Noob question...so does my phone have this ability already? If I look in the video quality selection in the camera it says "high, low, mms and Youtube? Does youtube mean 720p?
Yes it does. The high setting is 720p.

might be easier if you upload one to youtube and share it so we can figure out what you are talking about

i just noticed this only happens when u record on 1080p i feels like its more zoomed in.. kinda weird.
Its the 1080p feature. 720p looks perfectly fine or even better.
I do a lot of video recording and at 1080p it looks to be 1:1 ratio.
Most of us are used to recording at lower resolutions which have a different ratio.
It threw me off at first too.

You're right, mine does that as well, and once I change it to 720, it zooms back out.
Anyone think this could be fixed with a rom?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Just noticed this myself!
On 1080p it looks zoomed in.
On 720p depending which way you shoot it it looks good, but when you rotate the phone and it switches to different viewing screen it looks zoomed in.
Hercules, Hercules!!
A review (forgot which) mentioned the 1080p uses another sensor in the lens whereas 720p uses the wide? Totally misquoted but tldr: its hardware based. Just stand back a bit.

Just a query, now we have the camera libraries, is it possible that they could be edited to reduce the compression in video recording? Could the bitrate be upped to give better video?
Sent from my LT15i using Tapatalk
With libralies you cant do NOTHING.
It just to make easy for devs to port it in their rom.
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium
Ah ok. In that case, is there anything possible to improve bitrate?
Sent from my LT15i using Tapatalk
How do you mean?

One of the main issues with the video recording on the arc etc is it records in low bitrate. If we can increase the bitrate we can improve the video.

Try igCamera or igCameraPro - you can set the video quality - i use 8 mbit (1280x720) on Arc S
Just had a look, I got the free one, limited to 640*480, but the paid version doesn't show in the market. Might be because of the rom I'm using
Ill try another rom and have a look, thanks!
Sent from my LT15i using Tapatalk
Yeah, the pay version is called igCameraPro - had to search for it manually.
But I'm not sure if 1280x720 requires Arc S hardware. Not sure the Free version has limitation in that regard.
Found it. Got 1280*720 30fps at 20Mb working fine! Have to drop the sound quality for it to work though. Setting sound to stereo causes the framerate to go crazy.

Cool. Stereo shouldn't matter since Arc/S doesn't have stereo mic anyway.

The Arc has the capabilities to record in stereo.

Yeah, it gas two mics, stereo audio in video was added in one of the updates.

Anyone know if there is a camera port capable of higher fps for slo-mo recording? Like the stock camera is capable of.

This would be extremely helpful. Its the only reason I keep going back to a Sense based ROM.
I like to create Auto Awesome videos after my family goes out and does something fun. Having some Slow Motion clips in there really makes it cool
As the title suggest. Is there any differences between Slow Motion Recording via Time Shift mod and Slow Motion video edited using the Movie Creator app? Can someone make and upload the comparison? Thanks.

The Timeshift mod is probably recording at a higher frame rate so you get smooth slow-mo, the app would be slowing the video down, so will probably look jerky (never used it though)

Yeah it does look kinda blurry. I really don't feel like modding my Z1C... ? I'll try looking more into this, thanks dude.

Hi,
Slowmotion edition will never be as good as slowmotion recording.
Guess you're talking about the 120fps timeshift mod.
With this mod, you'll take 4 times more frames/sec than usually. So when you'll bring it back to 30fps, all your 30 frames will be different, resulting in a very smooth slowmotion video.
In the other hand, if you're editing a "normal" video (30fps) to 4 time slower, you will just duplicate each frame 4 times. You'll just have an illusion of slowmotion. But your video will only be 7-8 fps.
I mod my Z1c a week after I bought it... I have no regret.

Yeah, at first I didn't want to install the mod cuz you had to have custom recovery. Turns out you only need Xposed. Now I'm loving this Timeshift Video thing ?
I have set it to every recording quality and its never an option for me to select. Any ideas? I also can't seem to find smooth video recording?

You must go into settings to choose video stabilization and HDR must be turned off.

Thank you so much!! So what is the preferred shooting method for video? I'm going to the beach this weekend for the blue angels air show an want to shoot some videos. Is it better to have HDR on or video stabilization?
Sent from my SM-N910V using XDA Free mobile app
I like stabilization better and I personally shoot in FHD. The higher video resolutions does Not allow HDR, stabilization or dual cameras. Just start shooting now and see which mode works best for you. Good to familiarize yourself with the options. Good luck!
