[Q] enable swapper in Flippy's kernel? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am now using cm7 nightly and have flashed flippy's 1.9GHZ kernel.
Seems his thread mentioned this kernel supports swapper. But I have tried different ways and apps but no luck.
Just wonder if there is any trick to achieve this?
FYI I have a 16GB cls 10 divided into 14.3GB FAT32, 256MB ext4 and 256MB swap.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Kernel 2.6.32 ?

So I think kernel 2.6.32 sports high memory and 2.6.29 only 256 so if we upgrade our kernel to 2.6.32 we should have 512 instead of 256 right? But my question is will the 2.6.32 kernel work with 2.1??

Re: Kernel 2.6.32 ?
I think what he's saying is how efficiently it allocates the memory.

I don't see why not. CM is already running 2.6.33.4 on the G1's. Actually, I'd prefer that kernal.

i think Eugene was working on getting a custom Boot.img to load properly last i heard he had one running not sure if he used the stock img and customized or if he was trying a CM img
It seems silly to me to include more memory then the phone can actually USE due to software limitations.

[Q] what ext to use?

just got a 16gb class 6 card, what is the best ext to use? read that ext4 is best for class 6 and higher cards? would most roms etc support ext4?

the majority of roms now support ext 4, i use an 8gb class 6 and to be honest i use ext4 but i didnt to be honest notice a massive diffrence between ext4 and ext 2, someone with a bit more experence may be able to explain things better.
You should be using ext4 if your rom supports it. If not go ext3

More Details mate
what issue ? which ROM to be precise ?
the procedure to flash is same as other ROMS
If you have stock boot.. than you just need ... 1gb EXT4 partition and FAT32 rest . and you are ready to flash.

512 MB ext4 is enough for a2sd+ version.

512 mb is enough, ext4? I thought you need ext3. (I have 512 mb ext3 and everything is working...)
I use this version (a2sd+): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957291 It works great!

Yes same here
I have partition Fat32 followed by 1 GB ext 3
running latest miui au 1.7.15 with a2sd+ which is awesome
AWESOME, that's the best description for MIUI
Here you can find a installation guide: http://www.miui-au.com/installation/rom-installation/ and here another one: http://en.miui.com/a-13.html
Goodluck!
It's really hard to explain. Everytime I began to flash the latest version of MIUI Rom from MIUI.us it aborts the installation. I got a older version to flash but not the latest one. I've even had help from a owner of the site and the developer that made Rom Manager with no luck.

Does DHD need ext3/4 partition on sd card

Hi just bought DHD with stock
Couldn't find here suggestion, so having a Class 10, 16gb SD do I need to have ext4 partition for custom ROM or just leave it as a single FAT 32
Willing to root it with Ace Kit.
then one of thise roms
[AOSP-4.2.1] [JOP40G] [Linaro 4.7.3-toolchain] [SR10] OFFICIAL codefireX Builds
or
JellyBean - JELLYTIME for DHD/Inspire4g - 4.2 R6.1 Available
thanks
kalo
No you don't need to do that to your sd card.
What you need to format once using 4EXT is your internal memory before you flash an EXT3/4 based ROM.
I believe there's already a flashable .zip for that. (Anyone correct me if I'm mistaken.)
Ok. Thanks

[Q] (Q & Discussion) Comparison of DoomKernel & CosmicDans Turbo Kernel (multiboot)

[Q] (Q & Discussion) Comparison of DoomKernel & CosmicDans Turbo Kernel (multiboot)
So I am currently running the old CDMA DoomKernel from april of last year. I am know that recently CosmicDan has released his Turbi Kernel that can multiboot GB,ICS,JB,AOKP,AOSP. But I when I tried to use it I had some issues with the kernel on my CDMA PLAY.
I will be switching to my unlocked AT&T PLAY in about 3 weeks but was curious what people thoughts were and if they have used Turbo Kernel if they noticed an performance boosts from all the other kernels that are available? If anyone can throw in their thoughts/experiences here that would be great. Thanks.
Re: [Q] (Q & Discussion) Comparison of DoomKernel & CosmicDans Turbo Kernel (multiboo
I have ran both kernals, personal experience for me is Turbo has problems keeping jelly bean running my phone slows way down before it restarts itself but will run pa man great with out issues I have never had any problems running any if doom lords kernals they work perfect but they inky go so far I.e ixs beta that I'm aware of atm (please correct me if I am wrong in stated that)

turbo kernel does not have support camera app for gb rom....
so...if camera is important to you... just forget about this kernel
remember... slot1 is fastest that another slot because data & system stored in internal memory phone
and the others slot will be stored in memory card....

But if ur SD is fast like a class 10 32 Gig then the slot 2-3-4 will be proibably faster or same speed!!!
