The only way for your question to be answered is for you to give each of the radio versions a test drive yourself. Asking others will get you about as reliable an answer as asking what color car will next run a traffic light on Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando- you'll get a multitude of answers, one of which will just happen to be correct.
Baseband performance is extremely subjective based upon your unique circumstances. The simple fact is that the same version can yield drastically different results on two phones from users even within the same city.
That being said, I will reiterate that your best bet is going to be to give each radio version a try for a few days and see which one gives you the combination of signal and battery use that you're happy with. When it comes to this, relying on anecdotes from others is a crap shoot.
+1 on najaboy's response - that nails the true answer to the question.
Geography is also a factor - coverage area, mountains, distance from towers, etc.

People always forget that the DEV's have a fulltime job, families, a life away from the internet, etc., etc. Most importantly, most Devs do this for FUN. When people post **** like this it starts to feel like work, or ungratefulness, which does NOT translate to FUN. When there is no more fun in it good luck finding any Dev to get things out you want. *shrug* Food for thought.

No I meant from Google+HTC + sprint not our devs! Try to comprehend next time before you go on the defensive! There has never been any Rom that was fully functional until it was actually released on the phone.... but hey research and correct me.

there are plenty of people on this site that have no common sense, and more that do, but to post something and be a little vague about it doesn't help unless you specify for all to understand, we all should know by now that only a Sense rom is fully technically fully functional, close's AOSP comes is CM, minus 4g and hdmi, but that should be fixed in due time, right.

Thank you for this. The more I do this the less fun it is becoming. Some days when I read some of these post I wonder why I even bother. Every so often someone will actually thank me for taking the time to do what it is that I do. Time that I spend away from my family. Your posts were about your proposed solution which works for you and you were trying to help. However it was off topic as it was not about using the Evo LTE PRL which is the topic of this thread and thus was moved to its own thread. Now that's enough out of you on this in this thread. Consider this a warning. Further off topic discussion will be met with infractions or short vacations.

I posted 11121 somewhere in the prl post.. Try that one, you should see some improvements (Specifically in roaming)... These are real improvements because they are the corporate prl list and are actually something that increases tower connectivity. I doubt the 2xxxx prls will do anything because they are really geared towards 1x advanced (new technology they are pushing on the 800 mhz spectrum)...
Just put the evo lte prl on last night and it does seem faster only test I ran 1.8 meg down 534kb upload which is a improvement. 3G results

if you are in any area with Wimax i say dont use cause Wimax is still faster, but if you dont have Wimax then USE IT my data is ~ 1.3 MBps after using it
Been using this for a few days now, haven't really seen a huge difference. Can get on Wimax though in contrast to what others are saying. Maybe I'm just lucky?

Bad source information, from what's been discussed in other threads.
Have a look in the HTC Desire HD section and read the hubbub there.
So far as I can see there is no truth to this rumor. Mods are working overtime killing all the threads about it.

I doubt we'll be affected since the Incredible S and the Chinese version of our phone already got ICS.
But this is Verizon, so I guess there is a ever so slight possibility of our phone not getting the update.
If this does happen, then..... Well, I'd rather not discuss it.

All the more reason for us to get worried. Similar to Telus, it is possible that VZW screws us over and says, sorry, NO OTA ICS for you, just because we couldn't make it work with all our god damn, useless and pointless bloatware... Modem repo link. Should have instructions and such as well. Hopefully this helps.
Hey OP - Don't know why someone couldn't tell you, since likely you won't find in a search but rather buried in threads, that it has also been found that from builds Fi03 and forward, that there are changes in not only the modem but the rom and kernel as well that effect 4g speeds for the better. I believe that is why elliwigy mentioned that it's rom/kernel dependent, when usually it isn't.
If you look at the build discussion threads, say Fi27 for example, you'll find modem/speed discussion as well as finding the same tests/discussions in kernel discussion threads.
So, in this case, just looking at modems isn't going to give you all the information that is currently out there.
Talk to your buddy and find out if 4g is in play for them, hopefully that will help you in helping them.

yea i wasnt tryna be rude to op lol.. its just every modem ive flashed on different set ups has given me different speeds every time.. and others in other discussions with same set ups ive had great service with others have not.. it also sometimes isnt the modem.. sometimes its the area you live in.. i for one get terrible speeds everywhere i go in phx no matter what im on.. and i have to have an airave in my house just to connect to that.. im always on wifi but data speeds are terrible here with sprint.. so my point was not to not help, but to encourage you to read a few posts like others suggested which should be easy to find.. and also to encourage you to experiment and flash away until you find the best one for his phone.. on another note, you can always try a different prl .

Absolutely. My wording was bad. I didn't mean to infer that you were being rude. It's just that particular change along with the information that has been seen with the latest builds (along with the changes just in fi03,22,25,27) along with the depths of testing with mixed roms, kernels etc, is very scattered at this point. 4 threads, multiple setup tests, what have you, make it kind of hard to follow.
