Hi guys I was wondering if anyone has some input for my question. I am able to flash a new ROM and when I was flashing a new kernel I then rebooted the system but I noticed that my phone screen was stuck on the "HTC Evo 4G" white screen and never booted to my actual phone screen. Is there any way around this? Should I flash the kernel first then reboot system or flash the ROM first then the kernel? any help would be so appreciated, thank you in advance!

Every now and then, my phone will get stuck after flashing a new kernel. I usually just boot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik again ... takes care of it. If I forget and get stuck, simply pull the battery, and volume down/screen on button to get into recovery ... rinse and repeat.
You're doing it correctly ... flash rom and install ... then reboot into recovery and flash the kernel.

Hello! I successfully flashed Synergy RLS1 on my HTC Evo and it was working after that. I flashed some updates that I wasn't happy with so I decided to re-flash the Synergy RLS1 update. It flashed successfully but I was stuck on the HTC Evo 4G white starting screen for quite a while. (30 minutes)
I battery pulled, restarted and went into recovery. I did a Clear Storage and after 10 minutes it was still on the HTC Evo 4G white start screen so I decided to battery pull.
I tried again this time going into the bootloader menu and doing a reboot. It was stuck at the white screen for 10 minutes again so I just did another battery pull.
One last time, I tried starting up the phone normally but was stuck in the screen for about 20 minutes so just battery pulled.
Is there still a way to fix my phone or is it bricked?
EDIT: I am currently in the -black- recovery screen and flashing the rom again. How do I flash from a nandroid backup that I made?
EDIT: Thanks! I was able to get the phone started up! I probably would have ended up making bull**** excuses to sprint (for being rooted) if it weren't for the people on XDA-Developers.
If you can get to recovery, flash a different ROM or flash one of you backups

How do I flash from recovery? I thought ROMS could only be flashed from an application such as ROM manager. Please excuse my noobness, I don't know much about this. Oh, by the way, I'm talking about the white recovery screen. Not the black root one.
If it helps to know, when going into the white recovery, I get a message saying that there is no image file or something (I forget) and then it lets me navigate.
EDIT: Oh, I got to the recovery screen, I am trying to flash a new rom and see if it will help. How do I flash from previous ROM Manager backups?
vol down to recovery and click the power button to boot into recovery and then put it into usb-ms mode and put synergy on the rootof your sdcard and then get it out of usb mode and volume down to wipe.. clear your user data / cache / and dalvik and then go back to flash and then flash rls1 from there and reboot and cross your fingers

Hi Guys,
Was hoping to get help on a matter that has rendered my one x bricked.
All was going well on Android Revolution HD.
Decided to change roms, and my phone started messing up:
It doesn't boot in to clockwork mod recovery, instead appears for a second and then reboots.
I've tried reverting back to the stock recovery and then reflashing CWM Recovery via fastboot, but the same thing keeps happening.
Frustratingly, if i try to flash twrp recovery, exactly the same thing happens - it shows the splash screen for the recovery, then reboots again.
My current ROM is a bit buggy, and I want to go back to android revolution HD.
Im pretty stuck, Any suggestions?!

cwm has been abandoned and don't work on modern software circa 2012 and forward
Flash twrp instead ( you can read more about new vs old layout here https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-x/orig-development/storage-layout-hox-endeavoru-t3022358 )
New layout

Old layout (choose older than v3, for example twrp-2.6.3.0-endeavoru.img)

Hi Guys
I been fiddling with my phone trying different roms and kernels and so on and have a good idea on what to do when something goes wrong.... But today i stumbled across a prob that I cant seem to work around now maybe its simple and my brains overworked and i cant seem to put my finger on it or maybe it is complicated anyway here goes
I switch phone on it goes to the htc one main screen where it says beats audio underneath white background and just sits there so no problem lets boot into boot loader and fix things every time I reboot and hold down volume key it just wont boot to boot loader and carries on to that htc one screen with white background and just sits there.
I cant do anything with any app as phones not detected.....
Any ideas guys????
Regards
Tiger

Yep I had flashed boot.img and the matching kernel and installed arhd latest and now I am stuck where I can boot into boot loader recovery or into phone itself.
If I try to flash anything now it just says detecting device and sits there

go back into bootloader..try the following steps:
fastboot erase cache
then flash boot.img
go into recovery
do wipe data
wipe cache
wipe dalvik cache
flash rom
reboot
and see what happens
and do not and i mean do not flash modules

Hi! All my problems became today, when I decided to root that samsung ROM. I used evervolv (old version) I red the instructions and I flashed kernel and boot.img with the htc one V all-in-one toolkit. It said that: "boot.img flashed" I was like: nice, and continued, did full wipe, and wiped cache then I flashed ROM and update. I tried to boot, but it did not boot. After waiting for about an hour I decided to do something. I was able to get to fastboot, and I flashed boot.img manually trough adb and fastboot, did everything like before, and still no boot.
I decided to try some else rom, because I have SD- card reader in my laptop. I putted sphongle to SD- card and I was able to get to fastboot, flashed boot.img, and flashed ROM. Phone was not able to boot, and it just got stuck in a boot loop. I tried samsung again, and now I can only get to recovery or to the white HTC- screen, that has text about build being for developement purposes only. Does anyone have any ideas how-to get my phone back to life, or is it totaly dead? Answes appreciated =)

Are you flashing correct kernel check that first.
sent from HOV
powered by sphongle 4.2.2
Hmm... I'm pretty sure that I flashed right kernel, but now I can't get to fasboot screen. Only to ClockWork mod recovery. When I boot device, and press vol. down, and power, it always goes to recovery, or if I start to press those buttons a bit later, it only goes to that white HTC screen with red text. =(
E: After a while phone turns screen off, vibrates, and makes the screen again, so some kind of boot loop i guess?
Use the computer, turn it on normally and type in adb reboot bootloader

Was able to get it into fastboot. I flashed kernel and boot.img, those that came with shpongle. Then I did all the wipes and flashed the ROM. Still nothing. Goes into that same screen, and loops there.

I wish 1ce would post the correct kernel for his ROM
wud save a lot of questions
Hi All,
So, I was an idiot and decided to flash the Perseus kernel on my Tmo Note 2 running 4.3 (Stock rom with root). To make things worse, I also decided not to back up anything.
My phone is no longer booting. The only thing that comes up is the "Samsung Galaxy Note 2" splash screen..then nothing. Weird thing is when I press the volume keys, my phone vibrates.
I know. I'm an idiot.
Any help is much appreciated. If at all possible, I rather not have to wipe my phone.
Thank you.
You can still boot into the recovery menu can't you? Just wipe Dalvik Cache and flash a different kernel like AGNI or Devil http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50059835
If you're unable to boot into recovery you should still be able to boot into the download menu where you can Odin a recovery back onto the phone then proceed from there.

Hi sir. I believe I also flashed -something wrong- since I have the same sympthoms quoted above. I have used a kind of "instalator" for "twrp.img" and "victara-24.11.18-retbr-boot-root.img". I have searched through tousand forums and troubleshooting and nothing works. I tried to use the huawi update extractor and flash the stock files, doenst work (the system.img and cust.img are too big and i cant erase the old ones to replace them)... i also tried installing stock ROMs but the twrp recovery can't complete the process, i dont know why...
can someone help me?
What is the phone's model #? Is it a Huawei?
