If you're running a newer clockwork, and it gives you an error when you try to flash it, just manually wipe cache/dalvik/data/boot/system then try flashing the ROM again.
Also, if you are using Titanium to restore your apps, make sure you don't restore any system data and when you restore your apps, restore app only and not app + data. If your backups are from a Froyo ROM, the safest thing to do is redownload them and make new back ups. I think you can change the name of your Froyo backups folder on the SD card so that you can keep them and use that to restore if you flash any new Froyo ROMs. Most people don't have issues restoring apps btw the two, but if you're having issues, better IMO to be safer. Hope that makes sense.

Few thing's
1) I can't find kernel for the froyo rom on evo. And after that which apps are good for overclock on evo.
2) is there an app that will not only back up apps but the settings within the apps so flashing different roms would be easier.
3) is it safer to reboot into recovery by actually doing it or are the rom managers capable without harming the system
Thanks.

This is epic forum not evo. I moved the thread to evo general.
Thanks. I appreciate it. Told u I was a noob

1. I think Cyanogen Snap is a Froyo kernel, but I also know it should be easy to find them on the first page of the Development forum if they're here. They'll start with [KERNEL] in the thread title. You didn't mean ROM, did you?
2. ClockworkMod Recovery or Amon Ra will back up everything as a system image, but Titanium Backup will back everything up more modularly AND allow you to restore things into different ROMs. This means you can flash, say, Fresh 1.0.1 and then restore your accounts, apps, app data, even scenes. Just know that it may be safer to only restore what you need, piece by piece as much as possible, rather than restoring everything all at once, unless you're using a Sense ROM. I didn't have any trouble when I restored everything, but I've seen some people say it's safer to be conservative.
3. I don't think it matters, but I always do my flashing work from the recovery boot, not while booted into Android. It's the same reason I turn off the engine in my car before I try working on it. I could probably do some stuff safely, but it's easier to just reboot into recovery.
I was getting ready to install my first ROM and wanted to make sure that I had everything ready to go. I searched but wasn't sure on a definitive answer.
I'm on a Droid Incredible, Rooted, Titanium Backup installed, ClockworkMod updated to 3.0.0.5 using ROM Manager. I created a CWM recovery and backed up both data and apps with Ti Backup. I planned on flashing to the Incredibly Re-Engineered ROM using ROM Manager. From what I understand I will flash the stock ROM off and it will install the new ROM. What I'm not sure about is how I get the backed up data/apps reinstalled after the new ROM installed. Also, does the ROM flashing delete all data on internal/SD memory or only the ROM data?
Sorry if this has been answered already. I've read everything I could find on rooting and installing new roms and still not sure on this last step.
Thanks,
It's not a good idea to restore data from your apps once you install a new Rom..... if you have backed them up with titanium just restore apps not the data......

Will pictures, texts, contacts, etc all be flashed? Mainly trying to determine what I need to pull and what can stay on internal/sd card
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Pictures should be fine, as long as the SD card and EMMC don't get formatted. Texts however will all be deleted, as they are located in the system. I use SMS backup + from the market, it backs them up to GMail. Works perfectly.
For contacts, I would export them to the SD card (menu - export), but I always have all of mine sync to Google. That way they always auto restore when I flash ROM's.
But as always, I would definitely back up any important pictures you have anyway.
I have contacts synced to my Google account. I think I have a pretty good handle on how everything will react. Thanks for the help

Also, you really should upgrade to CWM 3.0.0.8, in Rom Manager scroll down to all recoveries, and choose 3.0.0.8. 3.0.0.5 has some wiping issues that can cause a lot of problems. That way when you wipe, it actually wipes
Also, your not flashing the rom off, your flashing the new rom over the old one and that erases it
Sent from my LiquidLight using XDA App
ok. So after I do a data/cache/delvik I'll Flash from CWM and be good to go. Thanks for the 3.0.0.8 tip. got it taken care of as well.
Yep, your golden. Just curious, what rom are you flashing?
Sent from my ADR6300
Flashing a new Rom won't touch your SD card unless u specifically format SD. With cwm 3.x I usually wipe data/cache 2-3 times as there was an issue with it not wiping properly at one point. Supposedly its fixed but I like to err on the side of caution. With titanium I think its generally ok to restore data on the items in green but not any in red. I have yet to have issues doing things that way ymmv.

I was going to try incredibly re-engineered. Looked like it was extremely stable and I like the sense calendar/social integration while being able to theme. Any recommendations for others to try?

I saw that the final release of cm7 came out and I'm super excited for it! I've been running RC3 for awhile and it's been working fine, but there have been some issues that I would like to have fixed with the update.
My question is: Is there a way to update the rom without losing all of my data or having to do a full wipe?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
You wont need to do a full wipe, just download the ROM to your sd card, boot in to recovery and do a nandroid backup. Then select wipe cache. Once that has finished head to advanced and select wipe dalvik cache (some people say to do this some don't, I do) then flash the ROM.
You will only lose all your apps and setting if you select wipe data, you only need to do this if you are have serious issues that cant be fixed by any other means. Or if you changing to a completely different ROM.
And remember to do a nandroid before touching anything else in the recovery menu
That's it? Awesome! I know what I'll be doing tonight.
Or you can just do it from rom manager and not check the wipe data. I swear some of you just like taking the long way.
Always do a nandroid? No. Nandroid your original rom? YES. Nandroid custom rom? Only if you like it..but to do a nandroid every single time you flash new rom is ****

ROM Manager can some time cause issues when you flash directly from the app, Some people prefer to do it manually. Ok it might not be totally necessary to wipe the cache's between flashes but does really hurt?
And I resent you saying that doing a nandroid is "F'in Retarded" how frequently do we see people on these forums who have flashed something there not supposed and there most recent backup was weeks ago. It never hurts to do a nandroid it adds 5 minutes to the total time it takes flash something.
As some one who does do a nandroid every time I take your insult personally. And that sort of language is not appropriate in a forum where people of all ages can view.
LOL i don't even have a nandroid of my original ROM. I just got 1 image of RC4...
So I wanted to be 'better off safe than sorry', and I did a nandroid backup (using the latest CWM) before doing a CM7 RC3 -> CM7 Final non-full data wipe upgrade. I had a bunch of problems from the get go, and wanted to revert back to my RC3 backup as I didn't have time to fiddle with everything to get it tweaked from scratch...
However I can't for the life of me get Clockwork to recover my backup. It stops half way through and I'm left sitting at the main orange menu with no confirmation or details on what happened.
Any thoughts?

Glad its not just be with this mentality. Better to be safe than sorry. I haven't had to start from scratch since the first nightly, because I all ways have a recent nandroid, some times things do go wrong.

I did the backup (2 actually) and just installed the update. Everything seems totally fine so far and I'm really happy with it! Seriously stepping up to cm7 has made my G2 go from a decent phone with a nice keyboard to a flipping fantastic phone!
Many thanks!

Your definition of *** seems to be basically the opposite of mine. What if an update breaks something (especially if you are cutting corners by not wiping or by using ROM manager) if you don't have a nandroid of your phone before you flashed that update you are screwed, you will need to start over from scratch.

Yeah, I agree with you completely. Doing a nandroid takes 5 minutes. Then later you can just move it to your desktop computer, to not take up space on your SD card. I have 3 TB of storage on my desktop, so no worries about saving as many nandroid backups as I feel like.
I've seen random issues pop up on my phone for no obvious reason, with no clear fix. But reverting to a nandroid cleared it up.
Really no reason NOT to do it.
I have been using the syndicate rom for months to perfection, love it. But I was using the wifi tether and suddenly my phone restarted. After it booted up the sms, google talk and email app will not work; I open them and they force close all the time.
What can I do?
Thanks.
restore a backup or reflash.. and post in the correct section
Moved to Q&A. And wipe data to fix it.
Thanks.
Sorry for not posting in the correct area.
I reflashed the rom and it syill gives me the problem. Guess I will have to wipe then reflash the rom?
If I do a rom backup, and restore that one, will I have the same errors?
Yes... Happen to me twice... Make backups weekly is your only hope. It reboots and nothing work again. After two reboot more it stops in the acs loading screen
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
that happened to me too. what fixed it for me was to odin to dk28 and use a rom from there im still using truly epic rebirth for dk28 and haven't even thought of switching to and eb13 or ec05 rom
Acs backs up data when you reflash, and puts it back on.. therefore returning the corrupt data.. so you have to wipe data before reflashing or you'll be in the same boat. I always format system and data before flashing a rom just to make sure. Do regular nandroid backups and mybackup root or titanium backups if you are going to run a no journals rom

Thanks to all.
I fixed it.
I had to boot into CWM and fix permissions there. What I don't get is that I did the "fix permissions" through Rom Manager...so what's the difference?
If that didn't work then I would've had to wipe/reflash.
Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
Rom manager doesn't work with the epic.

This. It is still currently trash. Don't even bother.
ok i flashed the newest vr gengersense b.4. Since ive done so here are some of the issues.
-cant call some numbers in contact till they call me the first time.
-led wont flash to notify
-random rebots
-lose 3g coverage for 20-30 min at a time (randomly)
-have force close on mms, market, camera, and a few apps from the market.
-i wiped and everything ive tried to get rid of for the new rom is still loading
pretty sure there was a few other things but mind is a blank. sorry to bother ive looked just dont have alot of time at work to try and work this out any input is good. also tried to find something to do a full wipe but cant seem to find nor am i sure that will fix issues
I would reboot into recovery, wipe EVERYTHING in the wipe menu except the SD card and then re-flash the rom.

ive done that and still the same issues. now after that ill get text messages and it shows there blank. also deleted and re downloaded rom. and tried the new download and no go still. ive flashed atleast 30 diff roms since ive had this and never had this issue. well that wasnt fixed by a re flash
Are you using clockworkmod or amon RA recovery? Clockwork doesn't wipe correctly and leaves things behind. I would recommended puting on amon and then go into recovery use calkulins format all then wipe manually then flash and boot and it should work. Also as far as the market fc'ing that might be a sign that you didn't flash a gapps file. If that's not the case go into setting>applications and find the market. Once there clear the data for it and see if that works. Good luck.

And if other apps from the market are closing try installing them from the market and not a backup from titanium. When backing up and restoring apps to other roms some things stuck with them from other roms that may cause in wanted side effects (force closes)

ok so i switched from clockwork to amon ra and that fixed a bit. now have an issue whit doing a restart on the rom it hangs at the evo screen. but may be something with the rom will take this part back to the forum for the rom. thanks
Copy the contents of your SD card to your computer. Afterwards, reformat & re-partition your card. Put the rom back on the card. From recovery, go to the wipe menu and wipe EVERYTHING in it EXCEPT the SD card and then flash the rom. Any problems you've had should be eliminated. Be patient during the initial boot.
