All GAC/Managed are "Test Signed"

I noticed when going through the GAC_* from the WP7 Emu dump, that ALL have the same signature.
There is a "TEST Cert" applied so they become "trusted" by the phone, or else it just exit the app.
I think this is the certificate that they apply before adding it to marketplace list, that the app gets "OK".

Nice. Did you check to see what the executables are signed with? Say, TIMETEST.exe or ToggleDog.exe? That would be useful to know.
Just using my lovley program "PE Explorer" -> possible to see everything the exe is containing, including signings.
Ther is another way to, the easy way but not all signature data gets extracted
-right click dll -> properties -> {tab} Digital signatures ->
The only info i can get from the dll (ur question), no info about what program it was signed with

A few things...
Unless you've got the private key (you don't) there's no way to just sign our apps. So it doesn't really matter what they're signed with or the signatures, etc. The public key does us no good.
WP7 was referred to as Windows Mobile 7 by the teams inside Microsoft probably up until the Mobile World Congress announcement earlier in the year. It's obvious because many of the softies kept calling it that even after the launch. It takes some time to get used to a name change like that.
Who cares that it says "Windows Mobile"? You don't just create new certificates/CAs willy nilly. And besides, what's the point? The only people that will ever see it are people like us who are poking at things we're not supposed to be poking at.
Are you looking at RTM/production binaries or just the emulator dump? I wouldn't be surprised if they were signed using two different certs. Either way, it doesn't really matter (see above).
They probably just used signtool. I've never heard of TIMETEST or ToggleDog and google shows nothing. signtool has long since been the Microsoft signing tool of choice and there's no sign of that changing anytime soon.
here you go :

OBEX and other Transfer Protocol

It seems Kies use OBEX...
AT+SYNCML=MOBEXSTART
First time I saw OBEX was in Brew Mobile Commander in 2006.
Also there was an Plugin for Total Commander...
But this seems not work with S8500.
Other used Protocol is TFS... Samsungs Test Commands. For instance in TkFileExplorer_2.2.exe used.
Hmmm. I need more info/practice about OBEX...
Best Regards
TFS - I saw references to that on the boot loader stuff that was decrypted elsewhere on this forum... Tiny File System, Transparent File System.....?????
New year... old questions.
In Kies you can find several OBEX Commands... like:
m-obex/system/memory
m-obex/application/count
apps_c...
m-obex/fs/info
m-obex/fs/mem_size
In bada 2.0 it seems removed obex... replaced by other stuff...
Anyway. For learning I wish I could use obex Commands successfully.
At the moment no idea how.
Maybe someone could help me.
Best Regards
Edit 1.
Found something via Google...
http://wammu.eu/docs/manual/protocol/m-obex.html
But I sent on XXJL2 AT Command, but can't see any results...
AT+SYNCML=MOBEXSTART
For instance I use WinComm...
AT Commands work on my Port 5...
But if I send this:
AT+SYNCML=MOBEXSTART
AT Commands not more work on COM 5...
Also I get no answer for obex Commands like this:
m-obex/application/count
Is obex open new port?
Or if I sent on 5 I should receive on COM 5 ?
Again many Questions.
Thanx for reading.
Best Regards

PS. tested on bada 2.0
Thank you very much.
I got it now.
Tested on bada 1.x
Older then XXJL2 seems to have other syntax...
But I can confirm work also on XXKL6.
Wow. Every little mistake have lead to no further connection...
Best Regards
Oh "surprise"...
Again obelix power...

Enter S8600 store with your Wave 1 or 2...

Any idea how Kies identify model? It seems not via AT Commands...
Or I am dumb...
AT+DEVCONINFO
I have used portmon to sniff communication...
Maybe it is the name, what Explorer shows?...
So the mass thingie USB driver...
How for instance S8600 answers in Explorer?
Best Regards
May be it?

amss.bin I have checked... maybe not.
I have tried MANY combinations... maybe I have something not seen.
Maybe much easier.
Little example how bada Version is checked... Attention, high protection...
extreme hardcoded to prevent change...
2 parts needed...
Part 1:
SystemFS\User\OspSys\registry\buildnumber.ini
Part 2:
SystemFS/User/OspSys/registry/systeminfo.ini
Compare with latest Firmware and you know how to prepare your bada 1.x device for bada 3.0 Apps.
Anyway, I'm blind to manage Kies to work as S8600...
Best Regards
Okay, I've found Original Screenshot of S8600...
But I know where this Text String is stored...
But I can remember, I've tried this... and was not enough...
Maybe I'll try again.
Best Regards
It can be usb device description string in USB driver on phone or PC side (if it's PC side, description is paired with certain PID and VID), try to connect phone to linux in kies mode and use lsusb -a (aint sure if it's -a, anyway the thing is to get verbose info about device)
Hi, I think stune reads the same data that the kies when connected to the terminal.
I mean:
STUNE when you start telling us the firmware version terminal model of our product code, even our imei
Not fully correct
There is something in the PC driver that needs to be changed
You can see this in the driver details
Best Regards
Maybe Kies via Wi-Fi easier...
Not tested yet.
Best Regards
Bus reported device description is sent from device during USB enumeration. So model id is stored in Bada USB module. I'm nearly sure it's unicode string.
Maybe my fault...
AT+PROF="Device
Leads to file device.xml...
Will compare Wave 1, 2, 3 device.xml ...
Best Regards
Edit 1...
Code:
<ModelName value="GT-S8500"/>
<BaseModelName value="GT-S8500"/>

Kies now shows other Error
Please, maybe someone can post from S8600 under Explorer...
Remember to remove IMEI...
I think this is MTP device... USB blabla portable Device Driver under Device Manager in Windows...
PS...
Text Samsung... in white Background is editable...
Edit 1.
Hmmm... Wave 2 can't edit ... grey colored...
Screenshot from S8600 would be nice.
Thanx in advance.
why do you think AT+DEVCONINFO is wrong? whole infos including imei in one packet
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20497198&postcount=15
Because I've found all files and positions to make 1:1 clone... including IMEI...
But this is not working for Kies.
Kies shows Error, that unsupported device is attached.
Best Regards
error it is kind of progress

Umm, sorry, it's not helping anything in that case. FYI there are literally tenths of thousands such char strings in apps_compressed. Good you're looking tho. ;P
Maybe my goal is not clear enough...
Most of us have NO S8600...
But S8600 has few nice NEW Apps.
You can download without attached handset EVERY App you can find via Kies.
BUT not install if attached handset is not valid...
My goal is to make S8500 valid to install S8600 Apps via Kies.
Solution 1 is wait...
Maybe Samsung will offer these Apps like Tintin before Christmas 2012...
Really realistic...
I think minimum 2-3 months not available for S8500/S8530 to be exclusive for S8600...
Solution...
Move your bu ehm brain.
This mission is NOT impossible.
Best Regards
Sorry for them to lose the time, now I will focus more on the subject.
ferrloz thanks.

Read / modify png files from MT6261 smartwatch (eg gif works)

Hello, I need help from someone smarter
I have NO.1 G4 smartwatch with MT6261. Link to official firmware en.001phone.cn download-45.html
My way to manual read gif file (or via Mtk_Res_V1.3)
* open in R61S_V2_1_W126_128_DAUL_LANGD_20160520.lis
* select info about file to read
Code:
________CUSTOMER__IMAGES__FTE_SLIM240X240__MAINLCD__WORLDCLOCK__MAP01_GIF 0x103d9910 Data 17425 CustImgGroupSingleDataRes.obj(.constdata)
* start address for ROM is 0x10020000 (info from flashtool after load config file)
* 0x103d9910 - 0x10020000 = 0x003b9910 (address in rom file)
* i don't know why but I add 8 byte to address and limit in length
* in result I have start address 0x003b9918 and length 17417 for GIF file, after export this by hexinator-32-1.9 I can open GIF
when I do above procedure for PNG file i recaive below file (i can't upload file)
Code:

how to read PNG files? or how convert this file to png

Mi5s Problem locked only edl, erro miflash and qfil

My mi5s stopped alone a few days ago, I had the bootloader unlocked and was using a global when it happened.
It stuck out of alone, and it would not allow me anything, it said it was not allowed in both the fastboot mode so much for the twrp recovery.
I tried several times until the flash started and it gave an error, after that it does not display anything else on the screen. Is only in download mode (hs 9008). I've tried everything to get out of this way, but nothing.
By the miflash (latest version) of the ACK error in less than 10 seconds.
By the (old) miflash system passes, from completion, but does nothing, continues in download mode.
By Qfil of the error at the beginning speaking that it is not allowed to write any storage.
Log QFIL(qualcomm) *The complete is attached

Hi wesleycp4, exactly the same thing happened to me. I was happily using my Mi5s with 8.2 global rom and the device was taken care of properly, charged once in a day for 1-1,5 hours, no drop, no liquid, nothing... Just no bad thing happened to it previously. Suddenly it freezed when I send an sms. Then I poweredoff the device and bom, it does not respond. No charge sign, no led, no adb connection, no fastboot mode, nothing.
When I connected it to the PC it appears as Qualcomm device on com port 9008. Good. I ve tried it to flash 8.0.3 global rom (and also Chinese and developer roms) via MiFlash 64 bit with drivers installed on a Win7 pc but it stucks at some point saying "WriteFile position xxxxxx size xxxx", nothing appears.
Also I have tried to make testpoint so remove the back panel and connected to usb while shortcircuiting pin points. It appeared as Qualcomm com port 9008 and MiFlash app recognized it, same procedure with 3 different roms and the result is still failure.
Moreover I tried to flash it with two different PCs (Win7 and Win10) and tried latest MiFlash tool instead 2016 64 bit tool and it says catastraphic failure.
I have read all forums related and talked to a few geeks, we have concluded that UFS memory is corrupted abruptly, or maybe more parts.

Yes, is corrupt, I tried by qfil to clean the devcfg partition and gave error as well. Apparently it is only her that gives the problem. Searching I found talking that to get back to work I should save it and try again after 4 days. If it is the case of being corrupted I find it difficult to return, but, I do not have anything else to do
+1 for my mi5s plus. How can a normal phone just stuck in Qualcomm mode suddenly. Something must be wrong. Really frustrated and disappointed.

Yup, mine is 128gb version. Would like to try the guide too. Anybody could share the complete eMMC image for the mi5s plus?

Have exactly the same problem on my Mi 5s last month. It suddenly turn off while I am texting.
Mine is also 128 GB version. Tried to flash with several tools but all turn out failed.
Bring it over to my local Mi service center but they cannot fix it as device is not sold in my country..
Look forward to hearing for a solution. I have given up my hope though.

I was thinking that the Chinese mi pc suite might detected the phone while in edl mode. If so using Chinese pc suite, Instead of mi flash tool might work The other way is deep flash mode: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5s/how-to/how-to-flash-hard-bricked-mi-5s-mi-5s-t3490252. You probably already knew about it. One last thing, check if you have all files in fastboot rom folders, just in case. I have myself experienced corrupted miui fastboot roms. This is only a pure suggestion. Sorry bothering you if this is totally inappropriate for the topic. Hopefully you will succeed somehow.
I gave up on repairing. I sold it and I do not buy xiaomi 128gb. Only 64gb. Thanks for try help

How did you sell it since the phone is stuck in EDL mode? It is not usable, isn't it
