Hi all.
Is it possible to change the USB mass storage mount screen at all? I find it a little ugly, that's all.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
The very end of framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi is where the 2 icons are located for that.

As david1171 already suggested, the icons are in the framework.
If you don't know how to edit and replace them you can find several themes in this thread in which the USB screen has been modded. For example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964728

Does anyone know a guide that will tell someone which images in drawable folders are to what? I need a freakin road map. Tired of looking through all of these.
Anyways, I'm trying to find the image to change the USB notification icon (the one that pops up when usb cable connected/charging). Also trying to find the background image(s) that is behind menus such as: Power button options, app selection window, pretty much all windows that pop up on the screen with options.
If someone knows and could point me to the names of these that would be terrific.
Thanks.
Seriously?
Where is the community love? I know someone on XDA knows this stuff.
I'm wondering where the power menu backgrounds are aswell.
Not to steal your thread but I'm looking for the "all apps" header.

Just post over in the dev section. Its the wrong section, you'll get flamed, but your question will probably get answered. Everyone complains "post this in the general/questions section" but everyone knows the only ones getting are themes/mods and the dev.
Sorry I couldn't be constructive and answer your question.

Why don't you dissect an existing theme and see what is changed in that. That's gunna be your best road map. And the usb icon is not in the system, its in PCSC11.apk in system/app

Are you using a Sense ROM or some AOSP variation? Because the .png is in different places and named different for the USB icon. The USB icon is in the frame-res.apk and is called stat_sys_data_usb on AOSP and on Sense its in the PCSCII.apk and is called usb_to_pc_notify. As far as your other question, you pretty much answered your own question. Theyre called popup_.xxx.png. Theres full, medium, dark and bright ones. They control all the pop-ups. Also again it is important which Rom youre using because in AOSP theres only one set in frame-res.apk and on Sense there's two sets one in frame-res and one in htc.resources.apk and you have to change both of them because they pop up for different things.

Sense based. I changed the popup ones but didn't do what I needed. Gonna just change all the menu named ones and should find it hopefully. Thanks for the help.

Changed all the popup_xxx.png that I could find but still didn't change the power options menu (one from holding down power button), the "do you want to add this number into contacts" one, and some other popup menus. Any ideas on where I need to look?
Thanks.

The power options menu icons are buried in com.htc.resources.apk from what I remember. Trying to theme Sense is a huge pain in the ass compared to AOSP since the PNGs are all over the place and there's some that aren't even used packed in there too.
Edit: Wait, just realized that's not what you're looking for, if I'm correct on what you're looking for, I'm not sure where they're at either but it should be framework-res or com.htc.resources.
**Solved**
Need help from those that are familiar with creating themes. I'm not that experienced but trying to learn as much as possible.
Anyways, trying to change battery icon on Sense based rom (3.70) which comes packaged with horizontal battery. Tried changing notifications and battery to vertical type. After flashing, battery only appears if usb cable in either plugged in or not plugged in (have had it happen both ways). After unplugging the icon just disappears. Had this happen after changing to a circular battery as well.
Question is, what do I need to change along with battery icons to make this work?
Thanks.

anyone know where i can find a icon or make one so when i plug in my evo into my computer it will show the phone instead of stock mass storage icon
what icon are you talking about? a desktop icon? a taskbar icon?
What rom are you running? I know how to do what I think you're asking with MIUI, but I might be misunderstanding. You're talking about the icon in the status bar? Why would you want to change it to a phone?

yes a desktop icon ...when i plug my phone into the computer it will show my evo icon instead of just showing the sd card icon ....sorry not explaining it clearly
this is what i mean just to clearify this up
http://forums.crackberry.com/general-discussion-f2/blackberry-icons-pc-197803/
I mean, you will have to make an Evo icon if you want one. But once you do, just make a shortcut to the drive on the Desktop, right click, properites, change icon. Just like you would do with any other program you want to change the icon for.
You can use this link to do it the "autorun" way.

Hey folks,
I've been wondering what was the purpose behind the hidden dock bar really? I haven't been able to find a use for such a feature. In most case I'd something like FileCrypt...
Wanted to know what you guys thought?...
It's an extra dock bar where you can add more app shortcuts and not clutter up your home screen

Yeah I get that part also... But I have way to many apps I access on a regular basis so... no real usefulness.
Different strokes for different folks.

That doesn't mean it's not useful to someone else.
Hidden doc
I used it to keep my desktop clean looking. No apps in the main doc and kept my apps on the hidden doc. That way I could have a really niche desktop pic with maybe a clock on it and one or two other information widgets and no other icons. I could just swipe and there's my doc.
I'm looking to download the previous version any ideas?
Greets!
In a nutshell: looking for a way to hold my screen up-side-down and have it show correctly. Basically I wan to put it in my dash holder up-side down so that the usb charging port is facing the bottom. That way, I dont have to try an get my charging and audio cables to reach all of the way to the top!
I have found an app that lets me change to landscape, but not completely all the way around. My iPad does this with ease by default. Any clue on how to change the orientation so that I can hold my phone up-side-down but still have the screen showing correctly?
Also, running Slim 4.2.2 Build5 if that makes a difference.
Thanks!
One of the settings (display maybe?) has what screen orientations are enabled. 180 is off by default.

Stock CM and many ROMs based off it has this option BUT they will not enforce this on all apps AND it will not work on lockscreen (i.e. even if you lock it 180 in settings, you'll have to unlock in 0 degrees).
I've investigated the same problem quite much and found "Ultimate Rotation Controls" to be the only solution that can force all apps including the lockscreen to rotate in any direction you want (while other similar apps also can force apps to rotate but fail on lockscreen).
