So, I've tried using a mod cooked by a online kitchen (cookmyrom se) and now I have a Desire in a very strange condition -
1. It has cyanogen mode, but without the Market application.
2. It has a terminal emulator.
3. It has clockworkmod, but I can't make it download the recovery thingy that actually makes it useful (even though I have both wifi and 3g, checked using the browser).
4. ADB on windows doesn't recognize the device. I updated it (last time I rooted the device was a lot of time to go).
5. The device is rooted (I managed to run terminal commands as root - su, etc).
6. Any time I try to put a Mod as update.zip it gives me an error about the signing (I tried official mods too :S).
7. Current version: 2.2
Baseband version: 32.42.00.32U_5.09.00.08
Kernel version: 2.6.34.5-cyanogenmodandroid giulio-laptop#7
HBOOT: 0.80.0000
Radio: 5.09.00.08
So , now all I want is to get some kind of control back - at the least the ability to dump a new mod. Any Desire expert can piece up the puzzle I created and help me?
1 Flash gapps
2 It should have
3 Your confusing rom manager and CWM. If you are rooted CWM should be on the phone when you manually boot in to recovery.
4 Either driver issues or adb isn't enabled on the phone.
5 Great
6 Turn of signature verification (in recovery go to install zip from sd, there is the option)
If you want to flash new rom:
Put a rom on the sd
Boot in to recovery (without rom manager)
Wipe data/factory reset and cache
Install zip from sd
Reboot recovery
First of all, thanks for helping. Unfortunately, I understood maybe half of what you wrote
1. I googled it and it seems that I still need a facility to flash stuff, which I don't have since I can't install CWM recovery.
2. I am. I have rom manager installed, but I can't flash Clockworkmod using rom manager. It says "Error while downloading from server. Please make sure that you have a stable internet connection (I have) and that your sd card is inserted and has enough space (inserted and has >1GB of free space)"
I don't understand what do you mean by
"If you are rooted CWM should be on the phone when you manually boot in to recovery."
I think I am rooted. As I said, I have root privileges and as I said, when I boot into recovery I only have 4 options (reboot, apply sdcard:update.zip, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition).
4. I have both drivers and newest adb. I have all development options, including debugging on the phone (this is what you meant right?) enabled. I can try reinstalling everything.
6. Again - I don't have this option.
Bump. Still no solution, and I tried every unlocker method out there. Please help.

Hi,
i'm posting this separately cos i wanted to clearly highlight all the steps i have taken which doesn't appear to be the same as the other posts.
i successfully rooted the phone via unrevoked.
i was attempting to load the following ROM:
[ROM] Pays-ROM Desire Sense v2.3 A2SD++ BraveSoul WLAN N + Tether [12th July 2010] - xda-developers
steps given:
-You need ROOT access to flash this ROM.
-Put your Desire in Recovery Mode
-Fully wipe Data and Cache / wipe Dalvik-cache / wipe SD:ext (with AM Desire Recovery)
-Flash latest ROM from SD Card and if you like it
i think in my naivety i've done something i wasn't supposed to.
i went into recovery:
1. wipe data/factory reset - completed (just thought i'll also mention that i can't see 'dalvik cache'. it just says 'user data')
2. wipe cache partition - completed (i don't think i was supposed to do that )
3.install ZIP from SD card - successful
4. reboot
this reboots into the carrier's splash screen and its just stuck there.
i've tried turning the phone off/on (by removing the battery)
i don't think i made a successful backup every time i try 'back up and restore > restore' it says:
'couldn't find clockworkMod Recovery [version number]
couldn't open directory.
no files found.
please help!
right now i'll take any rom that would easily load without having to do to much..thanks!!
desperately awaiting a reply..
That rom is incredibly outdated. If you boot in to recovery what name do you see? Also do you have a ext partition on the sd?
If you just want to install a rom to get it booting again, install leedroid nonA2SD.

Can some one suggest me where download and how installa the stock rom for wildfire.
Now I use a cynogen 7 and i want go back to original froyo + sense
There are 3 primary ways to do that:
1) If you had taken a Nandroid Backup before installing CM7, Just restore that. (But I am assuming you didn't, hence you are asking this)
2) If you want to retain root and Clockworkmod Recovery, just flash this ROM. Its Stock Froyo + Sense:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877977
The process to install that is as follows:
- Download this attachment and place on your SDCard:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=662193&d=1311319218
- Flash in Clockworkmod 3.x or higher. This will give you temporary Clockworkmod 2.5 (Green Text)
- Then, perform a Data Wipe, and install the ROM Zip file as normal.
3) If you dont want to retain root and Clockworkmod
- Download the Froyo RUU from Shipped ROMs (Froyo WWE 2.22.405.1 EXE) from Shipped ROMs:
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Buzz
- Connect Wildfire to the PC, and simply run it.
Hi, I'm back
Just 2 questions
I downloaded both files
i copied both files on sd then i started rom manager and tapped on first field to
Flask clockwork mod recovery
Then? what i have to do to revert to Clockworkmod 2.5?
i downloaded this file from the link Safe_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.22.405.1_Rooted
is it true?

I can't understand what you mean by your first question at all. Clockworkmod Recovery flashed via ROM Manager is temporary. Your original Clockworkmod will remain untouched. So if you are using the option called Flash Clockworkmod Recovery in ROM Manager, then the next step is to select Reboot into Recovery from the ROM Manager App again, then flash the ROM File. In this case, you can discard the update1.zip file, as it has no significance.
As for your second question, mirrors of the EXE RUU can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275680
My first question is simple
on my phone i have rom manager and there is a row named "Flask clockwork mod recovery"
but
i don't know how go back from cynogen to stock rom using clockwork mod recovery
can you help me step by step?
and the stock [with no root] rom for wildfire with froyo is this one?
RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.22.405.1_Radio_13.55.55.2 4H_3.35.20.10_release_160191_signed.exe (This RUU contains HBoot 1.01.0001)
i need only to connect the phone to pc and run the exe?
First, decide what you want to do - Flash the EXE RUU, or Flash the Safe Flash ZIP File. If you decide to flash the Safe ZIP file, you will keep Clockworkmod Recovery, which will allow you to flash stuff later. If you select the EXE RUU, Clockworkmod Recovery will be removed, so you will NOT be able to flash anything, like ROMs, Kernels etc.
Once you have decided, here are the steps:
1) If you decide to install the Safe Flash ZIP File
- Download the Safe Flash ZIP from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877977
Rooted / Unrooted, Its upto you which version you want. Rooted version has Superuser, so you can run apps like Titanium Backup etc. Unrooted doesnt have Superuser, so you cant run root apps.
- Place this file on your SDCard
- Now, open ROM Manager
- Select Flash Clockworkmod Recovery. Then make sure you select 2.5.0.7. NOT a version beginning with 3.x, 4.x or 5.x
- Once it is installed, in ROM Manager, the next option will be 'reboot into recovery'. Select that
- Once you select that, then you will be taken to Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7 (Which has all its options in Green coloured Text). Here, select "Wipe Data / Factory Reset". This step will erase all data on your phone (Not on your SDcard, Just your phone data. This step is essential when changing ROMs)
- Lastly, select "Install Zip from SDCard", and then, select the ZIP file you placed on your card at the beginning of this step. Let it install. Once installed, Select "Reboot System Now", and let the phone reboot. Done
2) If you decide to run the EXE RUU
- Its pretty much 1 step. Connect the phone to your PC and run the EXE File. It will automatically perform the install. If you get an Error 131 - Customer ID Error, you will need to create a Goldcard. There's a guide for that here:
http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/10/how-to-create-a-goldcard/

Flash this zip file in CWM3: (Install Zip from SDCard > Choose Zip from SDCard. (Don't select the "Apply update.zip option)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=662193&d=1311319218
It will give you temporary 2.5.0.7, then you can flash the ROM. (It is temporary, so, everytime you want CWM 2.5.0.7, you will have to flash this Zip file)
I tried to install CM9. ... and failed 5 or 6 times?
I tried everything, but it just didn't got ready with booting, although I did everything right
That's what I did at last
0. failed with installing
1. I Flashed JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_177-003_BLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS 03C_USAJRDNFRYORTDACH_P014_A009_HWp3_Service1FF.sb f (full SBF with RSD Lite)
2. rooted it with Superoneclick2.3.3
3. turned USB Debugging on.
3. installed Bootmenu 1.0.7(CyanogenDefy recovery 5.0.3) via 2nd-init 2.0
4. turned USB Debugging off.
5. entered Custom recovery
6. "Clear Data/Factory reset"
7. "install Zip from Sd-card">"Choose Zip from sd-card"
8. "CM9-NIGHTLY-120402-Defy.zip"
9. 7.+"CM7_Kernel-signed"
10. "advanced">"Clear Dalvik Cache"
11. "Clear Data/Factory reset"(includes cache wipe)
12. Reboot
0. failed again(didn't get ready with booting)
I got no errors and I've lost my last sd-card.(look at here)
I've got a german SOC Device with E-plus SIM-Card and 16GB SD-card.
I'm sure It's not possible to install CM9 on my device because of unfixed bugs, so I ask you to upload a advanced nandroid backup(with backuped system,data,boot,devtree,recovery,cache,sd-ext and pds) of your CM9 SOC or redlens defy.(don't forget to delete data ... and to restore it afterwards).
I'm tired of asking and asking in this forum. With this way I and many others will be able to install Cyanogenmod 9 via the backup, even if we are unable to install it on the common way and the Community won't have to spend us too much time.
PLEASE

I understand your concern; if I have had red lens I must have uploaded the nandroid.
However, I have a few workarounds for you:
1. Try some different build of the ICS (Try Epsylon's or Quarx's);
2. May be the downloaded ROM file have some issue with it;
3. This time while downloading do not use any download manager;
4. For the dead SD card you try connecting the SD card to your computer using some card reader and use "SD Formatter" software to format it. Just Google the name.
Hope the above information helps!!
Ok, I understand, but what do you mean with download Manager

Download manager is like a tool like Internet Download Manager(IDM) which makes download faster. However, it actually downloadsfiles in packets(parts) at last it combines all parts into one. Insome rare cases this combining makes the file corrupt.
Hope this helps!!

go to revolutionary.io and S-OFF the phone.
go to market and download 4EXT recovery control (I think there is free and paid version)
open the app, select the "touch" tab, and select a recovery (the latest recoveries are unavailable on non-paid version)
Then reboot into recovery (power off, hold volume down + power, wait for bootloader to flash green text (ignore it), press volume down to highlight recovery, press power) Once it boots into recovery you can either a) flash google apps b) flash a completely different ROM.
-------------------------------
a) If you don't want a custom ROM, just download gapps, place it on your sd-card (while in recovery, you can plug the phone into pc and select "toggle usb storage"), then go to "install from sd-card" and choose the .zip file you put on your sd-card. Once the process finishes you will have all google apps.
-------------------------------
b) If you would like to flash a custom ROM (I would, they're awesome), then backup your ROM (from backup & restore). Then go to wipe/format and select Wipe ALL partitions (except for sd-card)
Then download a ROM from the android development section, stick it on your sd-card and flash it (install zip from sd-card).
Some ROMs require a custom HBOOT partition before you flash a ROM, and you can get the from alpharev.nl (always make sure to check the md5 sums of the hboot, there is a tool on my troubleshooting guide which does this for you, otherwise you can brick your phone). Always change the hboot BEFORE flashing the ROM
Hello!
My Oppo Find 7 (international) seems to be bricked.
I'm on stock ROM COS 1.2.5 with stock recovery 1.0
After booting it stuck in the Setup-Wizzard with "settings has stopped"-Loop.
Unfortunately in stock-ROMs the USB-debugging is disabled, so i can't acces via adb fastboot to flash other recoverys.
And cause of the loop i can not enable USB-debugging...
The recovery (stock 1.0) let me only flash 1.2.5, no other ROMs work.
Things that work:
- entering fastboot (but no access via adb as i wrote)
- entering recovery and execute "zip from sd" (while sd means only internal sd here)
- normal boot to the f****** Setup-Assistant, enter PIN. At slect Language the "setting has stopped"-loop starts
- while the device is in loop, i can access the internal and external SD-card via PC, copy and delete files works
Please, has anybody an idea what to do ?
Thanks to all
Marco
Since you can get into fastboot, download a custom recovery, go to fastboot, type
fastboot flash recovery x
Replacing x with the full name and extension of the file, and install a ROM. Alternatively, if you want ColorOS, try downloading 1.2.4i, and installing it through the stock recovery. Then you can update from there
Hmmmm....
Positive! At this moment i learned that USB-debugging is needed for adb-access on a booted device, not for fastboot-access
Yes, i could flash TWRP via fastboot (puuhh, not bricked)
THANKS !!
Now i can mess around the "settings has closed"-Loop, wich is still in place.
(No wiping fixes the problem, even 1.2.1 nor 1.2.3 or whatever)
But i'm on the road again and can check out fixes.
Thanks again!!
That's weird. Did you ever install custom ROMs before having this issue?
Did you try formatting System in TWRP? But be careful, when you format System you have to install stock Color OS BEFORE rebooting your device. That means stay in TWRP after you format and install the ROM, then reboot.
