Ok, I have a 2.02 hBoot EVO running 3.30 Froyo.
I have been rooted for a few days now and I just installed Wifi Tether from the market... It all worked well and what not - but now when I hit the Phone Button on the bottom of the screen (Rooted Stock Froyo) it no longer pulls up my phone dialer or recent history... all it does is pops up a grey bubble with the word "phone" inside it... I attached a few pictures of it to this post - any one know if Wifi Tether had anything to do with this or what else could have caused it?
Thanks
Your phone apk is not in systems. You need to reflash the Rom as it did not flash correctly

Odexed? Deodexed?
You can extract the apk from SteelH's ROM (it is pretty much stock) Or hunt for the actual stock rooted ROMs (deodexed and odexed)
I downloaded the zip file from the skyraider post, and flashed it from RM and after selection of the touch input, I get force closes everytime I touch to start typing. Anyone else able to get it to work? Or was I supposed to delete something?
Also I am in desperate need of a kernal for skyraider. This rom is mad slow.

I had just pushed the HTC_IME from SR 3.5 to my SR4.0 flash. Did this before the one that was posted in the first post was put up. Works fine for me...
Have you tried fixing permissions to see if that works for you? I would try that... If you want, I pull the HTC_IME.apk that I have and upload it, and you can try to manually push it if you like.
As for a kernel... I wasn't slow on the stock kernel. But I switched back to chad's incredikernel a little while after flashing, and so far so good.
I'm searching for the original keyboard for the evo bbut can't find it, please help

Load a stock rooted EVO ROM and pull the apk from the ROM then put the apk on your SD Card flash your new ROM go into root explorer and then install it I think this is how you do it worked for me at least pulling a clock from a different ROM
This is not the original, it has been slightly modded & the arrows have been removed. It installs fine for me on MIUI.
It's named LatinIME.apk when you download it, but It's the HTC IME. Download and install and see if it works for you.

After installing go to languages and input and check Android Key board
Hope it will be useful.
Download and Install
Now, getting it on your device is going to be easy for some of you, and less easy for others. You'll need to be on Android 4.0+, to start.
If you're on a phone with a UI overlay that has the stock keyboard disabled (eg, Samsung TouchWiz, HTC Sense, Sony), you can just download the apk below- no root required. To install, make sure you have "install from unknown sources" enabled in your phone settings, and after installation, go into your phone's keyboard settings and enable "Android keyboard." Then, you can switch to the new keyboard. This may also work on some "stock" Android custom ROMs - but it will not work on stock Android builds distributed by Google.

If the apk doesn't work, you're running a phone that is either A.) running stock Android (as in, AOSP), or B.) running software that has the stock Android keyboard as an option, you'll need to download this ZIP file, and flash it in recovery. That also means you're going to need root. as you'll be writing to /system/apps. Before you do, though, either back up the stock keyboard (if you don't know how, you probably shouldn't be doing this) or create a full image backup, just in case. Here's that ZIP file:
